You still need to add perspective though, Alex. India, for example, has a population almost 10 times the size in an area less than half. It’s not so easy to make these comparisons just on infection numbers alone.

Lockdowns are not necessary if sense prevails. Vaccines and masks work.

How long before the pandemic sweeps through all of Mr. Putin's forward-deployed units about to invade Ukraine? Would that not be one of the most amazing things, if Omicron were to delay or disrupt an invasion?

Didn't Russia announce a vaccine before Pfizer and didn't Putin's daughter take the Russian vaccine? Maybe it was a false report on August 11, 2020? Maybe it works, no mention of her health condition.
