With only about a third of Russia's 146 million people vaccinated against COVID-19, the country has hovered near 1,000 reported deaths per day for weeks and surpassed it on Saturday — a situation that Arbolishvili says “causes despair.”

Russia is facing the consequences of problems it created, spreading vaccine disinformation, promoting poorly tested vaccines while banning its people from taking real vaccines and a general suppression of information.

A poorly informed population will respond poorly to emergencies.

I feel sorry for the fine people there who are suffering under their despot!!!

On Tuesday, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said unvaccinated people over 60 will be required to stay home. He also told businesses to keep at least a third of their employees working remotely for three months starting Oct. 25.

The world is opening up and Russia is closing down!

Sad!!!

Despair? But I thought we were told “Russians ignore it and go on with their lives.”?

An untruthful government spreading disinformation result in (gasp) an untrusting population hesitant to take its (unlike its Western counterparts) untested vaccine.

Gish, whodathunkit?

Gosh....

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Jeez. And they supposedly developed their own vaccine. Or are they as infected by Anti-Vaccine ***** as America is?

It’s really impossible to believe anything the MSM says or writes about Russia. Oddly, the lying anti Russian MSM and their sheep seem to be living in a Potemkin village. Newsflash! The whole Russiagate story was a lie.

Sir, I feel your pain. Fox is also reporting on this and it is sad to see them turn MSM.

Sir, where is Potemkin? I have never been to Russia so don’t know.

The whole Russiagate story was a lie.

But sir it was true!!!

Russia is facing the consequences of problems it created, spreading vaccine disinformation, promoting poorly tested vaccines while banning its people from taking real vaccines and a general suppression of information

It's really bewildering how stubbornly some people stick to their weird beliefs. 1. Russia did not spread vaccine disinformation (you're welcome to support your claim with facts). 2. Russian vaccines work fine, more fifty countries use it and happy with that. There were quite a number of deaths caused by side effects of Moderna and Pfizer, and zero for the Sputnik. 3. Russians are not banned from taking Western vaccines, they just have to pay for them (Russian vaccines free). 4. There is no "general suppression of information", all data is quickly published. As I've said to you once, if you can use a translator program on PC you can have all the information.

I feel sorry for the fine people there who are suffering under their despot!!!

Don't bother. Russians do not suffer and they are overwhelmingly support Putin. The reason is very clear to any unbiased observer: compare Russia in 2000 when Putin took helm with the country now. Then it was a complete wreck, now it is a world power, to the greatest sorrow of American hawks.

The world is opening up and Russia is closing down!

What makes you say that, some prevention measures for the elderly? Tell Australians and New Zealanders that the world is opening up, obviously they don't know that. And I can't say that Japan is opening up, foreigners with only special visa status allowed to come here.

Yawn... Read my reply to @ulysses

@The Avenger

Or are they as infected by Anti-Vaccine ***** as America is?

Yes, I think that's the key problem.

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

Looks like the virus didn't care about Putin's lies about his vaccine.

As I said before when they were pretending their vaccine worked - to believe that'd, you'd have to trust Putin and the Russian media do. I don't think anyone on this planet actually trusts Putin other than Putin. And since Putin absolutely controls the media, the media absolutely cannot be trusted.

*What is the cost of lies? It's not that we'll mistake them for the truth. The real danger is that if we hear enough lies, then we no longer recognize the truth at all.*

That's the trap Putin's Russia has fallen into. No one knows what is a lie, and there is no truth left in Russia to recognize. Just a bunch of internet trolls. A very useless country if there ever was one.

Utter bunk.

It's really bewildering how stubbornly some people stick to their weird beliefs. 1. Russia did not spread vaccine disinformation (you're welcome to support your claim with facts).

From the article above:

"While extolling Sputnik V and three other domestic vaccines developed later, state-controlled media derided Western-made vaccine shots, a controversial message that many saw as feeding public doubts about vaccines in general.

Asked if authorizing imports of foreign vaccines would help, Peskov said the skepticism isn't limited to domestic shots. So far, the World Health Organization and the European Union have not authorized the use of Sputnik V, and Peskov emphasized that the issue should be resolved on an equal basis. "

You might try reading (or perhaps re-reading) prior to posting.

Russian vaccines work fine, more fifty countries use it and happy with that. There were quite a number of deaths caused by side effects of Moderna and Pfizer, and zero for the Sputnik.

Sputnik has undergone zero phase 3 trials so you have no basis with which to make this statement. As for the "quite a # of deaths cause by side effects of Moderna", et al - Quite frankly there is none, nada, nil, zip, zilch, zero. Death after vaccination in no way correlates to death due to vaccination. There is just no evidence that this is anything other than the fever dream of the anti-vax cult.

Russians are not banned from taking Western vaccines, they just have to pay for them (Russian vaccines free).

