Respect to all Russians willing to risk all while protesting against their nation's far right brand of authoritarianism.

Putin's far-right netizens are out in RAGE today at the world reporting the truth of Putin and Russia's corruption.

It's quite enjoyable. I always enjoy watching vipers eat themselves.

Russia and China are essentially the same - totalitarian, one party states, zero respect for human rights or international law, evil, murderous Emperors for life, and mass torture and murder of any dissident.

I wish Navalny and his supporters well, may they rise up and attack the police, public servants and the totalitarian government. But like the freedom fighters in Hong Kong, I fear it is certain they will all be captured and executed.

Getting a bit predictable Ivan complaining about democracy in one country whilst yours is run by a self imposed criminal president.

Kaput Putin! Poisoning rivals - kinda hard putting that down to coincidence.

As you can see in the photos, many of the "demonstrators" are from the far right, anti mask, conspiracy crowd.

Don't fall for the anti Russia, anti Putin western propaganda.

Biden's "cabinet of the monocles" is likely to cause a lot of problems in and around Russia. That are already pushing NATO allies to admit Georgia. Putin will not govern forever, he will grow old and die. The US needs to take a long-term approach here and embrace Russia not force it into a corner.

I don't know who Navalny is, or whose interests he really represents, but he is the symbolic figure most threatening to Kremlin corruption and abuse of power so it's now time for Russians to use this moment in history to step up to the plate of liberation and take back control of their lives from the hands of their greedy exploiters and lawless oppressors. Putin's putrid rule must be terminated asap and the "president for life" needs to be "jailed for life" along with his criminal clique so that Russians can breathe the air of freedom they have waited centuries for. Maybe Covid will turn out to be a game-changer, like the Mongol invasions, as a catalyst for the overthrow of Kremlin autocracy leading to the transformation of the Russian state. Lock 'em all up and shake 'em down, Tovarishchi!

Russia needs to adopt US methods, and brand the demonstrators as 'insurrectionists', and 'domestic terrorists', and throw the whole lot into prison.

I feel sorry for all the protesters and anti-Putin people in Russia but this you can’t win. Especially when we take into consideration that more than half of the population is already brainwashed with anti-west propaganda and cheap russian nationalism.

Nice joke, but seriously, people who have become too "comfortably numb" do need to be reminded of democracy's "nuclear option" which ruling classes of every stripe assiduously work to make the people they rule over forget, ie., the ultimate weapon of a people to overthrow by violent means any oppressive system that tramples on their freedoms and human rights. Btw, when uprisings fail they are called "insurrections"; when they succeed they are given the more prestigious name of "revolution".

Navalny is a hardcore Russian Nationalist who publicly stated that not only does Crimea belong to Russia but that Ukraine and Belarus should be swallowed up as well.

One of the few times we're in complete agreement.

Navalny would not be any better than Putin. He's a bigot, anti-Muslim and courts the far right... like the recent PotUS, come to think of it.

Yes, of course, Putin must go. But Navalny is not the answer.

Exactly. But Americans (and Brits) judge world affairs by using provincial and local politics. They believe the conspiracy theory that Trump was a Putin puppet, therefore anyone who unseats Putin is good - no matter how much worse than Putin they may actually be. Simple minded politics will be the death of us all.

I'm not either nationality. But nothing against our British/American and Russian brothers and sisters.

Was 45 an asset, a puppet or just useful? I don't believe he was an agent. But he did display some stunningly ill-thought out behaviour in favouring Putin.

Navalny is, unfortunately, not the saviour so many seem to be proclaiming.

Simple minded politics will be the death of us all.

That, or a pandemic. Aye.

Hopefully murderous dictator for lifetime putin has his backside twitching. There's more support for the opposition than the keyboard putin troll army would have us think.

The topless old man moob shots simply just aren't doing it anymore.

@zichi

His palace, private yachts and airline?

I've already asked you twice (on another thread), I'll ask you for the third time - could you please name even one of Putin's yachts or airpalnes? When you start talk facts?

@ Matej

i dont understand level of your "care" abt some russian traitor and life time cheater.wondering why say Julian Assange did earn that level of your "interest"?

Exellent question. Why such a life-long con artist and embezzler as Navalny is so dear to the same people who want the champion of freedom Assange to rot in jail?

@Madverts

Putin is so-o-o afraid that the Russian police (it's obvious from photos and videos) do not use water cannons, tear gas or other equipment or weaponry so widely used in simillar circumstances by the U.S., French or poilce from any other Western country that like (without good reason) call themselves paragons of democracy.

There's more support for the opposition than the keyboard putin troll army would have us think

Support of Navalny is several thousand schoolers and students (this thug tries to push his agends throuhg kids), and nothing like the anti-Putin troll army tries us to believe.
