Mariupol’s port has reportedly resumed operations after Russian forces finished clearing mines in the Azov Sea

The Kremlin never wanted Kiev or any other non Russian speaking area. The move to Kiev's doorstep was a distraction and it worked.

The remaining Azov type hardcore units are effectively surrounded and just like the situation in Mariupol, the idea of the regular official Ukrainian Military jumping into the fray to support the Azov units is somehow not in the cards.

The western media won't explain why.

Russian missile have a great failure rate Google Russian Missile Failure Rate

Moscow is also trying to spook Sweden and Finland’s determination to join NATO. Russia’s Defense Ministry said its navy successfully launched a new hypersonic missile from the Barents Sea.

It should be crystal clear by now that threatening Sweden and Finland this way will have the opposite effect, but then again the Russian aggression until now has not been logical at any point.

The western media won't explain why.

Once again those supporting Russia's invasions and war are unable to criticize their idol Putin, instead they blame the 'media'. I follow a variety of western 'media outlets, and in doing so have a wide range of opinions to select from. But those from totalitarian regimes like Russia's, China's, Iran's, North Korea's and others only have their autocrat's perspective. For those who get their information from Russian media, how many Russians have been killed in action during your war with Ukraine? How many Russians were killed invading Afghanistan? Or do you have to check a western media source to find that?

PT,if Ukrainain bought their weapon, instead of begging others for them, maybe they will have them now, they blaming the west for oil and gas sanction, when they are the largest transporter of Russia gas today,my problem is the US got problem,it do not need any more

If the occupiers think that Lyman or Sievierodonetsk will be theirs, they are wrong. Donbas will be Ukrainian,” he said.

Zelinskyy is now delusional..... The whole of the Dombas and south will be Russian. Everyday towns and villages are falling. The Ukrainians are getting a terrible beating and losing their will to fight. Why die when the result is inevitable?

Ukraine has been transparent in their losses. The invading country hasn't. They won't report that 20% of their military has been eliminated and about 1000 tanks destroyed.

Russian forces have lost about 1,000 tanks in Ukraine so far, according to senior US defense official

Yep... i agree that Zelenskyy is definitely delusional.

That's if the reported details of the article are actually correct.

Oh my goodness, I can’t believe the wacky pro Russian posts.

A) Russia invaded the independent country called the Ukrainian

B) What was a special security operation has lasted 3 months not 3 days and going to be longer.

C) Russia if you exclude client stats is totally isolated.

D) They, the Russians are getting hammered.

Find it hard to believe that any pro Putin can find a sliver of silver lining in anything that’s happening.

You notice Biden is not saying much, but all these European leaders are running their mouth, without consulting the US

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

The only way for peace and stability is to beat and disarm both, which is even more unrealistic than an Ukraine win. lol

-9 ( +1 / -10 )

Seems words cannot prop up the war anymore

3 ( +6 / -3 )

You notice Biden is not saying much, but all these European leaders are running their mouth, without consulting the US

That sounds ludicrous.

But if they really have to consult Biden before running their mouths then that's really ludicrous

Just like the Nazis in WWII.

officials in seized cities have started airing Russian news broadcasts, introduced Russian area codes, imported Russian school curriculum and taken other steps to annex the areas.

These are very significant steps, and we can deduce the following from there implementation.

1: The fact that these measures were not introduced in the areas around Kiev implies that the Russian military never intended to hold onto those areas long term.

2: The fact that these measures are being introduced in the Russian speaking areas implies that Russian planners are very confident that these areas won't be changing hands again.

Like Mariupol, Kherson is a done deal, and everybody knows it. The Russians have this confidence because they have a playbook and things are going according to plan.

A limited operation, with minimal forces, relying primarily on East Ukrainian Separatists to do the fighting to slowly and careful grab the Russian speaking areas and to link up Russia, Crimea, Odessa and Transnistria into one continuous territory.

If that succeeds, there will be an unbroken land link from China to the EU as a Russian controlled trade route.