Indeed, so much so that Russians are flocking across the borders to countries where they can get Western and not Russian vaccines.

There is no "general suppression of information", all data is quickly published. As I've said to you once, if you can use a translator program on PC you can have all the information.

Ah yes, RT, that oracle of information and from Russian State media. Yeah, thanks for that.

Sir I agree the following is really weird

1. Russia did not spread vaccine disinformation (you're welcome to support your claim with facts). 2. Russian vaccines work fine, more fifty countries use it and happy with that. There were quite a number of deaths caused by side effects of Moderna and Pfizer, and zero for the Sputnik

If you do not have proper data you wouldn't know what effect that vaccine had or hadn't.

Sir, there are only so many putin opponents that can be poisoned , there are even more people opposed to him today, And world power???? Fighting Ukraine , occupying Crimea hardly make you a world power! Regional bully sure, world power, No.

Tell Australians and New Zealanders that the world is opening up, obviously they don't know that.

They do dear sir, unlike Russia they have a free press!

I know how you feel. The hated MSM told me the sky was blue two days ago. It was then that I realised the sky is green.

Hell if I don't love it when Strangerland wakes up and chooses violence.

From here to there and everywhere, it's quite crystal clear . . . We must all get vaccinated to live normally again.

Utter bunk

So far, the World Health Organization and the European Union have not authorized the use of Sputnik V

So what? More then fifty countries authorized the use of Sputnik and use it. And the number will grow:

https://theconversation.com/russian-covid-vaccine-why-more-and-more-countries-are-turning-to-sputnik-v-159158

As for the "quite a # of deaths cause by side effects of Moderna", et al - Quite frankly there is none, nada, nil, zip, zilch, zero

So many emotions, so little knowledge:

https://southfront.org/more-and-more-deaths-emerge-from-pfizer-vacine-success-story/

https://www.sott.net/article/447279-Norway-links-13-deaths-to-Pfizer-vaccines-side-effects

And there were several cases in Japan, information was in Japan newspapers.

Indeed, so much so that Russians are flocking across the borders to countries where they can get Western and not Russian vaccines

And you know the numbers? Share your secret knowledge.

@ulysses

Fighting Ukraine , occupying Crimea hardly make you a world power

Crimea returned to where it belonged for centures, to the delight of its populace. And the fighting in Ukraine is an internal conflict, the direct result of the Western-organized ultranationalistic coup d'etat in 2014. Had the Russian army was there the Ukrainian nazi would have gone long ago.

One American comedian said "Russia is the only country in the world that makes America think before doing something". Strange, but this comedian is much more clever then some people who with serious faces write their posts.

Patients who have gotten the vaccine usually don't have serious symptoms, Ibragimova added, while the unvaccinated come to regret it.

“Patients who survive after a grave course of illness tell us when they are discharged, 'Doctor, you were right and I will tell everyone that it's necessary to get the vaccine,'" she said.

Hmm this antivaxer is smarter than most. There were probably many more who changed minds but sadly didn't survive

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Even though vaccines are plentiful, Russians have shown hesitancy and skepticism when it comes to getting vaccinated, which has been blamed on conflicting signals sent by authorities since the pandemic began last year.

Seems they're too good at disinformation

1 ( +4 / -3 )

Deaths after vaccination do not equal deaths as a result of vaccination.

Did they not teach correlation does not equal causation in your MBA program? Or maybe you were just not paying attention?

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

If there were, or in the future there is any evidence of causation, there will be a credible investigation and action taken by a regulatory agency because that has already happened in a handful of rare cases.

Until then, it is rumors an innuendo which seems to be more than enough for the anti-vax cult of personality.

-2 ( +1 / -3 )

I mean, this is statistics 101. Because A and B occur at the same time in no way means that A causes B without proof.

As I previously pointed out, I used to like to dig trenches in the Mid West to keep out Elephants when I went camping with dad as a youth (I saw it on Mutual of Omaha's wild kingdom).

Never 1 damn pachyderm in our camp. Was that because I dug the trench, or was it because We lived in the Mid-West and there were no elephants in the wild?

They kind of teach this in the 1st week of stats in Business School......

-3 ( +1 / -4 )

so you dont accept ABC News and Asahi as credible? thats strange. Im not saying it, they are.

Have you heard about the side effects of the virus. I believe they are quite bad!!!

Although when it was a race to blame orange guy I do remember a guy crashing his motorcycle and dying, then being added as a COVID death.

Might have been helpful to put a link, otherwise seems like disinformation!!!

0 ( +3 / -3 )

None of the people I posted were hit by a car. they simply took the vaccine as healthy people and died days later.

trump took the vaccine, tucker took it.

Looks like your leaders are taking it but asking their followers not to take, maybe because they cannot think!!!
