Then you are not paying attention. Six months ago was the start of the Ukraine offensive that pushed Russian forces out of large swaths of occupied territory ending in the liberation of Kherson city in November 2022, three months ago.

The media assured us that the separatists were demoralized and unwillingly to fight, but they seem to be holding their ground with valour and fierce determination.

The separatists are rarely seen, many having moved to Russia for safety. Those fighting in Ukraine are Russian forces, conscripts, prisoners and contract soldiers. They are definitely not separatists.

When was he last time you saw an armoured or combat hovercraft anywhere? Cant use what is not available. If someone began to make some they might have sufficient numbers in a couple of years time.

I heard the Russians have lost more than 50,000 dead trying to take Bakhmut and many more injured, over many months of trying to take that tiny town. Was it worth it? No, not even close.

Unfortunately this has turned out to be enormously wasteful in terms of Ukrainian manpower. Russia is using artillery and other remote means to prosecute this offensive. This notion of "human wave" attacks and high Russian casualties are pure fantasy. This is the beginning of the end for Ukraine. Sad that they have not proven able to prosecute a viable military strategy.