Ah, that’s why millions are fleeing into the world

Are you claiming that citizens fleeing from their cities being flattened are cowards?

and the few resistance gets entangled and then beg on knees for not being killed instantly but taken into custody,

Do they cry like babies too? This would enhance your submissive fantasy.

They are not other or better than anyone else anywhere.

They are considerably better than the people responsible for the invasion and slaughter of citizens, wouldn't you agree?

: The fact that these measures were not introduced in the areas around Kiev implies that the Russian military never intended to hold onto those areas long term.

You are trying very hard to convince yourself of this, but alas it still won't make it so.

Ian, you are a Brit ,I assume, the US is only thing Putin fear, lots of the support for Ukraine is a payback for Putin supporting Trump

-6 ( +3 / -9 )

The only help, that can save Ukrainain is giving Ukraine gps coordinates of Russian bases, and weapon to reach them

-8 ( +1 / -9 )

The remaining Azov type hardcore units are effectively surrounded

I'll rephrase. Since Putin's stated reason for the 'Special Military Operation' was to 'De-Nazify' Ukraine, presumably once the remaining 'Nazis' are either killed or captured then the Russians can pack up and go home, right? Job done?

Why die when the result is inevitable?

Inevitable for them or hopeful for you? Fortunately Ukranians have considerably more courage than Russian state media credit them for, and you can guarantee they'll keep fighting and keep Russia in the meat grinder for as long as Russia wants.

3 ( +7 / -4 )

Clippety, are Ukrainain traitors that side with Russia, worse than Russian that live in Russia

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

Ian, you are a Brit ,I assume, the US is only thing Putin fear, lots of the support for Ukraine is a payback for Putin supporting Trump

I am not a Brit Yrral.

I doubt Putin is afraid of the US but that's beside the point.

You were implying the leaders must grovel before Biden and that's ludicrous.

Yrral,yes they,are.

Strange how I watch videos and read stories about how happy Ukrainian Russian speakers are, to be liberated by Russia from oppression and destruction.

Strange, both the USA and UK put Ukraine's losses at twice that of Ukraine's "official" casualties and both the USA and UK put Russian losses at half that claimed by Ukraine.

This is readily available information on multiple sites and organizations.

When your two biggest supporters don't even agree with your claims perhaps you have a problem.

I get it Ukraine is at war and the propaganda machine is useful but try not to take it as fact.

I don't know about that, I feel probably more propaganda.

What I do know is that since 2014 Ukraine has done all it could to alienate ethnic Russians, from making OUN UPA National heroes in 2015 to in July 2021 declaring ethnic Russians (many with roots as far back as Kievan Rus federation 9th century) as being not indigenous to the region excluding the while including Ukrainians , Tartars, and everyone else.

This whole thing from 2014 until today have been a long propaganda machine at work on both sides and in the west Ukraine propaganda won for the most part.

I mean OUN UPA fascist/Nazi being national heroes and only places to say anything was Russia and Poland.

Got to give Ukraine a gold medal in propaganda.

This could turn into a long drawn-out urban guerilla war that will exhaust Russian patience and resources. If Putin thought he'd have an easy victory he counted wrong.

Putin isn't afraid of the US, by cyberwar he installed a puppet in the WH in 2016. And that traitor still praises Putin as a 'genius'. A total quisling.

Actually the totally did want Kiev, they just failed badly. The operation achieved nothing but a lot of dead and demoralised Russian soldiers and war crimes on the people of Ukraine.

Why hasn't the same thing happened in Mariupol, Kherson or the Donbass?

The fact of the matter is that the Russian army rolled onto the doorstep of Kiev with ease and captured the airport and nuclear facilities within a matter of hours.

The nuclear facilities and airport were handed back to Ukrainian authorities without a shot being fired because the first stage of the Russian operation had ended.

The Kremlin announced at the very beginning that they would not be attempting a full takeover of Ukraine.
