Eeew, watching Ted Cruz squirm was as creepy as ever.

Trump won the debate and he wasn't even there.

The Republican party is insane.

"Cruz, who has won endorsements from key evangelicals and anti-abortion figures who tout his religious values"

Cruz is living proof of talking snakes.

Madverts: "Eeew, watching Ted Cruz squirm was as creepy as ever."

The guy is literally panicking as he knows Trump has got him and probably realized he should have skipped out on the debate once Trump did. I bet he thought it would be a fun chance to get his little quip in in the beginning and gain more support without Trump there, but quickly realized that with Trump sticking to his guns and staying away (despite FOX's last minute apology and begging) they all suddenly looked like the pathetic lot of vote-grubbers they are.

You are right on, Madverts: Trump won this one without even being there, and everyone else lost. I love that Huckabee and Santorum even showed up for Trump's event! hahaha... classic. Maybe one of them is hoping to be his side-kick when he runs for President.

For one, to prove you're not a coward who turns tail and runs the moment someone challenges you. As it is, Trump can't handle Kelly but he wants us to believe he'll handle Putin. Right…

Quoted for truth.

Nobody even talks about the flaming clown car any more because there is nothing funny about these tired lame lying cloying unqualified egotists. A plague on all their houses. All this shows is how far they all have shrunk without Trump there. Give the devil his due, Trump won this night big.

Trump may be absent after snubbing the last debate, but voters have to beware of imposters stealing the show.....

Meet Donald's hair-raising doubles.....

America should be embarrassed - period. How can politics in that country sink so low?

Rik314 at Jan. 29, 2016 - 09:55PM JST How can politics in that country sink so low?

It's a two party system where one side have become insane. I'm talking metal straight-jackets, rubber rooms and a stick between the teeth crazy.

SuperLib at Jan. 29, 2016 - 04:49PM JST I cheer for Rubio in these situations and he does a pretty good job. I'm surprised more Republicans don't support him.

He only stands out because he's possibly the least insane of the inmates. He's still talking about ripping up the Iran deal on "day one". Insanity.

CNN/ORC poll of Republican voters has Trump at 41 percent . . .

Forty-one percent of Republican Shia Tea love Trump. They love the guy who ran from military service as fast as he could. They love the guy who panders to vets, religious ideologues and racists.

Do Americans really want a television personality with zero credibility and 100% bigot rating? That's the real choice Republican Shia Tea must make. Cruz has failed as a Senator, (reported: much of the Senate refuses to work with Cruz.) and rest of the GOP/Tea disaster is self evident in their history of hatred for ordinary Americans.

The Republican'ts have attacked every demographic, from American elderly to American children, and now they fondle an old racist for their new Messiah of Hate.

What self respecting American veteran votes for Trump's megalomania that promises to send more to die in the desert? What American parent thinks Trump's Wars are in their children's interest? What ludicrous line of reasoning gives a klepto a key to the US Treasury? Only a Republican Shia-Tea idiot.

At leaste forty-one percent of them apparently want to.

Funny that there is plenty of feed back from Americans posting at this site (opinions from foreigners mean nothing because they have no dog in this fight) who are anti-Mr. Trump, and not a single word from them saying how good their democrat candidate(s) are. . . .

Why do you assume they're backing Democrats?

Credibility or fiscal insolvency no American wants.

Americans don't want credibility? Hmm...

Thanks to the miracle of DVRs, it was possible to watch both shows, and both were highly disturbing. Trump, for all the usual and obvious reasons, and the Fox News debate because the men on stage seemed also, though not equally, seriously out of touch with reality. Not a single Republican presidential contender is willing to discuss global warming, let alone admit that it is real, and they seem to think that it is enough to stand up on the stage and insist that "Obama is bad! Obama is bad!", without being able to discuss coherently why that statement should be taken seriously.

Not a single one of these GOP contenders should be allowed anywhere near the White House.

Trump is once again 10 steps ahead of the pack. He understands politics is a chess game while his opponents are playing checkers. Win or lose Trump has changed the future of politics in the U.S. forever.

