“After weeks of setbacks on the battlefield, Russian authorities are facing the first sustained domestic criticism of the war”

Keep it up. This war will end from within Russia. Get rid of him.

Yes ok, Russia, Putin seems to forget, he ordered the invasion he started this war, Crying about it not going to plan, bad luck.

"We warn and hope that they realize the danger of uncontrolled escalation in Washington and other Western capitals," Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov was quoted as saying by RIA news agency on Tuesday.

It is less than the danger of doing nothing.

Russia will be hated for at least a hundred years. Just look at how Korea and China view Japan. Ukrainians will never forgive Russia for their terrorism.

Why should the west "allow" Russia to use missiles to hit at will inside Ukraine? Naturally Ukraine will be provided systems to shoot down more missiles that invariably hit civilian targets anyway.

direct conflict with NATO is not in Moscow's interests, Russia's deputy foreign minister said on Tuesday after Washington pledged more military aid for Kyiv.

Russia can take no action at all against the west supplying weapons systems to Ukraine. After all Russia is also being supplied artillery ammunition from North Korea and drones from Iran.

"We warn and hope that they realize the danger of uncontrolled escalation in Washington and other Western capitals," Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov was quoted as saying

I am sure the west hopes Russia realizes the danger of uncontrolled escalation itself, as it releases more missiles against civilian targets. But having invaded Ukraine, attempted to steal territory and murdered civilians in the tens of thousands, Russia is already guilty of uncontrolled escalation and more war crimes than any other conflict since WWII.

11 ( +17 / -6 )

“How dare the West give Ukraine the ability to defend against our air strikes on civilian targets!”

Wait till we get tired of your war crimes and decide to give them the means to hit back, Putie.

Biden got more pressing thing than Ukraine,Ukraine is not only conflict in the world, why is it a priority, it could not be about freedom, because the government of Ukraine, never upheld the value of true freedom,

"We warn and hope that they realize the danger of uncontrolled escalation in Washington and other Western capitals,"

If uncontrolled escalation bothers you Ivan, then don't do it.

Russia has been in plenty of wars as both the aggressor and the defender, yet it seems like this is their first one. They are struggling to grasp the reality that Ukraine is very able to defend itself and shows absolutely no signs of capitulation.

The president of the United Arab Emirates, a member of the group of oil producers known as OPEC+ that rebuffed the United States last week by announcing steep production cuts, will travel to Russia on Tuesday to meet Putin and push for "military de-escalation", UAE state news agency WAM reported.

Putin's allies are tiring of this invasion. They've humoured him for 6 months but there are signs that Opec, China, India et al are running out of patience. It will be interesting to see what their increasing pressure will make Putin do (or not do).

Zelensky act as though the world owe him something, acting like a spoil child when countries say no to his demand, nobody owe Ukraine anything, you either live or die on your own

New strikes just in but not as many as yesterday. UK MOD says Russians are exhausted and are running out of ammo. Dwindling stand-off munitions and no ability to resupply.

Biden says that the US will provide its advanced air defense system as a result of these strikes.

so more of reaping what Vlad sows.

Maintaining an image of a nationalist strongman has its downside in that its difficult to accept mistakes and do a course correction even if the writing is on the wall.

Russia vows to respond to greater Western involvement in Ukraine

This is the equivalent of a bully picking a fight with a weak kid who unbeknownst to him knows karate, then getting his butt kicked and, battered and bruised and his neck stuck in a chokehold, looks at all the shocked onlookers and says “You guys are next”.

Having watched the Russians get their butts kicked for seven months straight by the Ukrainians, its hard to give much credence to these threats.

Russia is saving its real weapons in case NATO attacks. Peace is best.

Two thirds of the Russian missiles were knocked out of the sky before they could reach their target. With better equipment, even fewer Russian missiles would get through.

If Putin is not stopped in Ukraine, he will keep going. The countries of Eastern Europe and Scandinavia are scared silly of Putin.

9 ( +12 / -3 )

Ok, Russia(Puti), you vow, but while you vow, please remember, you are only making your future more gloom and miserable. This is the thing Id be most afraid of if I was you...

Biden got more thing to worry about than Ukraine, like the criminal jeopardy of his son Hunter, which Zelensky tried to help Trump peddle

-22 ( +0 / -22 )

Look carefully. Putin may be using Chinese missiles.

5 ( +7 / -2 )

U.S. President Joe Biden promised to provide advanced air defense systems, and the Pentagon said on Sept. 27 it would start delivering the National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System over the next two months or so.

It's about time. Air defense should have been a priority all along.

Refresh your memory on CNN when Russia crossed the RED line and helped Assad turn the tide on the civil war. Civilians were the target and their homes. During its military intervention in Syria, Russia, Syria and Iran (best pals) unleashed an indiscriminate bombing campaign on population centers, having struck hospitals, markets and schools. Looking to redo this in Ukraine? How about a no-fly zone for Russia? Can't undo history but repeating is insane. Second look at Russia sadistic barbaric operations and where it operates, poke the Bear where it hurts most. This is Putin's war and his to lose.

Biden got more pressing thing than Ukraine,Ukraine is not only conflict in the world, why is it a priority, it could not be about freedom, because the government of Ukraine, never upheld the value of true freedom,

Ukraine IS the most pressing concern because every day people are murdered by one of the US's biggest enemies. An enemy trying to expand its borders at the expense of a friendly nation.

