Russian hackers targeting U.S. political campaigns, Microsoft says

Thanks Microsoft!

Since our own agencies can't report to our Congress, your assistance is greatly appreciated!

The same Russian military intelligence outfit that hacked the Democrats in 2016

And of course Russians and the 'Useful I...s' in the 'west's' right wing parrot the old soviet (and current right wing) 'Can't prove it! Can't prove it'. They continue to ignore reports from 'western' intelligence agencies saying the Russians - and Turkish, Iranian and Chinese - troll armies are involved in using media in attempts to undermine 'western' systems.

Not surprising that pro-Trump 'American' 'journalists' SMH LOL are reported to be paid by Russian sources to send pro-Trump, anti-Biden messages to the many far right news outlets and social media sites.

These 'American' 'journalists' are willing to help 'foreign' states bring the US even lower - for a few dollars more. Their bank account trumps their nation, just like their Trump.

The sad thing is thanks to all of the scandals over the past almost 4 years surrounding this administration, this will barely register as a blip in people's minds. When it should be a huge red flag and we should take action against it, but nothing will happen.

USA = United States of Apathy

So the US election is basically Russia vs. China.

That's a perspective, one most likely shared by the bifurcators who want an intellectually vulnerable audience to view America's issues as black or white, one side v. the other. That's a tactic used by authoritarian regimes throughout history, currently used by the Republican rapid response team, Kremlin troll armies and others in the global far right.

Microsoft is very interested in the chinese market, is it?

-8 ( +3 / -11 )

Of course they are Russian. They could not possibly be American. Even CIA agents wear white hats. Sure.

As if it matters anyway when we have a choice dictated to us by the one percent of the one percent. Sabotaged Bernie twice. How the HELL am I supposed to care anymore?

Trump has changed the world. The truth is now dead.

3 ( +7 / -4 )

Russia has been attacking US elections since just after WWII. Only the methodology has changed. This was common dinner table talk back in the early 60s.

Now do an article on how the US has been continuously involved in similar attacks against Russia, Middle Eastern countries (all of them), our neighbors to the south to include Mexico & Central America, Southeast Asia, African nations, and pretty much all of Europe. I could have simply said "the whole world" but that would be untrue. They pretty much leave Kiribati and Liechtenstein alone.

These attacks target countries for their natural resources typically and both the Republicans & Democrats support this agenda. Obama expanded the number of wars during his tenure from 3 to 7 so it's not simply a Republican or Trump thing although he's egotistical enough to probably want to brag that it is all his idea.

Russia continues to interfere in our democracy, they ram out troops off the road in Syria, they place bounties on them in Afghanistan. conduct unsafe intercepts of our aircraft in international airspace, fly their nuclear-capable bombers inside our airspace, murder their democracy activists, and support our enemies...

And our President says.....nothing. In fact, he's told his intel officials to downplay any Russian threat....

Just more evidence we have a Russian asset in the White House...

Yeah, I know. When the Dems lose the election, it'll be either because of the failure of the bail-in ballots or the Russian hacking story. Then they can have another chance at it.

This was the Republican plan all along, wasn't it? That's why they didn't pass any sort of election security legislation, isn't it? Scumbags.

How come Obama didn't do anything about Russian interference in the 2016 election?

The sanctimony here is insufferable.

Yeah, we should have a Chinese asset in there instead.

Novichok poisonings and Russian hackers for the love of Trump....What else is Russia infamous for? Let's see, shooting down foreign airliners with its surface to air missiles, hmm, invading and annexing the real estate of its neighbors, etc.

Hey, thanks for agreeing with me Trump is a Russian asset...another convert....

And we already have a Chinese asset there - our one and the same President, who has been business partners with the CCP for decades - getting his Trump Collection clothing line made in their sweatshop factories.

Buy a Trump tie, help fund a missile aimed at us...

Ah, the evil Russians again. It is not like the biased "mainstream media" are "targetting" the election is it.

Yeah, I know. When the Dems lose the election, it'll be either because of the failure of the bail-in ballots or the Russian hacking story. Then they can have another chance at it.

They are talking about it already. The scenario is called the "red mirage". I.e. Trump wins on election day, and they will keep "finding" all these snail mail ballots until the "correct" result can be achieved.

Oh, those Russians...

2 ( +3 / -1 )

GRU military intelligence unit, known as Fancy Bear........Chinese hackers from the state-backed group known as Hurricane Panda

Sure, sure, secret hackers' groups like to give themselves secret, untraceble names that wouldn't obviously connect them with any state.

@lincolnman

they place bounties on them in Afghanistan

Even Pentagon preferred to disavow this canard.

fly their nuclear-capable bombers inside our airspace

Where, when?

China's hackers largely gather intelligence for the nation's economic and political advantage, while Russia tends to weaponize stolen data to destabilize other governments.

The Chinese governments military hackers seems to have had a much greater influence over the goals, and tactics, of the democrat party's leadership.

-3 ( +4 / -7 )

“Its those evil Russians again!”

Like Microsoft would ever dare criticize China. No credibility, no thanks. Dems will grab onto it though like a drowning man grabbing at a straw.

-3 ( +2 / -5 )

Ah, the evil Russians again

Once again the 'Russians', like in 2016, are being aided by 'American' alt right posters parroting messages from one of the Kremlin's troll armies. In 2016 it was 'if Hillary doesn't (do whatever) it's going to upset Russia and start WW3'. In 2020 the issues Russia's 'useful I...s' parrot are voter fraud, anti-fascists are bad, as are those who support BLM (while the alt right talk about 'suburban property values'), and China.

Six of one and half a dozen of the other when it comes to election interference by the major powers. It's a giant pot-kettle-black party.

Burning Bush: So the US election is basically Russia vs. China.

Through US social media.