A republican will be in the Oval Office in a year.

I doubt it, but scary if it happens.

“The level of [GOP candidates' ] dialogue on national security issues would embarrass a middle schooler. . . Either they really believe what they’re saying or they’re cynical and opportunistic and, in a way, you hope it’s the latter, because God forbid they actually believe some of the things that they’re saying.”

-- Robert Gates, Republican, former defense secretary (under GW and Obama) and CIA director under Bush Sr.

Reasonable Republicans are starting to jump ship.

The last time a Republican got in ( a bible-thumping, knuckle- dragging, cross-eyed Texan ) he set the Middle East on fire and saw a cataclysmic financial crash on his watch.

If you could isolate these primitives, you'd have a point.

Why are they even debating? The Republicans will lose the election anyway. I still believe the average americans got a brain...

Said another way, Trump Patriots couldn't care less that their Messiah is a draft dodger many times over. More false Patriotism from a false god and fan base of imbeciles.

Sanders is awesome.

Trump is avoiding hard questions for damage control. When he gets involved in shouting match, he himself does not know what comes out from his mouth. Democracy starts with public debate in good faith.. If he is not willing to do that, then he is disqualified to be the candidate, period. He is FIRED!

Hm. Trump or no Trump, these debates are doing very little for Republican. With so many Clowns still tripping over themselves while stumbling out of the Car, and around the Big Top, theres little time for substance. Which, of course, doesn't really matter that much, b/c the Clowns only vie to see who can use as many buzzwords and talking points that everyone has already heard. Maybe after Iowa and New Hampshire, those who are running just to sell books and beef up their street cred with a targeted niche of the conservative talk circuit will drop out, and the dynamic will change.

But its probable that Republican lookie-loos will have to wait a lot longer.

Trump is stuck at 35%. And Cruz is in it for the long haul. He is going for delegates.

The governor of Guam, Eddie Calvo, endorsed Ted Cruz yesterday. Whether this will help Cruz collect Guam's nine delegates to the Republican National Convention remains to be seen. But it illustrates Cruz's guiding principle: collect 1237 delegates. To him it is all about delegates, not popularity or polls or even Iowa and New Hampshire. He is diligently trying to collect as many delegates as he can from as many states and territories as he can. He went as far as sending a consultant to Guam for five weeks to try to garner support there. He sent the governor a cake on his birthday with icing on it reading "Happy Birthday Governor, Senator Ted Cruz." Cruz also sent flowers to the state funeral of the Republican governor of the Northern Mariana Islands, which also has nine delegates. He is almost certainly the only candidate with such an outreach operation. So no matter what happens in Iowa and New Hampshire, Cruz is playing the long game and is in this until the bitter end.

Too bad.

Another American who couldn't care less about anyone else but themselves.

Sounds very Trump-like. This one seems to be from a college of some type and isn't interested in anything different from their own opinion. Very collegiate.

Strange, or a typically American Trump fan?

Trump isn't a coward for skipping this last debate, he just didn't want to waste any more time arguing with Kelly, plus he wanted to prove he could win this debate without being there, as a couple of other posters here have said he did.

opinions from foreigners mean nothing because they have no dog in this fight

Don't dismiss us. Some of us meet with Americans all the time, and with our elegant and persuasive prose can have more of an influence than you might imagine. I suggest to all my US friends and acquaintances that they vote for the candidate with the most vowels in their surname. Many of them were taken with the idea.

Uh huh. And is that what Hillary or her husband Bill did - run away from military service as fast as they could?

“I’m a maniac and everyone on this stage is stupid, fat and ugly. And Ben, you’re a terrible surgeon,” Cruz said"

Har! But, in fact, Ted might actually be something of a maniac...

"Nationally, Trump keeps soaring"

No surprise there.

“I said I’m not going to do the debate out of respect for myself,” he said to cheers from the overflow crowd."

I can understand that. Why put up with a moderator who is clearly out to get you?
