I hope Duterte is imprisoned, actually.

If the Philippines' choice is between Duterte or Marcos family of politicians, then that country is destined to doom. One former president who is under ICC investigation for human rights abuse and the other who was a dictator for 21years. Now their children, current president and vice-president is running the country. How they both got elected is a testament on the type of government they have.

"You are lazy and you lack compassion. That's why we are unhappy," he said.

Sez the Duterte Pot to the Marcos Kettle.

How they both got elected is a testament on the type of government they have.

And to the masses who they gaslit to obtain their votes.

No, it's not. The Philippines had a good chance to elect Leni Robredo, who I think would've worked to improve the lives of ordinary Filipinos, but they chose Marcos in the end.

Duterte doesn't seem to understand (or care) that poverty and lack of opportunities is one of the major reasons that people commit crimes. Robredo would've tried to do something about that, unlike Duterte, who simply had such people shot.

Marcos hasn't been anywhere near as bad as I thought, but Robredo would've been much better in my opinion. Perhaps next time.

The word on the street is Duterte family is complicit with drug business.

The people murdered while he was “President” were in direct competition with other drug business families.

Both corrupt families who have enriched themselves off the public purse to the tune of $Billions. Yet, the Filipinos will keep voting for them.

Do poor and uneducated people in any country do or vote for anything that’s in their best interests? If so then Filipino women wouldn’t need to go abroad and wouldn’t need to remit all their earnings to feed a family they can’t afford and keep the economy afloat at the same time.

I figured China would be behind this somewhere. They will be promising stuff to the Duterte clan, and deepening the rift. Divide and conquer!

What you have here is the Duterte or Marcos family of politicians. In other words the "Crook or Crooked" is there a difference?

@Fighto - Both corrupt families who have enriched themselves off the public purse to the tune of $Billions.

I'm trying to think of country that isn't like that, but coming up dry.

The level of graft and corruption of the Marcos family in particular would put any 3rd world dictatorship to shame!
