You sound like the socialist system in China.

I sound like the socialist system in china because I want candidates to have to reveal basic stuff about themselves before they run for office? How you figure that? Wheres the comparison?

Molenir at 05:28 AM JST - 28th April. 10 years worth of tax information, birth certificate, criminal record if any, etc, etc, etc. All this stuff should be released when you're a candidate, much less the actual President of the United States. And not just candidate for Potus, but Senators and Reps, even on the state level. Not releasing this info makes it seem like you have something to hide.

You sound like the socialist system in China. Well, its part of democracy, its part of what the American people want, they want to be able to vote for somebody to represent them in Washington and FBI does not get in the way of that. The American political process is about as rigorous as you’ll ever see and if there’s dirt back there, probably the opponent is gonna get it out probably before anyone else will. FBI does not perform background checks on candidates but members of Congress and the Senate are given top secret clearances.

It's reported that people are demanding that Obama release his actual BIRTH CERTIFICATE and the alledgedly transparent Obama still refuses to produce his actual BIRTH CERTIFICATE. Personally, I'm willing to take the word of the head of Hawaiian medical department that Obama was born in Hawaii but still wonder why Obama is hiding his BIRTH CERTIFICATE from public view.

See, thats the thing. What is he afraid of? Why is he hiding this? I mean apart from a few historians, most people are only going to care that he actually did release the information, that he is transparent as he said he was going to be. In my opinion, anyone who runs for office should be required to release this kind of stuff. Like Bush and his arrest for DUI.

TorafusuTorasan - Well, the long form birth certificate was picked up in Hawaii and delivered in person by the white house counsel, so what other lame theories are birthers going to latch onto?

By "long form" birth certificate are refering to the CERTIFICATE OF LIVE BIRTH that has been touted by the Obamanation as being just as good as the actual BIRTH CERTIFICATE? "Just as good" is not the same thing as the original document.

Hmm, your silliness aside, I still wonder, why the heck did it take him so long to release it? Why didn't he release this 3 years ago when he was first asked about it? Honestly, once he releases his birth certificate, it becomes a non issue. Some people might claim its a forgery, but who really cares.

Back on Ron Paul now. I like the guy. He has been preaching fiscal restraint for a long time now. Back when it was Republicans over spending. Some of his other issues are questionable, but at least on fiscal policy, he makes some sense.

To be fair to TheMarion, he did have a follow up post about some unknown lawyer in California whose lawsuit would disqualify the President. It got deleted before TheMarion got back from the kitchen with his coffee refill.

TheMarion - What makes you think Obama will not run for re-election? He knows no one the Republicans or any other party nominate can beat him, unless the economy completely collapses by next November.

Sarge: Sorry, but you are wrong - Obama will not be in the race.

“They are perpetuating the same habits that gave us our last crisis.”

No, it is the same crisis. Ron Paul sometimes says some interesting stuff, but at the end of the day he is just another guy who doesn't understand, or pretends he doesn't understand, what money is and where it comes from. Not just in the USA, same fools everywhere.

Voting for him would be as laughable as a liberal voting for Chomsky.

Ron Paul was on the Colbert Report tonight. The last thing he mentioned was that he wanted to eliminate income taxes.

Well how does he expect to pay for stuff? No more road repairs? No more military? No EPA? No CDC?

Insanity.

Ron who?

How followers does Obama have? How many followers does Ron Paul have?

Obama is just miles ahead,of the competition

He'll be 76 in August.

May be, but I don't think it can be assured. The Republicans spent years destroying their own economy, then got rewarded with mid-term elections! Then blame Obama for everything. It's weird watching this stuff. Everyone speaks English but I don't understand what they're on.

Obama will trounce him, and and other challengers.
