Bwahahaha.

All the expertise one would expect of the “mighty” Russian space program.

the decline of Russia's space power

Russia has been racing against India

Are you seriously?

Space is not a place for competition. Space must unite countries

who cares it takes practice to make perfect.

At this point, I think we'll all be long dead before it makes any difference to Humanity anything they do there

Space is hard

But it is a step-down from the days when the Soviet Union were landing probes as far as Venus

Russia should spend more money on their scientists instead of online trolls and hackers. Russian scientists used to be the envy of the world, but now ya hardly hear about any Russian scientist

Space is not a place for competition.

That's how it started with the USSR and USA, and it spurred both countries to advance faster than anybody expected

The smart engineers all left, what can you expect?

10 ( +11 / -1 )

Heard the engineers said it wasn’t ready and some parts not up to necessary standard but told to launch early anyway, political decision to beat India, didn’t work out too well.

Crashing moon landers, leaky capsules, Mars probes that don’t even get out of the atmosphere, new launch site way over budget and years late due to incompetence and massive systemic corruption. Yep, their amazing space programme leads the world, in to the dustbin of history.

What's up with Russians naming stuff Sputnik?

Sputnik for satellites, Sputnik for Covid vaccines.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Yikes. Nice $200 million photo, I guess. Any more?

5 ( +5 / -0 )

What an appropriate metaphor for Russia under Putin.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

Landing on the moon is a precision operation, not like boiling a dog alive in an iron tube.

4 ( +5 / -1 )

What a shame.

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

What’s that word for taking pleasure in the misfortune of others?

Schadenfreude.

Well, if Musk failed, Russia can fail too..

Russia will try it and will achieve it..

Well, if Musk failed, Russia can fail too..

Musk is a newbie. Russia has a history, but yes, Russia CAN fail too.

Russia will try it and will achieve it..

Will they? Try or achieve?

Given their history, wouldn't it be more acccurate to say they will get drunk and give up?

Given their history, wouldn't it be more acccurate to say they will get drunk and give up?

I fear that I must ammend my words.

There is the distinct possibility that they will get drunk, embezzle MORE funds and fail again.

That could also happen as well.

Apologies for the oversight.

Well, if Musk failed, Russia can fail too..

Russia is really failing enough for everyone lately.
