Russia on Tuesday took its case to the U.N. Security Council that Ukraine is preparing to use a "dirty bomb" on its own territory, an assertion dismissed by Western and Ukrainian officials as misinformation and a pretext for intensifying the war.

Russia says a lot of things....99% either lies or untrue....

On 20 Feb the US Ambassador said on national TV: "There is no invasion, and there [are] no such plans," Antonov said in an interview with "Face the Nation." On 24 Aug, Russia invaded....

Only the US far-right believes anything that comes out of the Kremlin's Potemkin Village...even normal Russians know it's all lies...

Anyone see the interview with the Dr. From Belarus who escaped to the west with the x-rays of all the horribly disfigured Russians he treated because they couldn’t be shipped home?

Yeah, the red wave indeed.

The best if the Russian army is in tatters. The front-line BATO-facing units have been destroyed. The Black Sea “fleet” (stifles a giggle) is in hiding out of Harpoon range. The red “Air Farce” has gone on vacation and the Russians rely on un-trained un-equipped conscripts and 60 year old museum piece tanks.

No wonder Vlad is doing his false flag garbage.

well the goal posts just moved again. now we have to pay to liberate Crimea too.

We can Russia pay for the wall… uh I mean war. and reparations too.

@Eastman

is UA winning already?

So how many times did you continue asking “is the KLA winning yet ?” Before they actually won ?

5 ( +5 / -0 )

So you say... It's better than what would have happened without US and EU involvement (entire Ukraine absorbed into Russia, for a start).

Naive

Putin's great mobilization. A ragtag collection of ordinary Russian men with limited training and insufficient equipment or food (but vodka aplenty) combined with convicts, alcoholics and drug addicts.

just how long the Russian people – or the Kremlin for that matter – are willing to slavishly follow Putin off the cliff of self-destruction.

@Eastman

UA hasn’t won yet, but at this point they are winning.

And after they have won I certainly hope Putin is held responsible for the destruction and loss of life, both Russian and Ukrainian, that’s all on his hands!

Eastman, the US spent trillion in Iraq and Afghanistan for a lost cause

-14 ( +0 / -14 )

Yes, apparently it gets funnier every time you post this. The many dead, injured, or just starving mobilized Russian soldiers are not winning anything. Everyone is losing. Russia has an easy way out (just leave), while Ukraine does not.

Russia’s army is crap, so Putin wants an excuse to go nuclear.

8 ( +11 / -3 )

It's rather obvious that the Russians are preparing to use a dirty bomb themselves and then blame the Ukraine for it; "we told you so".

9 ( +12 / -3 )

Both Ukraine and Russia have the materials for a dirty bomb.

Explosives plus a spent nuclear fuel rod.

Ukraine needs to fight for its future and retake all of its stolen lands including Crimea.

If Ukraine is going to play with dirty bombs it can end up very dirty on the part of Russia..

Ukraine doesn't even have dirty bombs.

that was not part of this, guess now it is, along with all the new costs.

Edit: “In the meantime the responsibility for a) continuing or b) ending…”

2 ( +3 / -1 )

If Russia seriously continues on this same eight-month Hitler-esque path to conquer land and totally exterminate Ukraine and Ukrainians, then I can imagine how Ukraine might consider every last possible way of fighting back, including the threat of hitting Moscow directly with mud, rocks or branches.

If they have any sense at all they will examine every end-option available to such a mad existential threat from their east.

In the meantime the responsibility for with a) continuing or b) ending this war of attrition is still 100% in Russia’s end of the court.

I Know of one country in particular who didn't hesitate to use 2 nuclear bombs on the citizens of one country,

Yes and the 2nd country is now preparing for the same thing: Russia!

The idea that Ukraine would use a dirty nuke on its own territory is farcical.

You mean like shelling their own Nuclear power plant and accusing Russia of bombing themselves in the power station ?

