They failed once before and they can fail again. Meanwhile 16,000 terrorists died in Adviidka.

Wonder if there will be a Spring offensive this year?

More than 100,000 Russians killed since the start of the war. More than 200,000 injured.

There's no point to the bloodshed, it's time for a negotiated peace.

To be free from Russia, that is the point.

Russia will accelerate the liberation of more land..

Get used to it..

Russian President Vladimir Putin took a co-pilot’s seat to fly in a Tu-160M strategic bomber Thursday after visiting an aircraft manufacturing plant in Kazan, a city east of Moscow.

Let me know when he lands it without assistance.

You don't have to negotiate an unconditional ceasefire.

Adviidka was Ukraine's most hardened strategic position and it fell. Imagine what's taking place now out in the open during this panic tactical retreat?

Getting ugly fast for Ukraine, Kiev's blackhole corruption failure will not continue for long. Per Time Magazine Ukraine survey work below, strong peace trend, more people in Ukraine now want peace and to settle the war, rather than more senseless death and destruction.

The former Top Ukraine General Z was right of course, Ukraine can ONLY lose more, there's no path to victory, pure fantasy. He knows foreign $support's conditioned upon battlefield success, that's not happening.

Where are Ukraine's promised F-16's?! Seems NATO support, similar to US Congress, growing VERY hesitant.

PUTAin sending more of his marauders thru the meat-grinder.

So far Russians KIA are more than 400.000!

Again: what happened to that 3-day-limited operation.

This will become an even worse disaster than Afghanistan for that little dictator in the Kremlin!

Guess he never expected the willingness and strength of Ukrainians to defend their homeland.

Good to hear, too, that Germany (amongst others) is finally getting ready to provide Ukraine with longer range weapons (too bad that Cunctator Maximus Scholz still doesn't approve the delivery of TAURUS). Britain will provide another 200 missiles, fighter jets are coming (or have arrived already looking at the Russian jet losses), Denmark just approved another aid package, and hopefully others will follow!

Ukraine prevails!

If Ukraine can't prevail at HEAVILY fortified Adviidka, then starting to win now, while out in the open and in retreat is pure fantasy. Sad fact, they're getting slaughtered. Time for the "REFERREE" to call this thing!

Nobody in WORLD is increasing their confidence in Ukraine prevailing, JUST the OPPOSITE.

There's no point to the bloodshed, it's time for a negotiated peace.

The point is Putin’s objective. How many more Russians need to shed blood to achieve that. It’s on Russians to end this and withdraw.

Below, view of someone who's WELL informed. It's obvious Ukraine's military in panic retreat mode now.

*Ex-CIA director and former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates **says Russia has broken the stalemate in Ukraine and is 'on the offensive' along the 600-mile war front.*

"Everything I'm reading is that Russians are sort of on the offensive all along at various different places along the 600-mile frontier," Gates told the Post.

Ukrainian losses, Gates said, stemmed in part from their struggles with weapon and ammunition supplies and their manpower shortages.

"I've read that for every artillery shell that the Ukrainians fire, Russians are firing 10, and so the Ukrainians now are facing this shortage of ammunition, artillery," Gates said.

“Ex” and “former” tell us he has been well informed in the past.

Everything I'm reading

and

I've read

tell us he’s as well informed now as we all are when you consider we’ve all read similar things ourselves.

Not saying he isn’t well informed, just that his opinion is not the complete picture. We all know the Ukrainians are struggling now.

Your favorite article makes an appearance again!!! Too bad it says nothing about Ukrainians giving up or the end state being their surrender.

The former Top Ukraine General Z was right of course, Ukraine can ONLY lose more, there's no path to victory, pure fantasy. He knows foreign $support's conditioned upon battlefield success, that's not happening.

You don't know what Zaluzhnyi was saying privately.

Where are Ukraine's promised F-16's?! Seems NATO support, similar to US Congress, growing VERY hesitant.

They are not going to reveal them to the likes of you.

If Ukraine can't prevail at HEAVILY fortified Adviidka, then starting to win now, while out in the open and in retreat is pure fantasy. Sad fact, they're getting slaughtered. Time for the "REFERREE" to call this thing!

Supply lines get shorter and the terrain could become more favorable in the woods for killing terrorists. Time to stop SCREECHING.

To do nothing about this while treating Putin like a hero (as the Republicans are doing) is malpractice.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Wallace..

More than 100,000 Russians killed since the start of the war. More than 200,000 injured.

No serious observers are quoting figures that high. A more realistic number is 40-46,000.

Of course the Ukrainian figure is far, far higher.

The Ukraine forces are getting a beating all along the eastern battle line. There is no possibility of a Ukrainian win, just a matter of how many more need to die. Time to stop this ill advised NATO proxy war.

The British government slapped Russia with 50 new sanctions.

LOL.... Some nay find it interesting that since the sanctions on Russia went into effect, British car and machinery exports to Azerbaijan, Georgia and Kazakhstan have gone up dramatically. In some cases bu 11,000% But yeah... sanctions.

-4 ( +1 / -5 )

There's no point to the bloodshed, it's time for a negotiated peace.

After another two or three years, a negotiated peace may be required.

Russia, however, is like the dog that caught the car. For a sliver of Ukrainian territory, they face never-ending sanctions and ostracism from international society that will permanently retard their economy and social development. It's back to Soviet times for the average Russian. Look for the brain drain to worsen.

*****Ex-CIA director and former Secretary of Defense Robert Gates****

“Ex” and “former” tell us he has been well informed in the past.

Robert Gates and all officials who formally serve in top positions, STAY well informed, like outside consultants with insiders they mentored and those serving in their formal roles. Surely, he's been tasked to share his DIRE Ukraine views in the media, otherwise he's stay quiet.

Ukraine becoming greater failed state daily, no capacity to man and train a sufficient war machine, far too many people fleeing, while Russia's war machine is humming.

Time Magazine professionals have performed ongoing survey work inside Ukraine, article makes it clear FAR More Ukrainians now prefer Peace and Settlement of War vs. in past. I trust their professionalism, NOT YOU.

Everybody can see UA military and civil leadership in utter disarray as funding support dries up abroad.
