Donot take it seriously ! it is just a show for making his points ( one of the rare opportunities he managed to get before disappearing ) and if luck enough, getting a few votes..

Perry worries me more than Romney.Romney is a squish. If the reasonable, moderate voices in the media are too fearful to report that many of us want Obamma to face a challenger from his own party well then those folks at Newsweek and so forth should do more to enhance Romney' s image.

allperils,

And that's different from politics in what other part of the world?

Seriously, I'm a progressive, but all the unjustified hate on America gets pretty disgusting.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Yes...China needs to be slapped! The 2.16million jobless across america and 6000casualties from iraq and afghanistan battlefields has 'ashamed' the image of Uncle sam who is theworld's bigggest saviour against islamic terrorisms! How dare they 'stabbed our back'??? What America needs is 'the mormom who is going to save the world'!

"slap China"

Americans will always be Americans. Anything for a few votes.

"labor unions, which overwhelmingly back Democrats in elections"

I was in a union once. To work at this factory employees were required to join the union and pay dues.

The union leaders were people I wouldn't invite over for dinner or even lunch, and I am 100% sure my union dues went to no good.

And if Romney were, through some horrible joke, to get office, China would simply say "no" and there's not a think he or anyone could do about it.

Romney's position on China, taxes, and drilling is probably more 'liberal' than the current PM in Canada - whoever that is...

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

"And if Romney were, through some horrible joke, to get office"

Obama being re-elected would be the biggest joke in American history. Except that joke would do severe damage to the country.

"Mittens"

The One.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

Casting himself as America’s CEO...

I really wouldn't do that if I were Mittens. Because if one looks into Mittens record as a CEO, you'll find out that he was not successful at creating jobs.

"under Romney’s economic policies Massachusetts saw a net gain of only 45,800 jobs; a growth rate of 1.42 percent. Other estimates vary. For example, the Massachusetts Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development estimates job growth of 51,400 over that period. But in another analysis by Moody’s Economy.com, the number was lower: only 24,400. That placed Massachusetts 47th among all states in job creation from January 2003 to January 2007. Nonfarm seasonally adjusted jobs across the United States grew by 5.265 percent throughout the entire U.S. The Romney economy in Massachusetts significantly underperformed compared to other states in terms of job creation."

So, that's how Mittens performed in a NON-recession economy. How many jobs is he going to create when the situation is even worse than what he's used to?

Not many, I fear.

"Should any political party attempt to abolish social security, unemployment insurance and eliminate labor laws and farm programs, you would not hear of that party again in our political history. There is a tiny splinter group, of course, that believes you can do these things. Among them are H. L. Hunt (you possibly know his background), a few other Texas oil millionaires and an occasional politician or business man from other areas. Their number is negligible and they are stupid." (President Eisenhower, writing to his brother Edgar in 1954.)

My, how quickly "stupid" has become mainstream in the Republican Party.

And as for the Drill for oil in Alaska" part of his plan:

Oil exploration under Arctic ice could cause 'uncontrollable' natural disaster (Michael McCarthy, The Independent) http://tinyurl.com/3hh2gk8

The biggest thing that a mormon can bring to the discussion on China which hasnt been done so much before is their one child policy. Now that would involve some slapping!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

maybe I mean approachable rather than breachable-heck you get it!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Seriously I think it is good someone starts to talk about China-and because it is Romney it is a breachable topic without stepping on the toes of those who will more than likely come out ahead of Romney. If you are pitying America you are treating them as fools. I wouldnt be doing that just yet.

How many years does our american friends understood all politicians in their country has sold them out to communist China? You know why China is the biggest creditor of US? Because there is a fmily known as 'the Bush' living in Texas, they waging two massive and long wars without complete in his two terms presidency, thats why the debts were mounting and mounting! What is the difference between Mr Bush and Mr Romnery? Thet were republicans, they have a big mouth to spell out some anti-Chinese slogans but in fact they sold america like scrap metals! Slapping China is an awesome idea but do you guys truly believe that will comes true? Do you believes the mormoms has no business link with communist China? Wake up my american friends, I have been pity all of you!

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

America's biggest problem is actually the huge number of so-called "low-information voters". The average US citizen spends the grand total of 5 minutes working out who to vote for, and can be misled with ease.

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

It's seems okay to mock Mitt Romney for being a mormon, but not to suspect Obama for his muslum roots. Maybe because Romney is an "evil" white guy, and we're all suppose to boost up the black Obama. White guilt at it's best. Whites are their own worst enemies. Build up an empire, then become liberals and give it away.

Wow Eric Cartman posts on JT!

1 ( +2 / -1 )

@AlphaApe,

I'm sorry, but Mitt Romney is, in fact, a Mormon. Referring to Barack Obama as B. Hussein Obama serves to falsely imply that he's a Muslim or is disproportionately influenced by a Muslim ancestry. You want to go after Obama for all his Christianity? Be my guest.

