This will not look good upon FIU's resume.... nor indeed anyone coming from there supporting the "Accelerated Bridge Construction" Technique that led to the problem:

There's also been news about a Crack being reported within the bridge structure, though being dismissed as not significant... perhaps not in a normal bridge but if you look at the design of the one shown in the photo, it could indeed be significant. You'd need a material scientist to give a proper assessment of the impact of such a crack upon the bridge.

One wonders whether the Engineer was qualified to make such a judgement given the bridge was effectively a concrete plank across a wide gap without any support.
