BRICS is a joke. There will be no expansion of the acronym and no full throated support of Russia's criminal actions.

The consensus amongst the majority of African states (and the states involved represent 1/3 of the ICC member states) was that the hasty, unprecedented decision by the US backed ICC Prosecutor to ignore the lack of jurisdiction in both Russia and Ukraine, the questionable nature of the charge because the children were deemed to not have competent guardians by UKRAINE at the time Russia arranged their evacuation from a war zone, something the Kyiv regime had refused to do, and the possibility of Russian courts prosecuting if someone had presented evidence of intentional wrongdoing was emblematic of the failure of the ICC to live up to its mandate and instead act as a political tool of the White Bloc.

That concensus was expressed at their joint meeting in Moscow the day after the surprise announcement of the warrant.

The same reaction was common amongst the Latin American states including Brazil.

It is. Because of the Veto. With 5 members able to veto each other, NOTHING can get done. The veto is undemocratic. Get rid of the Veto and have the international community vote on issues with the majority position prevailing. Get rid of the SC and give each nation one vote.

Nor do you make them speak Russian, study a ‘patriotic’ Russian curriculum, sing the Russian national anthem, celebrate Russian military holidays, dress them up in Russian military uniforms with ‘Z’ badges, and tell them their Ukrainian families are evil and don’t want them.
