Trump has proven to be so unfit to handle a crisis like this pandemic. The longer he is in charge, the more deaths we can foresee in the future. Had he not dismantled the pandemic response team that Obama had left in place, things could have been so different. Had Trump had the foresight that Obama had when dealing with the Ebola pandemic coming out of Africa during his time, we would have seen less deaths. Instead, we have a president who rather battle with the CDC and other experts who obviously know much more about this. Trump just cares about making himself look good.

Yes, forget the citizens

The president certainly has.

But cozy up to the dictators they like..in Iran, Cuba, Maduro....

Where is the country "Maduro"?

Americans won’t tolerate a puppet

This isn't true: they voted for one in 2016.

And an extra $600 in weekly unemployment benefits provided by the federal government on top of regular aid from the states will expire this month, unless replaced or extended. Those funds, along with the $1,200 relief checks sent out in April, enabled millions of Americans to stay current on housing costs and bills.

That must be nice money (weekly).

Don't worry too much about America....we'll be back to the ally we used to be to our many friends around the world...

Yes, forget the citizens, but as long as we can be friends with the French, let’s buy more French wine, screw California.....

and the opponent to the dictators and tyrants this president has cozy-ed up to...

But cozy up to the dictators they like..in Iran, Cuba, Maduro....

In Nov, we'll throw off the Trump-Putin cabal, and excise all the morons, felons, and traitors...

Sure....let’s get back to business with China...Xi must be happy. lol

Americans won't tolerate a President that ignores the deaths of potentially 200K of their fellow citizens due to his utter incompetence...

Americans won’t tolerate a puppet who’s strings are being pulled by the growing Marixist establishment.

Boyle Heights is a working class neighborhood covering 6.67 square miles.

I know Boyle heights very well, I really don’t need you to tell me, but thanks anyway. Crime rates were off the charts, it’s going down, but still not a neighborhood you want to raise your kids especially with a very strong gang culture ever present and for years like with every other Urban city area controlled and run by the Democrats, we see very little improvement. We don’t even hear the leaders talking about the COVID-19 number of cases in these communities on a daily basis. These cities and the rest of California and NY are a pretext as to how Biden if elected would further add to the degradation erosion of these communities. Hasn’t changed in 60 years and will never change under the Dems.

Some are intentionally screwing up the economy for a number of reasons...

I assume verification for this could be found on Qanon, somewhere on 8chan, infowars, maybe one of the 'foreign' owned sites.

zichi - A group of 83 millionaires have written to Trump demanding they pay a more fair share of tax.

The 83 millionaires can chose to pay twice, or three times, the amount they are currently paying. There are no laws limiting the amount they could pay to the government. Even you are allowed to give money to the U.S. Treasury. Please give generously.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Political theater. They can write a check to the “US treasury” anytime they like. They could buy food and donate it to a food bank. Many more things they could do instead of just virtue signaling.

the fact is a Biden Presidency will exceed any and all National debt what Trump created, of course it will.

The fact is, that's neither a fact, nor a matter of course.

I like how we skipped the "economy is recovering" phase. Liberals just went from the "economy is the worst its been since the Great Depression" to "corona is gonna stop your precious recovery, just wait and see!"

Stock market (which is no longer part of the economy now that it is good again) reached the level it had end of January during the day yesterday.

Retail sales rose 7.5% -but but but....credit card spending has stalled. why would that matter? Just means people arent spending as much online with cards and spending more in stores in cash, thats good for several reasons.

The governor of Georgia today banned cities from requiring facemasks. It's like they want the virus to spread or something.

Not buying it, depends on your point of view...

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-52015486

Well you're just saying that you support deficit spending for programs you like and you don't support deficit spending for programs you don't like.

Not just that I don’t like, don’t work. So throwing money to poor people is the answer? Don’t give me that garbage! Drive up to Compton or Oakland Boyle Heights and tell me how throwing money has helped these communities? You still see burnt out buildings from Watts riots and LA riots, you don’t see really a lot of major retailers. Walmart is gated and has a high security presence, so how has tax payer money helped these cities and I’m just talking specifically about those two in California.

That would mean deficit spending itself is irrelevant to you, thereby dismissing your claims of being "fiscal conservative."

Ummmm, wrong again....

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

The national debt under Trump has risen greater than any previous president of the same time. More than $5 trillion over three and a half years. First president to take it above the $20 trillion level and if he wins another term the first to take it over $30 trillion.

Facts always beat fantasy.

And the fact is a Biden Presidency will exceed any and all National debt what Trump created, of course it will. Just talking these dumb and unrealistic notion of reparations proposal will absolutely drain the economy, that’s just the tip of what the Democrats planned to do, not to mention defending the police in crime is already rising and when you have no police, the money that you have to spend on hired private security alone will go through the roof.

and those are facts, not fantasy.

Even into next year, unemployment likely to be in double figures. Ivanka Trump gave her version of "let them eat cake". She said the unemployed should "just find new jobs".

If the economy is good yes, what do liberals expect the jobs to follow their lap?

Infections are high, but deaths are low.

Some are intentionally screwing up the economy for a number of reasons...

2016 (last year of Obama's budget): Republican House, Republican Senate, Democratic President... budget deficit of $587 Billion.

