Given Xi (ruler for life) has publicly said Putin (ruler for life?) is his best friend, given the Russian Federation's expansions via its Eurasian Economic Union, given China's expansions via its Belt and Road, I think Putin also means China and Russia are being contained.
In the ongoing competition for which empire rules.

The USA wants 4 things for all people.
1) democratic rule with representatives directly picked by the electorate
2) Freedom in general to include speech, travel, religion, sexual preference, no oppression for any non-violent group.
3) Open markets with the least govt interference possible. Fair competition for all businesses.
4) Happiness and prosperity for everyone.
We can understand why Putin and Xi might not like that? Other dictators have issues with those goals as well.
Some day, the world will be like that. I can see it.

I don't think it's new. It's been that way since 1948 when the CCP, which was originally formed as branch of the Soviet Communist Party, outsted the Chinese Nationalists to Taiwan.
Only China is trying to reconfigure the existing structure with their 9-dash line claim and building military bases on artificial islands. The US and it's allies are simply trying to prevent further terrotorial expansion.

Russia should therefore seek a Pact with the US and put an end to this Global unfairness that continues to be perpetuated by Rivalries. Revise the all Global protectionist rules and make Corruption a Global Crime. League of Nations Part 3....

Like Germany in World war 1, choosing some uncompetencing allies (Austria-Hungary,Ottoman) in her team is one of the cause of her downfall! If the US believes India is a competence one, good luck for them!