Biden got more thing to worry about than Ukraine, like the criminal jeopardy of his son Hunter, which Zelensky tried to help Trump peddle

GOP lies are no priority for Biden.

Zelensky act as though the world owe him something, acting like a spoil child when countries say no to his demand, nobody owe Ukraine anything, you either live or die on your own

Your anti Ukraine narratives are tiring. Zelensky acts like a leader trying desperately to save his people and his country from a ruthless invader that you seem to give a free pass at every opportunity, and denounce aid given to Ukraine to fight Russian murderers.

11 ( +13 / -2 )

war is not a solution everyone should have to think about it and stop it.

ANNNNND…..

Ukraine is kicking Russian ass up one side of the country and down the other.

Start….next two months….or so.

Biden might “owe” Zelensky something, but Americans don’t.

Russia is saving its real weapons in case NATO attacks. Peace is best.

Putin destroyed that peace once he chose to invade Ukraine. Had he not invaded Ukraine, we would be at PEACE right now at this moment. This isn't the 1900s, this isn't the 1800s, and it is not the 1600s where imperialist expansionism and colonization is an acceptable means of showing the "power" of ones "kingdom".

Lies and delusion do not equate truth and reality. Putin ruined the peace as well as the Kremlin cronies of HIS REGIME. Capitulation and appeasement has never created your version of "peace". History has taught that lesson quite a while ago.

If you think NATO will be the only one's attacking Russia if they use their "real weapons", you have another severe surprise coming. Nuclear war is a threat to all of humanity, not just NATO. Imagine not having safe food to eat, water to drink, and air to breath any more.

And in spite of your constant pro-Putin propaganda, you had better hope that certain external factors that are quite possible don't completely shut Putin's nuclear fever dream down hard... the universe is a big place...

Most Americans are intelligent enough to realize that a free, democratic Ukraine is in America and the West’s interest, and that helping them throw off the yoke of Russian tyranny is just the right thing to do.

Most Americans….

Russia will respond to the West's growing involvement in the Ukraine conflict although direct conflict with NATO is not in Moscow's interests

It certainly isn't in Moscow's interests. So the best response is for Putin to give up, pull his conscripts out, go home and hope the end is quick and clean.

"We warn and hope that they realize the danger of uncontrolled escalation in Washington and other Western capitals," Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov was quoted as saying by RIA news agency on Tuesday."

Mr Ryabkov must have forgotten how this genocide got started, the free world just can't stand by and watch a Tyrant wipe out a nation

Putin a thug and terrorist.

14 ( +14 / -0 )

Respond ? Lol what's tziny tyrant Vlad going to do ? Drop his trousers?

The Russian army is a joke.

13 ( +13 / -0 )

Oh really? Then what’s this?

Two-thirds of Americans (65%) are concerned the war may escalate if Ukraine is provided longer-range weapons that could hit undisputed Russian territory, and 58% are afraid we’re headed toward nuclear war with Russia.

-15 ( +2 / -17 )

Biden might “owe” Zelensky something, but Americans don’t.

Republicans make such good allies. When the going gets tough, the GOP run away.

Taiwan take note. If the Trump Party get back in, you cannot count on America.

13 ( +14 / -1 )

Oh really? Then what’s this?

That’s you cherry-picking and proving Mark Twain correct when he said “There are three kinds of lies: lies, damn lies, and statistics.”

This one is about as conclusive or definitive as your other stats regarding popularity or lack thereof of various authoritarian dictators of varying levels of incompetence.

The vast majority of Americans are supportive of US policy and it’s a rare example of a policy with broad bi-partisan support.

Like I said, “most” Americans understand this very basic concept.

Russia vows to respond to greater Western involvement in Ukraine

By bombing more civilian targets with no military use. And weddings

12 ( +13 / -1 )

Evidently, Vladimir Putin has not read Wolfgang Goethe the German writer, and philosopher whose most quoted phrase,

"Action without insight is a terrible thing."

Putin's attack on Ukraine on 24th February is "action without insight".

And it is going to turn into a terrible thing. World, just wait and see how terrible it is going to be.

Biden might “owe” Zelensky something, but Americans don’t.

Any proof of this or is this just more blind, rightwing hate for Biden? Pathetic.

Oh really? Then what’s this?

Am I concerned? Yes. Am I monster who puts my hatred of a US over the suffering of innocent people? Absolutely not.

Here's an interesting poll for our rightist palls. Whine moar.

https://www.thechicagocouncil.org/research/public-opinion-survey/americans-support-ukraine-long-it-takes

Majorities continue to support US economic and diplomatic sanctions against Russia (80%), accepting Ukrainian refugees into the United States (76%), providing additional arms and military supplies to the Ukrainian government (72%), and giving economic assistance to Ukraine (71%).

10 ( +10 / -0 )

I wouldn't be surprised if Putin ordered the bridge in Crimea bombed just to use it as an excuse to get other countries involved in the war on his side blaming the West.

8 ( +8 / -0 )

although direct conflict with NATO is not in Moscow's interests

Lol. No kidding.

12 ( +12 / -0 )

Normal people support the Ukrainians as they were invaded.

Deluded psychopaths support Putin.

Its very simple.
