The capture of the entire region is widely seen as a Kremlin war objective.

And now the Wagner Crime Group has the region what will they do with it.. What is their objective should Russia prevail? Russia reminds me of the Internet meme about packs of rabid wild dogs chasing a car, and the question what will the dogs do if the car stops. Will the Wagners rebuild the areas they and the Russian military have destroyed? And does Prigozhin have close personal connections with fellow thugs in Iran, China, North Korea and other authoritarian nations to help him pay to rebuild Ukraine, or does he think he can get Ukrainians to pay taxes directly to him and his mobs? Or will he allow other Russian crime families, or other thugs around the world to share the spoils.

A lot of videos with testimonies of Soledar civilians appeared on the telegram within tomorrow-today after taking control by Russians. The found residents are gradually evacuated by the Russian military to the borders of Russia.

It seems clear that Russia has taken Soledar. Any remaining resistance by Ukrainian troops is insignificant. Next on the list for Russia appears to be Bakhmut where Ukraine has already paid a high price for holding.

Soledar is now in liberated by Russia, which will facilitate the liberation of the entire Donetsk region..

Russia is moving forward..

How do you know? Reporters saw Uke troops conducting an organized withdrawal (in contrast to Russian troops' tendency to flee in panic). The Ukes are likely regrouping and rearming (hopefully with those new German tanks and US fighting vehicles).

Russian President Vladimir Putin launched the invasion on Feb. 24

Putin was claimed to be 'smart, savvy and strong' by global rightists, including some US Republicans especially by their main crime boss. But apparently Putin has been replaced by Prigozhin, an even more powerful crime boss. Will the global rightists now claim Prigozhin is strong, savvy and smart, will he be offered a penthouse flat, or can he move into one of Putin's mansions?

The reporters saw performances of the withdrawals!!! There are many such performances on the Internet.

Ukrainians crank them out as often as rabbits breed

Winning a battle does not mean winning a war.

Nobody promised you this. You promised us that Ukraine would be totally without power and heating by now though. Is it?

The "army of sockless drunkards" didn't defeat anything lately. Give credit where it is due, to the Wagner convict mercenary group. After months, they have apparently taken a salt mine from the... satanists(?). I hope Russians see the irony that their effort to liberate Ukraine is now centered a group of criminals shooting people and taking their stuff.

Two months ago we were promised that Zelensky would have retaken Crimea by now.

The parable that the media feeds us about what's going on doesn't seem to match the actual facts on the ground.

How come an army of drunkards without socks is defeating an army equipped with $50 billion worth of NATO weapons?

10 ( +15 / -5 )

Why don't you talk about the Ukrainian group Kraken? The same principle of organisation - a criminal group.... Why don't you talk about those dozens of criminals (or even more) who were released and armed by the Ukrainian authorities at the very beginning of the operation? And who, instead of war, went to the roads to rob and kill their Ukrainian fellow citizens. Very simple: they are not successful. They are incorrigible bandits

-12 ( +5 / -17 )

Being a Ukrainian soldier is a matter of pride, being a Russian soldier is a burden. The motivated will prevail.

Before the war, only 10,000 people lived there. A tiny city.

“symbolic” win says CNN.

-9 ( +5 / -14 )

It's likely the Wagner criminal gang will be having their last little laugh in Soledar before running back to Russia in tears Volodymyr is surely working hard on a strategy to rain on Vladimir's own February 24 Red Square "Victory over the Nazis" parade.

This war was not only designed by the ones whose survival depends on continuous war profits, but also it is like a dream come true after Afghanistan was finished. While there was no war, they filled it in with the COVID money maker through vaccination, tests, hospitalization, and tax reliefs. All about printing money.

let me short and exact.

Soledar is in russian hands confirmed from many other sources.UA heroi have lost this battle.

Russia will prevail!

-13 ( +5 / -18 )

I find it funny that 41 countires are afraid one one country. All against and fighting but Russia keeps moving forward destorying anything that comes its way. Not sure how this is fitting the narative that ukrain is winning the war... I hope Ukrain wins and bring this to end but in the very very end Japan will not bring the food price back down even if Ukraine were to win the war i mean Nato's war

-11 ( +3 / -14 )

if you are not interested read same pro UA narratives published here everyday and wants to know what is going on in Soledar just look for info from "other side" as well.

Yes. I find The Duran and The New Atlas quite informative...

