If this is a forced withdrawal by Putin's forces from Snake Island then this cruel and gratuitous bombing of civilian dwellings is very likely retaliation. Whatever it is, it is a crime against humanity. The sooner Putin and his crew are recycled the better. The better for both Ukraine and Russia.

Of course, apart from learning some history that exercise would be futile, because this invasion has nothing to do with NATO expansion. This was is about Russian imperialistic expansion.

How is it ignorant to cheer on or support the smaller country being invaded? The two sides here aren't equally bad. Ukraine is unquestionably in the right, and Russia, the country doing the invading, is unquestionably wrong.
Wow! A compelling, original idea. You know what would "stop it?" If Russia went back home and left Ukraine alone.
UChosePoorly
Nope.

Odd thing to say, since you took Trump’s word on Putin and it’s still controlling your mind.
So you took Trumps word, and then you had to take Putin’s, and then you had to formulate a reason in your mind to support, or at least excuse the Russian invasion.
Your mind is a slave to right wing American politics. Everything is seen through that lens.

what’s sad is people defending Russia for not only their invasion, but also their subsequent atrocities.
you’ve never condemned him either.
another weak attempt at justification for this invasion
FizzBit
I guess in your mind it seems like “cheering on”. That’s sad. I can only recommend you do some history reading to find out how many decades Russia has been warning about NATO expansion. But they keep coming. The fact that so many are surprised by this says a lot about controlling the narrative. And who controls that? Wars happen. A lot. Throughout thousands of years of human history. It’s your job to try to fully understand as many complexities as possible, and NEVER take any government, corporate media, or politician at their word.
Oh, and one more thing. Your emotional “cheering on” comment, I’ve never said GO Putin! Yet there are many on here saying GO Ukraine! That’s just ignorance. I’ve always said stop it! But that would require NATO to fess up, which they’ll never do, so the war and the warmongering will continue.

duh, if Russia had of stayed home - no war.
why should Ukraine have talks with another country over an internal dispute ?
how dare countries supply Ukraine with weapons to defend themselves against an invading army !?
the only thing extending this war is the Russian army occupying a neighbouring country & murdering its citizens.
yep, you summed it up perfectly

The governor of Lughansk is not in Lughansk, just propoganda

Russia must be incredibly lousy shots, then.

the only people supporting a world war, are those who are cheering on this Russian invasion.
this pathetic excuse for the invasion has been shot down more times that Russian aircraft.

From Russia’s so-called ‘goodwill gesture’ one day before to yet another massacre on the long list of Russian atrocities.
rainyday
I think you misunderstood, those are examples of excuses for a Russian atrocity, specifically the one this article is about, which you seem to be fine with Russia committing until one day it might hit you that you’re supporting a potential World War.
Yrral
Ask not what Ukraine cannot do for itself, ask what you can do for Ukraine, NATO is a dysfunctional organization, Germany is pressuring Lithuania to let Russian transit too Kalingrad, Turkey is stopping German and US press fron broadcasting,
FizzBit
Making excuses for US NATO provocations sounds witty and cheeky, and you’ll feel good until reality hits someday that you’re supporting a potential World War.

Ok I’m definitely on board was confused? pro, anti ? At least I asked. Now I know. Just wasn’t clear to me. Sorry not disrespectful on my part just clarifying what your point was. I’m chilled like a ice cream cookie.
tooheysnew
Take a chill pill - It is sarcasm aimed at the pro Russian anti west Putin fanboys, who always come up with lame excuses for the atrocities the Russians commit.
Cricky
I’m not sure what point the poster is getting at? Is it sarcasm? Or beliefs.

Let me get all the excuses out of the way from the pro Russian anti west Putin fanboys -
it was a Ukrainian missile.
‘you need to be clearer in your point, I thought at first that you were defending Russian atrocities but after reading again I get you you were doing the opposite. More clarity please. And drop the fake news thing, it’s propaganda, fake news is a fad. Call it for what it is propaganda. Or you actually believe a grandmother and kindergarten child are roaming the streets with (by the way AK-47s have been replaced with upgraded models) but still I’m confused about your point

ukrainian military were using this residential area as a base
the grandmother & kindergarten kid had AK-47’s
it never happened - fake news

Another day, another shelling of residential areas, another day of atrocities.
This is what a "normal day" looks like for Ukrainians.
More war crimes committed by the Russian invaders / occupiers adding up to the already long list.
Worries that Lysychansk will become an Azovstal Ver2.1 with Russians attempting another encirclement.
