I hope we sort it out soon. was it a Russian false flag or was it Ukrainian right wing extremists. It’s hard to know what is reality during the fog of war.

False flags have always been in fashion. The first casualty of war is the truth.

5 ( +14 / -9 )

It's clearly as Ukraine stated: Russian partisans upset with their regime.

No. It's quite easy to know. They are Russian patriots. People who actually rebelled against the Putin regime.

2020

Nobody knows the full facts as of yet. If they were Russian were they provided with the vehicles, ammunition and training by the Ukrainian military, were do they get their intelligence from?

-7 ( +8 / -15 )

Why is everyone sooo excited about Russia - Ukraine ? Haven’t we seen this thing repeatedly before ? In lands even further away ? Just replace The Ukraine with Iraq, or Libya, or Palestine, Afghanistan et al, then replace Russia with....oooh I forget ! It’s taboo to whisper the name.

We went about our business then, lets go to sleep.

It's in a country with no press freedom. We will never be able to get to the truth.

Taiwan

maybe so, but does that give anyone the right to decide what really occurred then?

You can’t even get the truth in countries with press freedom…

Yes.

But feel free to wait for "the truth".

The regional governor complained in a video late Tuesday that federal authorities' claims for the past year that “everything is under control” do not ring true in light of this attack and prior assaults. He appealed again to the Kremlin to strengthen defenses.

With all that’s been going on, you’re only now starting to realize it? It hasn’t been under control since the invasion of Ukraine began in February ‘22.

5 ( +10 / -5 )

The Russians pursued them into Ukraine and none made it back to Nzi lines.

The Russians didn’t make it back to Russia?

6 ( +13 / -7 )

The previous attack by "Russian patriots" turned out to be Russian neo-Nazis so who knows what this lot was abdicating for.

As much as it pains western media to say it, Bakhmut is firmly under Russian control.

-10 ( +7 / -17 )

cross border attacks. this is what Russian has been doing for over a year to Ukraine

5 ( +11 / -6 )

A dozen Ukrainians with a camera crossing into a Russian village makes big news meanwhile the final Ukrainian exiting the stronghold of Bakhmut and the victory parties of the Wagner group don't get coverage?

This is how propaganda works.... Show and exaggerate the "victories" and ignore or lie about the setbacks.

Both sides do this but you will only hear from one side in most publications.

-3 ( +10 / -13 )

proxy

As much as it pains western media to say it, Bakhmut is firmly under Russian control.

I don't think it pains anyone to say it. As Zelensky says: Bakhmut is just a pile of rubble. It was never a strategic target and Russia paid a hefty price in taking it.

The Russian army reminds one of a bloated Russian Mafioso, tracksuit stretched across its vodka belly with its barcode hair askew.

It had its 1 min. 17 seconds of fun. It’s shot its wad. The viagra has worn off and it’s in dire need of a “nap.”

They can’t do anything they haven’t already done, except for WMD use and they aren’t going to do that.

It’s a spent force of drunken conscripts and derelict equipment. It can’t even secure its own borders.

pathetic.

Yes you can, if you do your homework and use your common sense.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

What are you talking about? We have been reading about Bakhmut for 9 months. Everyone saw Wagner advance block by block and pay a terrible price for it. Only the few survivors are enjoying this victory party. Congratulations?

Yes, we’ve all noticed how your comments consistently do that.

The Russians say 7 of them were captured, the rest killed. Video of the killed has been released along with their destroyed or captured standard NATO equipment. No video of the captured yet. Some of the killed have been ID'ed as Russian and Ukranian hard-line Nazis.

Meanwhile, it must be said, a bunch of malnorished convicts armed only with shovels, according to the 'free press', have demonstrated themselves as the most formidable infantry in all the world. No wonder even in France, after the leader referred to Macron and 'pathelogical filth' and threatened to remove him as one would a rotten tooth, they are being feted.

Yeah, yeah, take that with a large helping of salt... ;-)

A dozen Ukrainians with a camera crossing into a Russian village makes big news

A dozen? There is video captured from a drone of part of the force. There were at least 50 in that video alone. All dead now. None were able to escape. Some armored vehicles made a run for it, leaving the infantry in the lurch. They made it back over the border but were pursued and also destroyed.

They must have thought they were at the vanguard of a big offensive. Then realized too late it was a suicide mission for media optics.

-2 ( +8 / -10 )

Lol. If you say and Prigozhin say so, it must be true.

What a mouthful! Truth? Whose version? Yours?

Russia started a war, and now is paying the price and sadly it's the non-combatants that suffer.

THAT is the unvarnished truth!

Yesterday, I saw a photo of the Pentagon on fire too!

"Little Green Men" causing mischief within another country's territory, where have we seen this before? Not so funny now is it Vlad. Expect more of this in your border regions. Partisan attacks on Russian infrastructure are increasing.

There are more and more disgruntled Russians willing to get involved in the resistance.

@2020hindsights

But did Russia pay a heavy price? After there initial move into the city when they realized Ukraine was going to try to hold it, they just set up a cauldron and slaughter the endless thousands of troops that the Ukraine sent in. Russian losses are significantly less than the Ukraine's and they are mostly the dregs of society that never would have see the outside of a jail cell.

Sorry. No, it's not.

That's if the article is using English.

That's what the Russians are saying anyway. And so are you.

Well done Russia, protect the country!!..

It's clearly as Ukraine stated: Russian partisans upset with their regime.

Well well well. Some Russians are getting sick of Pudding-Head and his oppression at home. Maybe it's some forced conscripts in their 40s and 50s who didn't want to participate in this 'New Vietnam War'?

> UChosePoorlyToday  07:22 am JST

watch yo back, Russia

Putin thought this would be so easy. Awwwww, poor bay-BEE. And those UN sanctions are kicking him where it counts too. To paraphrase an old TV ad I remember as a kid:

You asked for it, you got it. Toyota!

3 ( +8 / -5 )

Falseflagmeister Putin may be getting some real payback this time, but whatever, as always, others will pay in blood. People of good faith can't wait to see Putin hauled out of his Kremlin bunker to face justice for his crimes against humanity. This is all I want for Christmas, too.

a pile of rubble under their control, you make it sound like Bakhmut is the only front, Ukraine is advancing in fronts in the south and other areas, expect more border crossings in the future

-2 ( +6 / -8 )

not even remotely true, both sides are losing 100s a day, Russia has lost far more equipment than Ukraine, meanwhile the west is ramping up arms production, for themselves and Ukraine

-1 ( +6 / -7 )

Kyiv portrayed it as an uprising against the Kremlin by Russian partisans. It was impossible to reconcile the two versions, to say with certainty who was behind the attack or to ascertain its aims.

Only one problem in claiming it was and "uprising" multiple footage from civilians, drones, etc.. show western weapons including Australian M113AS4s rolling through the area, these images and footage were geolocated using surrounding buildings and other images.

Those pointing this out include ultra pro Ukraine Deep state ua, but I now wonder if he will soon be arrested for this like others who posted the interceptions of Russian missiles over Kyiv.

So unless Russia uses Australian M113AS4s an "uprising" from within is highly unlikely, and the "false flag" theory is debunked by the simple fact Kyiv has been claiming it is an Russian uprising.