There sure is a lot of Mental Sickness in Russia if they believe any of the rubbish that their press puts out. Too much vodka ? Alcoholism is rife in Russia, which probably explains their low life expectancy figures.

Lies Lies and yet more Lies from Putin. What a bore.

5 ( +10 / -5 )

I see that the Russian state media is now arguing that the war is necessary to “De-Satanize” Ukraine.

So I guess the whole De-Nazification troupe is not enough anymore.

One wonders what the next step up from “De-Satanization” (a task that the Lord our God has yet to attempt) is or how long that would take?

Russia tells U.N. Ukraine plans 'dirty bomb;

The russian Mass murdering Mob are the ones who do not hesitate to use nuclear weapons.

They are now looking for an excuse to use them, and therefore they spread the lie that Ukraine is working on a dirty bomb.

The insane mass murdering russian Mob knows now that they will lose this war, and that they have to pay the highest price for all their crimes and for all their murdering of inocent men, women and children.

And I am very sure, because the Russians knows that the only way out for them is to use nuclear weapons and therefore these russian ash...les will not hesitate to use them.

And at the end, these insane russian Mob will blame the west for it.

But I pray to God every day that I am wrong.

And I really hope that the world will never forget, in what situation these insane Russians brought the world.

This morning, in another news, the russian orthodox church head ash...le said, that Russian mothers should born more children.

So if they lose one child in the war, it is not so painful because they still have more children.

Can you believe that???

This ash...le is a man of God???

WTF!

The idea that Ukraine would use a dirty nuke on its own territory is farcical.

It really is, they'd find their wealthy allies desert them within hours. In fact it makes no sense for either side.

12 ( +16 / -4 )

Ukraine won't build or even use a "dirty nuke", why should they endanger their own population?

Why create a disaster on their own territory? Doesn't make sense at all!

But Russia, i.e. Putin & associates predict what they want to or even will do.

Blaming it as always on others. There's so many examples for this looking at the past.

But Ukraine will prevail!

The idea that Ukraine would use a dirty nuke on its own territory is farcical.

"farcical' to reasonable people, but recall some of those not so reasonable Putin supporters believe the west is satanic (whatever that might mean), similar to what some USAmerican extremists are saying. https://jp.reuters.com/article/ukraine-crisis-putin-values/putin-attacks-west-as-satanic-hails-russian-traditional-values-idUSS8N2Z80G1

Thousands have been killed, and homes and factories destroyed, since Putin ordered the invasion of Ukraine.

And the warmongers who continue to support Putin and the warmongering Kremlin still say 'it was the other-guys' that caused the problems. But, like zealots throughout history, they have been blinded by their own extremist beliefs and the Kremlin's media. I do not feel as critical of Russians, Chinese, Iranian and North Korean people, they have extremely limited access to media and information beyond what their masters allow them to have, but most other people around the world are able to find any number of perspectives on world events because they have free media. That these 'westerners' continue to support Russia says a lot about their reasoning abilities. But living in the 'west' at least they are still free to make decisions for themselves and freely express their opinions, at least if they can access western media.

It’s the Don/Soviet special: whatever you’re doing or planning to do, project and preemptively blame your opponents.

Other techniques include whataboutism, false equivalence, and disinformation.

Fortunately the West has Vlad by the short hairs, knows the truth (& says so publicly) and most importantly, Agent #1 is not in power to carry out its orders.

Stop playing hero and make negotiations before Russia really messes you up..

Ah so up until now, Russia was just "play" messing Ukraine up. Got if.

15 ( +20 / -5 )

said they hoped Russian forces who had shelled them in the past would soon withdraw.

The Ukrainians are waiting for their nation's soldiers to 'liberate them. And non-English speakers 'liberate is not a contranym, as far as I know, it's dictionary meaning is solely: free from imprisonment, slavery, or oppression. Once again, it's not surprising to read Ukrainian citizens do not feel liberated by the presence of Putin's oppressors, murderers, thieves and rapists.
