Just waiting for murder charges pressed against most of those Russian aggressors.

Tit for tat! Those from the Wagner group should be the first ones to face trial.

And of course, Russians destroying yet another escape route for civilians.

They are just nuking anything and everything, total destruction, erasing everything in Ukraine.

Ok,they better be glad the Russian military is incompetent , because an more effective army would of already took over Ukraine, using GPS coordinates

There are going to be some ups and downs on both sides and this thing is far from over.

The Russians are the abuser and the Ukrainians are the abused, and vengeance is a dish best served cold.

cutting off a possible evacuation route for civilians

That should read....

"cutting off a possible evacuation route for Ukrainian and foreign mercenary fighters."

Since the Azov "Nazis" surrendered, Putin has slowly tipped his hand to reveal his true intentions: considering Ukraine to be a "fake" country, the Ukrainian "language", like Belarussian", a mere peasant dialect, an inferior, bastardized form of the magnificent Russian language and, with Belarus already in Putin's pocket, the "hold-out" Ukraine, too, which, "bequeathed by history", "belongs" to the Russian "Motherland" must be prepared to "cry uncle" to the Kremlin, or else...But more importantly, as is the wont of such non-entities who were not born great, nor achieved greatness, but who have had "greatness thrust upon 'em" merely by chance's throw of the dice, Putin is determined to take his place among the "Illustrious Greats" and to go down in history as "Vladimir the Great" (after climbing over a mountain of corpses, natch).

Russia's military is still just a WWII relic. They are not even close to defeating a country 1/4th its size and that has very limited military capabilities. Russia has been exposed in the worst possible way for Putin.

Because the allied forces of Luhansk, Donetsk, and Russia deliberately left an opening in their ring of forces around the last major remnants of the Kiev regime's presence in the Donbass, the claim that they blew up the bridge seems a little far fetched.

On the other hand, given that the Kiev regime has deployed basically everything but the fanatically loyal 'discipline units' into the city, cutting them off from being able to retreat back to Kiev does seem to be a tactic well within Zelensky's playbook.

After all, disillusioned soldiers represent a problem for a regime like Zelensky's (which has locked up or forced into exile every opposition leader) whereas 'soldiers willing to fight to the death' is a message the regime likes to present to its subjects AND foreign backers.

Strangerland

Yes, just like the "real-death" video games which we've all seen before, playing constantly on our TV screens courtesy of the US military conducting their wars of "liberation". Schadenfreude is only human, but so is shedding a tear for the human life wasted in an instant, all the poor, unwitting Russian cannon fodder entombed in their metal caskets, young men whose unfulfilled lives have been snuffed out leaving families and loved ones behind to grieve for the rest of their lives. They were ordered into war as pawns in Putin's game. And for what? Only to gratify the monstrous ego of a megalomaniac non-entity who is egregious proof once again that heads of state are guilty of the most heinous crime of all: wars of aggression for which they all get a pass, or at least a place in history.

The only people more tragic than that, are the Ukrainian civilians being murdered in their homeland by the poor guys you describe.

These guys should put down their weapons and refuse to fight. Otherwise, I'm not going to feel bad watching them get blown up in videos. Sure, it sucks the Kremlin pushed them to it, but it's their choice to pull the trigger on the Ukrainians, so there's not much room for sympathy.

Let's not forget, soldiers deserve all the guilt of the leaders. The leaders only lead through the backing of the military. They are a symbiotic relationship, one can't exist without the other. So when the soldiers invade a foreign land and murder its citizens, they are as guilty of that as the leaders, and even more so for being the ones to pull the trigger.

Advancing forces tend to secure bridges, not destroy them. Defenders the opposite. If this was all part of the Russian plan, why not do it weeks ago?

I do find it interesting that names such as Sievierodonetsk are of such importance now, instead of Kyiv, Kharkiv, Odessa and Dnipro. That in itself is a win for Ukraine. As for the regions already occupied, I have no idea how Russia can realistically hold them long term with its economy and military in tatters.

Western allies need to speed up the deliveries of ammunition and heavy artillery pieces. There are obviously not enough in place to push Russia's artillery back.

Hopefully, allies are doing this without having to announce when the supplies are being shipped.

Ukraine is lightweight copy of Russia,it is one party state, lots of it government structure is model after Russia

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

Why would local civilians want to run away? They are Donbassians, speak Russian, almost all have Russian passports and there houses are shelled by Ukraine Army with western supplied rockets, beaten and tortured by Azov Battalion and SSU. I would welcome the bridge destruction, if it was really Ukraine that did it.

I do enjoy watching the videos of Russian tanks and vehicles being bombed.

While it may be poetic justice, I do not enjoy seeing anyone die. I just think war should be outlawed and people should allow others to live freely. Watching a human or humans losing their life is always difficult for me, even if they may deserve it.

None of which is actually true. While some few hold dual Russian passports, civilians flee war to survive and those that remain are fighting off the Russian invaders. Any pro Russians left long ago to the occupied territories in 2014. Many may speak Russian but that does not remove their love for their country of Ukraine, or the desire for it to remain free.

Russian propaganda is so easy to spot when it is regurgitated.

Shoot a Russian POW for every “mercenary” executed. Start with officers.

Putin’s troops massacre men, women and children. No mercy.

you do know mercenaries are foreigners who enter another country and murder people for money right?

you do know that you are inciting murder of POWs protected by international law and the Geneva Convention?

also, you do know that they are captured and on trial in the independent Republic of Donbass and has nothing to do with the Independent Federation of Russia?

Comrade Putin's plan to erase Ukraine from the map as an independent nation state has failed. Unfortunately a war of attrition has developed and thousands more will die - any victories claimed by the Russians will be Pyrrhic and leave mother Russia in a weaker position than when it started this whole thing.

Don't make the mistake that the Syrian rebels made, fighting for territory.

First, target the leader - send a sniper to Moscow.

Second, target the Russian command and control, comms and supply systems. Erase them.

Third - we all know what US mil tech can do - those pin-point accurate missile strikes we saw in the Iraq war. The US need to lend this to Ukraine so they can start taking out specific targets, one after another, from the air. No hand-to-hand conflict involved. By which point, the Russian and pro-Russian forces would be isolated. They could surrender territory they are occupying or be progressively wiped out.

Anything less than this, and the West are just exploiting Ukraine for the excuse to cut off Russian energy, reduce emissions and start a new Cold War. Which really would be a crime against humanity.
