The United States has the largest military reserves in the world. Russia has no chance of winning even in Ukraine, where NATO has a large number of Ukrainian soldiers trained to use advanced weapons. The US needs Ukraine to rebuild the contract, so the US will help Ukraine win. Russian state television has said many times about bombing several NATO countries and the United States. The United States has a large number of troops deployed around Russia, and Russia cannot mobilize a large number of troops to Ukraine. The military can threaten Russia as long as it exists around Russia.

If WWIII happens it will be due to Russia using nuclear weapons. Ukraine does not have them.

If Russia unleashes them it will be unleashing WWIII. So it is Putin decision alone. He can not accuse anyone else. If he wants this to all end he only has to recall all his forces and sue for peace with Ukraine. Otherwise this will continue, more will die, the world will continue to arm and supply Ukraine. All countries' representatives on the UN Security Council should walk out of any meeting when Russia is allowed to take its seat. Russia inherited that seat when the USSR collapsed, and certainly doesn't deserve a veto. Nor does any other member of that council.

If Russia uses its nuclear weapons against the West, and the West reciprocates, it will be a nuclear holocaust, followed by a nuclear winter. To paraphrase Einstein, if WW III is fought with nuclear weapons, WW IV will be fought with sticks and stones.

The reason there has been no WW III so far is because the people in charge know that mutually assured destruction will be the result of a nuclear war.....and because of luck. When MacArthur threatened to use nuclear weapons against China, President Truman removed him from power. When Khrushchev threatened to use nuclear weapons against China, the Politburo removed him from power. So far, we have been lucky, but that does not mean we will always be lucky. I don't know what the future holds, but I like my freedom, and I do not want a nuclear war.

Such a naively silly comment. They are winning DUE to getting the support they need. You know that as well as anyone. That support will continue and will allow them to hold Russia off and cost Russia greatly in wealth, weaponry lost and used and deaths of their son's and fathers in battle invading Ukraine for Putin's sick ambitions.

A Ukraine alone with no support would lose to a much bigger and stronger Russia. But a Ukraine given the aid it needs will continue to resist and to remain free and sovereign.

Some posting here wish Ukraine stood alone so Russia could win easily and quickly, snuffing out Ukraine freedom in the process.
