Once again, you just have to look at these clowns to know the Dems are back in next year.

Well, let's hope that Romney remembers these words if Perry gets the nomination, and campaigns for Obama :)

There are a lot of reasons not to elect other people on this stage.

Finally we agree on something other than healthcare! - though actually it's hard to say if we still agree on that as well. Anyway, keep up the bobbin', guys: it's entertaining enough now, and is sure to only get more so.

If only it were true. But it isnt.Obama could win the presidency but the Senate is going to go repub and the House already is.They creamed us in Novv 2010. Obama is now a millstone on Democrat's' necks.

LIeberman,

The johnson line came from rush limbaugh, where of course conservatives get 90 percent of their ideas.

American does not want what bush and the republicans did to the country again. The country today is still trying to recover from failed unfunded wars, economic meltdown with the collapse of capitalism inches from happening and screwing over the middle class and the poor. Obama will win as no one wants the bush years repeated by another texas loser or utah con man.

the Senate is going to go repub and the House already is.

Why should that matter? Even when there were Dem. majorities in both houses Obama was stumbling through an obstacle course. Ariana Huffington got it right when she said that for the past 30 decades the political system has been hell bent on destroying America's middle class. And God help any politician who advocates going after vested interests or taxing the rich -- the Koch brothers will eat him or her for breakfast.

Romney: "There are a lot of reasons not to elect me"

Oh my...

I'd like to see Obama and Hillary Clinton go after each other again for the Democratic nomination.

" "My next door neighbor's two dogs have created more shovel-ready jobs than this current administration," "

Ha ha! That was funny - and I say that as a whippet owner, whose every pair of trousers contains several ウンチ袋 at all times.

Yes, funny - but true? Well, according to the New Mexico Office of Recovery and Reinvestment:

A new report by the University of New Mexico's Bureau of Business and Economic Research shows the Recovery Act supported 24,000 jobs through June 2010, and is expected to support another 23,000 jobs through June 2011.

Fact check: if his neighbor's two dogs had produced 24,000 "unchi" over a two-year period, that would have worked out to 6,000 "unchi" per year per dog, or 16.4 "unchis" per day. Now, my whippet produces on average 2.5 "unchis" per day - though granted, he's a whippet; a retriever or some such larger breed might be more productive in that area.

The stimulus funds that went to New Mexico and other states have allowed them to blunt the most severe repercussions of the recession. Coincidentally, Republicans seem also to measure employment in "unchi," and for them, the stimulus is just a big pile of it. For elementary school students and struggling worker, though, it is a lifeline.

Also, we don't need to get into the fact that all of the Republican candidates have a broad history benefiting from Federal largess, and that all Republican governors were happy to accept stimulus dollars when they were available, only to decry them later: that is all too well-known.

By the way, for those not hip to these Republican personalities, I offered the above reference to New Mexico as the author of the zinger was former N.M. Gov. Gary Johnson.

Wake me up when Sarah Palin declares her candidacy.

Perry was once a member of the Democrat party but flipped over to the dark side.

Everyone makes mistakes.

Democrats are Marxist collectivists and Republicans are warmongering Fascists. America needs a new political system.

Last night's RP debate was mostly inconclusive, but I do think Ron Paul's performance will help him inch up in the polls from 13% to 17% over the next week or two. But the big news is that Thad McCotter dropped out of the race. That's two down now.

Next one to go? Gary Johnson.

I'd like to see media outlets at least pretend to be interested in Ron Paul. He won the California and New Hampshire straw poll and only lost the Iowa poll by less than 1%, he's been raising funds like crazy, and he's got the most consistent voting record in congress. Admittedly he's kind of old and doesn't look particularly presidential but at least it would be a change of pace. I'm not saying he should be painted as our deliverance from woe but at least give him a little credit.

As it stands I'll probably end up voting for the libertarian party or some write in like I do every year. It gets tiresome voting for republicrats, I've given up trying to tell them apart.

These guys are the same party, right?

I liked that the other day mitt promised not to be phoney and not to pander to the audience. And then he called himself a member of the middle class. He's worth between $190 and $250 million and he calls himself a member of the middle class, right after saying he won't be phoney or pander to the audience.

You can't make this stuff up.

No matter who wins the average American will lose.

Taka313,

I think Mitt meant "culturally middle class"--that he has pedestrian middle class tastes in fashion, food, architecture, etc.

He had to have a focus group tell him to take off his tie. Not too middle class

Taka313,

Mitt wore a tie for this debate, but for the next one in mid-October, he should wear a golf shirt with a little crocodile on it. Mormon casual.

Ever notice how Ron Paul always looks like a physician, no matter what he wears?

Oh Republicans...

http://edition.cnn.com/2011/09/23/politics/congress-fema-funding/index.html

"The bill -- which would keep Washington running through November 18 -- includes critical new disaster funding assistance for states hit hard by a series of recent natural disasters. But Republicans want less disaster aid than their Democratic counterparts, and want to pay for it partly by slashing funding for programs designed to spur clean energy innovation. One key sticking point is that the House bill requires that the $1 billion in immediate disaster funding be offset with $1.5 billion in cuts to a loan program that helps automakers retool their operations to make more fuel-efficient cars. "

When I read things like this I can't help but think Republicans must get excited about funding problems. It gives them another chance to force their ideology onto the public. People are in need of help because of the large number of recent disasters and Republicans are thinking, "Hey, maybe we can use this to our advantage and cut funding for clean energy." By holding the wallet hostage they're basically passing or killing legislation that they wouldn't otherwise have the votes for. They're essentially circumventing democracy.

Rather accurate take on Ron Paul's influence within the RP:

The comments section of your link says everything that I was going to.

TheQuestion,

The election of Ron Paul to the U.S. Presidency would be a textbook example of a Black Swan Event.

So, did you donate anything to his latest Money Bomb?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I hope to see a debate between Obama and some challengers from within the party.Cuomo or HRC could easily replace him.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

So, did you donate anything to his latest Money Bomb?

Nope, nor have I ever donated to any political candidate. RP's chance of getting the Republican nomination are slim to nill, but he still deserves some credit for the level of support he has accumulated in the primary. But instead of giving him the media time he deserves news outlets seem to be more interested in giving screen time to Bachmann and Santorum.

If by some miracle Paul did win the primary I might actually break my life long voting trend and cast my ballot for him, Not likely though.

TheQuestion,

The RP has switched their delegate allocation system for Presidential primaries from winner-take-all to proportional, so they're now just like the DP. That switch makes the nomination of a candidate like Ron Paul, while still very difficult, now a real possibility.
