Lock this clown up with that clown (Giuliani) in the same prison cell. They were made for each other.

Don't back down. If the tables were turned, you can bet the republicans would go gung-ho, firing on all four cylinders. Just look at the hypocrisy concerning the SC justices. Yes, Miss Lindsay, I'm talking about you and your incessant flip-flops and two-faced speeches. What was that about impeachment and cleansing?

Let's see how many republicans have morals and courage!!

There's much talk about impeaching Trump, but little/no talk about Rep. Marjorie Greene submitting articles of impeachment against Biden.

That's because there's about as much chance of that Qanon supporting whackjob's articles getting passed as I do of becoming the next king of England.

Someone trying to raise a ruckus for partisan political reasons by declaring that they were submitting articles of impeachment is pretty de rigeur for the US at this point. In fact, every President since Reagan has had someone submit articles of impeachment against them.

Except for Clinton and Trump (twice), none of the articles ever cleared the subcommittee stage.

Donald being held accountable for his Great MAGA Con of 2020...

Impeach and further humiliate this anti-democratic, wanna-be dictator and insurrectionist...

The Republican Party attracted Tea Party wacks, pro-authoritarians, Qanon believers and Trump's bands of white nationalists. The R's know they cannot risk losing these groups because they're well aware they don't have the numbers to challenge the Democrats in a fair election.

The GOP will continue to protect Trump; they won't impeach him. And they'll continue to restrict voting rights to make it a challenge for those they think could vote Democrat.

Republicans have become both anti-democratic and anti-republic.

Now that it's permissible to have Senate trials is actually a good thing. Hopefully, some other former presidents will be brought up on charges for their illegal activities against our Nation while in office.

Let's see how many republicans have morals and courage!!

We know we can count them on one hand, but for the sake of justice let's hope on the two hands of a man missing no more than 3 fingers.

In the real world, the treasonous noises trumpeting from the rogue "elephant" in the smoke-filled back rooms of Senate are ominous, but hope dies last and decent, honest Americans who can still look themselves in a mirror without cracking it are rooting for a belated conviction if only enough Republicans can grow a spine in time. Scotus packed with "Constitution-lovin'" originalists have already abdicated their duties in dismissing the 250 yr-old emoluments clause of the Constitution against the egregious racketeering of the 45th which they just mooted and booted out of play. The problem posed by such obtuse and hypocritically-minded guardians of justice and their political enablers can be put simply:

I can not tell a lie - George Washington

I can not tell the truth - Donald Trump

I can not (daren't) tell the difference - Republican senators and bench-ruling justices.

@taxaggie Is that a flag for Trump's Patriot Party? Or will Trump's patriots replace the US flag with a Trump flag like they did during the insurrection, then use the US flag to beat a policeman like they did during the insurrection.

"So in the future, can this be used against (former) President (Barack) Obama?" she asked.

Is Joni Ernst dumb or is she just pretending to be?

Obama was never impeached. So, no. He can't be tried in the Senate.

Besides, did Obama commit high crimes against the oath of his office?

A lot of the GOP caucus is putting forward this narrative that a Senate trial is nothing more than a partisan battle, any merits of the case be damned. There is no truth, no right or wrong. There is only which team you're on and what you claim to be true and what you can get away with.

American democracy is well down the toilet at this point.

Along with resignations signed by those Democrats who incited violence and insurrection since last March.

It needs to be done, but the Senate will never vote to convict. No way will 17 GOP Senators cross the aisle and put their place at the public trough at risk. Trump was right. He could stand on 5th Ave and shoot someone in cold blood, and the GOP would call it self defense, and then pass a retroactive federal stand-your-ground law.

The Constitution expressly forbids impeaching a private citizen.

Historically twice impeached. It has never happened before to an American president let alone in a single term.

Donald J. Trump.

The J stands for genius.

No need to impeach a war criminal. It only need a war tribunal to convict.

Good. Just to stop the nutcase from being eligible for public office. Fired and banned!

Feel the funk on that, plenty of bass too.

A private citizen can not be impleached.

If they change the rule to do that, there are plenty of previous presidents that applies to.

If repubs were smart, unlikely I know, they would use the impeachment to rid themselves & THEIR country of trump, otherwise trump may well end up destroying the GOP party or worse the entire country!!!

Its insane how SCARED repubs are of the lunatic fringe of hard core trump supporters that they so willingly flush their own democracy down the crapper!!!

If they somehow grow the NADS to rid the country of trump, his lunatic base will at least be knocked down enough to render them insignificant for the time being anyway.

Its insane that at his end trump incited an insurrection, has been taped on the phone trying to subvert Georgia election results & schemed to replace the AG with someone who would also try to void states DEMOCRATIC results!!!!!

And TONS of repubs are TOTALLY OK with this.....stupid beyond belief, yet it IS happening, I hope somehow the US survives, but if trump isnt taken OUT he will likely destroy the GOP thereby handing power to the Dems for a LONG TIME!!!!