“One day prior, the same soldier told CNN that he felt his group had been “abandoned.”

“If there is no order to withdraw today, we will most likely not have time to leave,” he said. “We were told that we would be withdrawn. And now we аre just abandoned.”

70 billion dollars is in someone’s pocket.

U know why? Because all the countries are not sure that It's Russia guilty. They vibrate under the pressure of scumbags from the EU and America. The second thing (I have read today on the Hill) This company of 50 countries cannot let Russia win. What a shame! But it cannot bring Russia to a loss: Russia is a great nuclear power and can fulfill its promise. So think what you say

@Kuku, just one minor correction (as for now):

*"The found residents are gradually deported by the Russian marauders to the borders of Russia."*

@Bronco, same goes for you:

"One year ago we were promised that PUTAin would have taken Kyiv by now." What happened?

@TokyoLiving:

"Russia is moving forward." But sometimes they're having problems, mixing up "F" and "R"!

@Eastman:

Russia will prevail!

Wrong answer, Jack! Replace with Ukraine and scrap the will!

Well, maybe, once PUTAin and his buddies are gone for good Russia will prevail, but that will be a long way down the road!

Ukraine prevails!

The found residents are gradually deported by the Russian marauders to the borders of Russia."*

Did the Russians steal something from you? Tell us better how Ukrainian soldiers looted in the Donbass during 8 years! They shipped the loot by trucks to their villages in western Ukraine. Your "Nova Poshta" worked day and night to send these trucks with household appliances, building materials, clothes and even children's toys.

Did they invade and attack a foreign country? If not, your comparison doesn't make any sense.

Why don't you talk about the Ukrainian group Kraken? The same principle of organisation - a criminal group.... Why don't you talk about those dozens of criminals (or even more) who were released and armed by the Ukrainian authorities at the very beginning of the operation?

70 billion dollars is in someone’s pocket.

Any proof of this?

7 ( +13 / -6 )

CNN as source we can trust?

Nope. But it draws out the necessary liberal responses to show their hypocrisy and flip flopping on “trusted” media sources.

-9 ( +8 / -17 )

Did they invade and attack a foreign country? If not, your comparison doesn't make any sense.

I'm not against if you like so. Iron argument. 1:0 in your favor. But is this foreign country yours? Russia will sort itself out without your opinion

Claiming to have conquered this town while fighting continues reminds me of Hitler saying he had taken Stalingrad. He had 95% but the defenders hung on and eventually turned the tables. Russia will likely eventually subjugate the town and concentrate on Bakhmut, but like other areas it will be temporary. Ukraine will liberate all of its territory and Russia's time as a conventional military power, will be over. Ukraine will have the most experienced land army in the world with some of the best western weaponry available, and perhaps Europe's best air defenses in place. European nations will go to train in Ukraine when this is over and learn current modern army tactics for certain methods of warfare.

With Putin's equivalent of SS forces, "the Wagner group", his personal military that gets all the Russian military equipment it needs, Putin will have a cadre of loyal troops to protect him into the future. But bad blood is fermenting between regular Russian military and the WG so it may not be plain sailing ahead as they compete for resources that are stretched to say the least.

Ukraine continues to get more and better weaponry, and once the MBT's roll in in numbers, all they will lack is modern western jet fighters. Those fighters will come this year and when they do the tide will well and truly turn against Russia.

Time is on Ukraine's side as they get stronger, Russia wears itself out. Still a long way to go and hundreds of thousands more will die, but the West must give all the equipment needed to win and finish this war in 2023.

So after blowing the Russians to bits for 2 months, Ukraine withdraws to its next defensive line - supply lines and communications in tact.

The Russians get to claim that they have “de-salinated” the area and get a needed, but ultimately limited tactical victory.

BTW, that’s not my judgment. That’s the opinion of multiple retired Russian generals (speaking on condition of anonymity of course).

And the Western tanks are coming.

How come an army of drunkards without socks is defeating an army equipped with $50 billion worth of NATO weapons?

I guess if you throw enough bodies against the thinly stretched defense, eventually you will grind them down. Russia does not care how many men need to be sacrificed to achieve this goal...

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Nope. But it draws out the necessary liberal responses to show their hypocrisy and flip flopping on “trusted” media sources.

as opposed to the hypocrisy of right wing talk points, almost word for word copy-pasted by some individuals?
