They are happy to be famous and rich but won't pay the price that comes with that status. Also as ambassadors to the world they should be careful and not cavort around naked, ESPECIALLY since they know the paparazzi is always watching. The US court ruled that Pamella Anderson forewent privacy because she was famous and that it was part of the parcel. The Royals should act royal or denounce their royalty like the rest of us who would get the sack for not fulfilling our work commitments. Therefore I don't think they should be comensated

Leve them alone.

Why European society as a whole love gossips, tabloid magazines? I never get myself involved with people who love gossips and tabloid magazines. They have anything good to say..

On the one hand, good on them, fight back. Leave public people alone, paparazzi (and no, elbuddhamexicano, I would not take those pix and sell them if I had a better camera. (btw, see the pix yet? Doesn't look like a good camera to me...))

On the other hand, if we all just walked around butt naked all the time, this wouldn't be news.

I can see both sides of this but I would say that if you're going to get rich from being a high profile person then you should know that there are going to be people who will do anything to make a headline out of your behaviour. It may be unethical, it may even be illegal, but you dang well know it's going to happen. So take the necessary precautions!

I have no idea if French privacy laws are anything like those in the U.S., but being in the middle of an 800 acre estate would mean that Will and Kate had a "reasonable expectation of privacy."

" The most effective way to rein in the paparrazzi would be if the British government used one of their security agencies to put out hits on a couple of them "

How about if instead the royal family used some of their wealth to hire papparazis to stalk the offending Papparazis. Make them feel how it is like to be hounded by goons with cameras all day long.

The royal soap opera continues...

I have no sympathy for the paparazzis, but really aren´t the Royals just adding more interest to the story by getting so upset? Why don´t they just ignore it. And buyers of these magazines are also an embarrassment for human intelligence. With all these crazy things going on in the world, they care most about some grainy pictures of royal mammaries... really now.

"The most effective way to rein in the paparrazzi would be if the British government used one of their security agencies to put out hits on a couple of them."

I would rather they be put to use getting rid of bearded nuts calling people to murder and riot because of a film than I would having them bumping off people trying to image Kate's boobies. She's a pretty girl but she's hardly well-stacked if we're fair.

They're making a mountain out of a molehill to be blunt.

"You do know that France has some of the strictest privacy laws in the world, right?"

Heh, I was assuming Smith had packed in French history classes sometime before they got to the Entente Cordiale when I read his post earlier.

The royals will win the case, but it's all a moot point. I'm presuming the cost of the fine and legal battle won't add up to the financial benefits of such a "scoop".

The most effective way to rein in the paparrazzi would be if the British government used one of their security agencies to put out hits on a couple of them. Not likely going to happen, though . . .

In an editorial the magazine's director, Alfonso Signorini, attempted to justify the decision to print the images by saying he considered them to be "normal and up to date with the times".

The above from the BBC home page.

Who does this pipsqueak think he is he can decide what is normal and up to date? People like him are guided by the ab-normal and im-moral.

Sadly, the royals won't win, as France and England have always had their disputes.

You do know that France has some of the strictest privacy laws in the world, right? It's Italy they need to be worried about. Not that it matters - the bird has flown the coop, as it were.

Look, if these bozos go around butt naked and think no one is going to say, $$$$$!!

The problem is the extent to take the photos in order to make the "$$$$$". If she happened to be walking around town butt naked then no problem. I'm sure you know that though. Just another comment posted as an excuse to write $$$$$$.. that seems to be your thing.

Look, if these bozos go around butt naked and think no one is going to say, $$$$$!! Time to take a few pics, just keep smoking your banana peels, because taking pics of very famous people is just big, big $$$$$$!! Give the paparrazzi a break, they are just like you and me, but with real good cameras.

The paparazzo is like your creepy neighbor that you did not know about beforehand, hahaha.

Cho88: Sadly, the royals won't win, as France and England have always had their disputes. They might to better against Ireland, as they have more leverage. And as for the scumbags themselves, I think it should heretofore be made legal that you can punch in the face anyone taking pictures of private property, and smashing their cameras should be considered a punishment as well.

I don't think that the press should be able to publish nude photos of anybody that is on private ground. Celebrity or non-celebrity. These vultures are horrible, horrible people. I hope the royals win the case.

It's about time we put a serious lid on the paparazzi. The magazine should be made to tell who the photographer was and then fire him. They should then print everything available on his family and loved ones so he knows a little bit about hit feels.

Sorry, but if you are young, have a nice pair of tatas, and the whole world wants to take a look at them, this is bound to happen. But I doubt her tatas a much to look at, just get over it and sunbathe in safer places, indoors??

"OMG, but what about the public's "right to know"?"

FFS! The public has a right to know about the issues that may impact them, not what any woman's baps look like.

OMG, but what about the public's "right to know"?

It appears the case for conviction is very strong under French criminal law. No word yet about Ireland or Itally.

Good.
