What a bizarre story - I doubt NK spends $2 million on healthcare for their entire populace. CNN's story contains a crucial distinction: That Rex Tiller okayed the envoy to sign the bill and retroactively informed Trump. JT's article indicates the decision was Trump's. I wonder which is true but suspect Tiller would not have made such a decision without Trump's permission.

Thanks @Laguna. With the Trump White House twisting so many stories (think Sarah 'slip of the tongue' Sanders' daily lies) who knows what's true, what's being distorted, what's being hidden, and what's outright fake.

Is Trump dictator appeasing again? Was the US$2 million down payment for a Trump hotel in North Korea? For Ivanka and daddy's trademarks?

It's the Trump post truth era after all.

North Korea, which has denied accusations by relatives that it tortured Warmbier, has said he was provided "medical treatments and care with all sincerity."

Yeah...right. NK has a history of torturing its own people. This is nothing more than extortion.

North Korea does more insane things than South Korea...

More really weird news out of the hermit kingdom. What would be even weirder would be if Trump were to pay the N. Koreans the $2 million with a thank you note.

Trump is already on the record for letting Kim off the hook for what happened to Otto Warmbier, so, who knows, Trump just might, especially if it'll improve his chances to win the Nobel Prize. Besides, the $2 mill wouldn't come out of Trump's pocket anyway.

"If we did, if this administration did agree (to pay the $2 million dollars beforehand), that really is extremely bad precedent because what it means is that at times of their choosing, the North Koreans can choose to hold an American citizen hostage for a big ransom. And they're not above doing that, I mean their single minded drive for generating hard currency and they'll look for every opportunity, every excuse to do it no matter how completely inappropriate and obscene that it is, so I think to offer advice that nobody will listen to, you need to be realistic about North Korea and the nature of that regime."

Trump legitimised the Kim regime despite the brutal killing of his uncle and half brother.

No, Kim made sure his country was NEVER delegitimized BY offing his brother and uncle, has nothing to do with Trump. Kim needed to make a name for himself and he did it in the most visual and violent manner.

How does killing family members prevent a deligitimized country from becoming deligitimized? Trump legitimized the DPRK, which had previously been a deligitimized country.

Kim needed to make a name for himself and he did it in the most visual and violent manner.

Which has nothing to do with the country being legitimized by Donny.

Trump paid. Trump lied.

Care to provide proof? I'm interested and it wouldn't be out of character. He said, she said from an anonymous source isn't proof. It is intriguing, nothing more.
