S Korean coast guard kills Chinese boat captain

Can you imagine what will happen if Japanese Coast Guard had killed Chinese ship Captain?

I’m sorry for Chinese ship captain and his family. I wish S. Korean coast guard had done differently instead of shot and killed him.

The Chinese captain began resisting violently when four other Chinese fishing ships pulled nearby and sent their crew members aboard the ship being inspected, said coast guard officer Cho Nam-yong.

Chinese fishermen wielded knives and beer bottles and chocked some South Korean officer after knocking off their helmets, according to a coast guard statement. Five South Korean officers received minor injuries, the coast guard said.

"Chocked" or "choked"?

What did the fishermen expect after that? Coast Guard to get off their boat? Really?

Sounds like the captain brought it on himself. Crews of all five boats should have been arrested.

Sounds like typical Chinese lawlessness.

There has also been past incidents where scuffles between these fisherman and South Korea’s resulted in the death of someone. Indeed, last year a South Korean court sentenced a Chinese fishermen to 30 years in jail after he stabbed and killed a South Korean Coast Guard officer.

Then he shouldn't have attacked the KCG. Coast Guard everywhere are Law Enforcement Officers, it's like attacking the police.

Is Mr Hong also "appalled" by the violence used by the other Chinese fishermen, I wonder?

Such violence is common in China; is Mr Hong appalled by the violence used by the Chinese government during "law enforcement" at Tiananmen Square, which led to the deaths of hundreds?

Sounds like a cover up for something else. The Korean officer should face murder charges.
