Asking about the colour of someone’s skin is not racist. To claim racism illustrates an insecurity towards ones own race or conveniently using the race card as a weapon.

"Queen Elizabeth "Understands" Why Meghan Markle Is Missing Prince Philip's Funeral"

https://www.townandcountrymag.com/society/tradition/a36119471/queen-elizabeth-reaction-meghan-markle-missing-prince-philip-funeral/

In preparation for Prince Philip's funeral this Saturday, Prince Harry recently flew back to the United Kingdom. Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, made efforts to attend alongside her husband, but her doctors did not clear her for travel, as the Duchess is in the third trimester of her pregnancy.

Though Meghan cannot attend in person, a source told People that both she and Harry were "in contact" with Queen Elizabeth after the Duke of Edinburgh's death.

"It was always a given that Harry would return to England for his grandfather's passing," the California-based source said. "Meghan expressed condolences. The Queen understands why she can't travel at the moment."

Meghan Markle isn’t going to Prince Philip’s funeral partly because she “doesn’t want to be the center of attention” — although the final decision was Prince Harry’s, a report said Monday.

Markle also sees the funeral as a chance for her husband to try to privately heal his rift with brother Prince William and father Prince Charles without her in the picture, they said.

Besides, “Meghan said attending or not attending Prince Philip’s funeral isn’t going to change her relationship with the Queen,” the friend noted. “She said the Queen understands her absence and would want her to stay safe and healthy for the baby.’’

Meghan and Harry already a step too far. No going back. They claim to be ex-royals. Just not Mrs&Mr. Queen must decide if Harry can use HRH for the funeral which effects his seating position.

James, there is nothing wrong with speculating on what a baby will look like. It is perfectly natural and happens all the time- will he have his father's eyes? his mother's hair? etc. Why is one quality (complexion) off limits to discussion?

Philip was a national treasure. His passing may allow Harry to have some time alone, step away from his toxic marriage to a wokester and begin to rediscover himself. He has seemed like a bit 'whipped since his marriage.

Harry is with a toxic woman, it happens to the best of men.

Add to that the jet lag and reverse culture shock and this will be a tough trip for him. However, I have met a few brits who assimilated well in the US and like the lack of stress compared to the social system back in their home country. I think he will be fine in the long run if he focuses on raising his kids and enjoying life in California.

Glad she's not invited,

She was in invited but flying while heavily pregnant, especially during a pandemic, is not recommended. I just hope Harry gets a negative PCR test in Friday or he won’t be able to attend.

@joeunc

totally agree - People are slapping around the word ‘racist’ too flippantly these days.

The queen has decided there will no family members wearing military uniforms and instead in a break with tradition they will wear "Suits." Is that a reference to Meghan?

Hope some time away back with his family will get him some clarity of what he has become.

Then its up to him to decide if that what he wanted/expected to become, or if it was something else.

Harry’s wife thinks his family is racist. I don’t see how they can reconcile from a slander like that absent a full retraction and apology.

if you don’t think the royal family is racist, try watching YouTube videos or articles in UK media, like the Guardian.

Hard to tell. They are such a weird family. I also wondered why they didn’t reveal who made the allegedly racist remark(s).

Philip was a national treasure.

Why? Because he married a princess and cracked jokes?

I’d reserve ‘national treasure’ for people who made great contributions and actually achieved something - David Attenborough ( although he doesn’t like the expression ), Tim Berners-Lee, Jane Goodall, Paul McCartney etc.

Stick me or pretty much anyone else in Philip’s position and we could do that job.

Anyway, I think the Harry/Meghan nonsense will soon fade into obscurity. They lack the charm or charisma to do too many more Oprah Winfrey style shows. They’ll need a good PR operator to help them cash in here.

Well Idling asking what color do you think the baby will be.

This is racist the color of the baby should never have even been a thought.

Health, having all fingers and toes, and not having stick out ears like his father should have been the only concerns they had.

Glad she's not invited, that's the last thing that family needs and they need time to heal without this woman causing further damage.

I think Harry totally agrees, he was there with Oprah.

what is interesting is that the couple said, Phillip is well known for racism, but it was one or more other members. Asked who, they wouldn’t say.

metinks, they are holding back to write a best selling book and tv tour, after the queen joins her husband...