2017 (first year of Trump's Budget): Republican House, Republican Senate, Republican President... budget deficit of $665 Billion

2018 (second year of Trump's Budget): Republican House, Republican Senate, Republican President... budget deficit of $779 Billion

No one is disputing that, but building the wall, building back up the military, modernizing it, re-building infrastructure and everything else Democrats could care less about. I don’t like it, but unless you’re willing to concede and drive on broken roads or bridges, have an ineffective military and the list goes on, don’t spend the money. I know liberals want and prefer the money go to more entitlements, planned parenthood and the teachers union.

And even before Covid, Trump's budgets were expected to have Trillion dollar deficits from 2020 onward. All approved happily by the Republicans in the Senate.

Again, if Biden is elected, watch that exceed anything Trump or even that Obama have spent.

Deflections, denials, and cherrypicking editorials from websites won't change those simple facts and numbers.

No one is doing that relax. I’m good, I’ll always have gold should Biden become President.

The economy is recovering quite nicely and ahead of schedule.

As if Trillion Dollar Deficit Donald is worried about actually balancing the books?

How when you have a House that even now if Biden wins is projected to exceed any debt that Trump has created.

Or the Republican party actually worried about fiscal responsibility?

Ridiculous.

Ok, so we should have a weak military all around, but we should spend more on lockdowns, protests, unemployment, more stimulus, forget crumbling infrastructure...

Yeah, ridiculous is right....

The logic here is you can't elect Biden, because I think he'll be even do worse on this topic than Trump.

Um, yeah...

More than 50k people are infected everyday in the US, It seems impossible to recover its economy soon. It would take a couple of years at least. They may need state of emergency and 24 hrs curfew at all states for some years to curb such pandemic there.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Same thing will happen here soon.

This article shows how perilous the situation is by the actions of people in the US. The virus will ravage more and more areas, leading to what could be a complete collapse of the US economy.

This is will shock you:

KnowBetter

The "nobody tells me what to do" attitude is what is causing this virus to spread wildly across the USA.

Absolutely agree with this. The US is a 'rights' based society, where their sense of personal rights seems to far exceed their sense of social responsibility much of the time. This is also a dear part of the perceived national identity as well and this pandemic has forced that socio-cultural fault line wide open as a considerable weakness that it freely exploits and joyously feeds on.

So confused about this are the American people, that they appear to believe that they are in a 'war' against the Virus that they will 'win' by staying true to American values and lifestyle, so press on with determination, apparently blind to the reality that this exact behaviour enables the spread of the virus, and increases sickness and death.

That's not a 'win' in my book, and it's bizarre to watch a skewed national psyche work so dramatically against the people.

How's that trickle-down on the general population working for the general population.

How’s raising taxes and regulations in an already fragile economy going to help? How will it help payroll or new hires, wages? More stimulus? Regulations? And if people don’t work how will the government create tax revenue?

While the 'haves' continue to have even more.

And always, always will...

SomethingS are fundamentally wrong with the US political-economic system when there is such great wealth disparity.

Like how?

-5 ( +3 / -8 )

When the 'leader' of the country has made so many statements downplaying the risks of the virus, when his media have echoed him, when social media 'influencers' and the Republican Rapid Response Team have echoed him, when 'foreign' states have used their paid (and 'volunteer') cyberattack keyboard warriors to downplay the virus, then it's to be expected many among the many of America's intellectually vulnerable, including Trump's truebelieving followers and the 'poorly educated' will heed his words.

Covid has exposed the gaslighting of the American right for what it is. The virus doesn't get confused by their gaslighting, nor does it have any political affiliation. The virus exposes its truth regardless of what Trump and his keyboard warriors say.

And due to so many countries facing the exact same firus, there is a clear contrast between the failure of the American system due to decades of this gaslighting, with the successes of other nations that have dealt with the issue realistically and transparently.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

How's that trickle-down on the general population working for the general population.

Covid has blatantly exposed the flaws in America of a culture without a social safety net. When things went bad, the elites (aka government) passed bills that made the elites (friends of the government) rich, while the people were left with nothing.

America the great, indeed. It's great if you're elite.

What is happening in the USA is mainly due to people NOT respecting one another. The "nobody tells me what to do" attitude is what is causing this virus to spread wildly across the USA.

Exactly, its "all 'bout me rahts and freedums! I ain't wearin no mask. I ain't no sheep. Its a lib hoax and I bench 200lbs so even if I get the virus, my immune system can handle it and I never get sick anyways."

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Trump, you are doing a great job.

Make America Great Again.

(I should make it clear that this is sarcasm as Americans often do not seem to understand British humour.)

I'm seeing the economic effect firsthand in a place that has the highest infection rate in the world, Phoenix Arizona.

No mask yahoos, feckless politicians, people still eating inside at restaurants, tattoo parlors, hair and nail salons open . . .

We're headed off a cliff like lemmings.

6 ( +9 / -3 )

Infections are now climbing in 40 states, and 22 states have either paused or reversed efforts to reopen their economies, according to Bank of America.

If you look at Canada right next door to the USA, that level of selfishness is but a speck and why Canada especially in the west, has managed to bring the numbers way down.

Why is it so hard for people to just use a little common sense? Most of Canada is reopening now and testing is high to trace the virus and stop its spread. This has nothing to do with taking away your rights and everything to do with saving lives and going back to normal. You wouldn't go back into a burning building or forest if they had it 90% contained would you?