It's the same way ridiculous right-wingers refer to Democrats as "The Democrat Party" in some insane, vain attempt to make Democrats seem less legitimate.

And, @Tatanka, you should look up the word "hyperbole" and then you'll see where I was coming from.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

All readers, please keep the discussion civil.

No, it's the conservatives who are destroying the empire, and trying to turn average americans into minimum-wage slaves, while demanding taxpayer funded bailouts for wall street and the banksters.

And mr obama is showing himself to be a true conservative at heart.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

It is. Not gonna mock anyone's name though, whether it's Willard, Abd or Louise. So it could be Willard vs Hussein in 2012!

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Back on topic please.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

soldave - lol! :-)

Is 'Willard' really his name?

Are you serious?

No wonder he doesn't use it.

He needs to sue his parents. :-)

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Also, did you write G Walker Bush in the same way. Just seems a little irregular as usually a first name is stated, along with middle initial. Not often you see the common first name given in just an initial form and then the middle, lesser-used name written in full. S Louise Palin, or S H Abd al-Majid al-Tikriti for example

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Tatanka - No it wouldn't. At best it would be a moot point but not really a mute one. So do you think Willard M. Romney will be better than Barack Obama?

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Tatanka - "HumanTarget: before you post, take the time check out the meaning of slander "the act of saying something false or malicious that damages somebody reputation"

So by referring to the President B. Hussein Obama is NOT slanderous by any stretch of the imagination."

No, emphasising the president's middle name - that just so happens to be the same as that of a dictator - is nothing less than a desperate, hopeless and completely unnecessary attempt to slander (check the meaning of the word 'malicious' in the definition you posted) Barack Obama.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

No, Romney's jobs plan - like that of the rest of the conservative 'leaders' is to cut spending.

In many cases, that means cutting the money paid to states to fund construction and social programs, essential repairs, etc. that support millions of jobs.

So, Romney and the conservatives' 'cut spending' mantra also mean 'cut jobs.'

And all the while, they ask "Where are the jobs?"

Well, their 'plan' sure as heck isn't going to create any!

0 ( +2 / -2 )

HumanTarget: before you post, take the time check out the meaning of slander "the act of saying something false or malicious that damages somebody reputation"

So by referring to the President B. Hussein Obama is NOT slanderous by any stretch of the imagination. Further, stating the President's name in this manner does not damage his reputation since that is his name.

Anyway, it will be a mute point come January 21, 2013. People will then be saying Barak who?

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Ignoring Our Sarah and Michelle Bachmann, I think the only GOP presidential candidate funnier and with less chance of winning that Mitt Romney is Rick Perry.

Hold on.....it's the other way around.

Hang on.... :-)

Asagao

Actually, it's as unscientific to claim that there is no god as it is to claim that there is. There is no irrefutable scientific evidence that proves either position, at least at this time.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

The majority of acedemic no that there is no god. Therefore, to have a devout Christian as the commander in chief is probably not a good idea, especially someone from a cult.

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Mr Romney......the mormom

I see what you did there. You shortened his first name and used his middle name, which sounds more Muslim, to scare people. That's very clever. Where did you learn this extremely effective slander technique?

@HumanTarget: Since you are the PC police, will you go after just-a-guy for going after Romney's religion, or are his comments acceptable? Can't have it both ways. If people say that people use Pres. Obama's middle name to drive a point, then aren't they doing the same thing about Romney and his religion?

0 ( +1 / -1 )

sanction China over its currency practices = slap china , haha

Japan also needs to slap china then too.

Actually if japan and the USA boycotted china it might sit up and take notice and stop playing the currecy manipluation game.

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Mr Romney......the mormom who is going to save the world against evil China!! Too silly to be true!! I wonder how many doors he has knocked during his missionaries?

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Meanwhile over on Yahoo the headline reads: Obama drops, Perry suges in new poll...

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Most of what I've read says drilling in the US just isn't cost effective at this point. And the China issue will just start a trade war where both sides lose so that angle has been rejected as well.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

Tatanka,

I see what you did there. You shortened his first name and used his middle name, which sounds more Muslim, to scare people. That's very clever. Where did you learn this extremely effective slander technique?

4 ( +4 / -0 )

Tatanka - how come you stress the middle name of Barack H. Obama? I have noticed people didn't write G. Walker Bush. Or are you trying to use his middle name as something that would incite fear into people, because it's the same as a former dictator's surname?

4 ( +5 / -1 )

Romney may not be the best choice, but the real nightmare is if B. Hussein Obama (by some miracle) gets re-elected...

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

And if Romney were, through some horrible joke, to get office, China would simply say "no" and there's not a think he or anyone could do about it.

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

America should "selectively default" on the Chinese debt like they did to us... http://americanbondholdersfoundation.com/

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Think it will be China slapping America.
