Interesting that the article doesn't mention the vaccination rate. Given the media's poor track record of dishonesty during this pandemic, I think they omitted it on purpose because it would look bad that most if not all of the infections, deaths and hospitalisations would be of vaccinated people. SK has a higher rate of vaccination than Japan, at about 82%. I wonder what the difference is?

Looking at data from the US, unvaccinated people are contracting Covid at 5x the rate and dying at 13x the rate compared to vaccinated.

Can’t argue with those results. Vaccinations are not perfect, but quite effective.

Meaning the vaccine passports didn't work because now vaccinated people are filling up hospitals even though last month "the science" said that they wouldn't.

A reference for this? because everywhere the opposite is being reported. Unvaccinated people are the ones that are more likely to end up in hospitals.

Also no, the science said from the beginning about the dangers of variants that would reduce the efficacy of the immunity (from vaccines or the infection) and that is why vaccination should have progressed more, to avoid it.

Why is that? it mentions the reason the experts have postulated for the increase of cases, and the percentage of people unvaccinated is enough to keep hospitals full of patients, I mean, 10 million people remain unvaccinated. There is no mystery, abandoning completely social distancing measures and events where huge number of people congregate are enough to promote infections.

Both vaccinated and unvaccinated are ending up in the hospital, it's clearly stated.

Breakthrough infections also refer to people that were infected before the infection breaks out from immunity not from the vaccine only. Also, even if you had one vaccinated hospitalization for every 9 unvaccinated ones it would be expressed like that, so you can't just assume both are doing it in the same degree, specially since it has been reported everywhere else that unvaccinated people represent a much higher percentage of the cases.

The point is that Japan will be watching their near neighbor South Korea very closely, and vice versa, as always. Compared to Korea, Japan is 'successful', but this very success means further continued isolation from the world.

No mention of North Korea though, which has not hahahaha... uh.. had a single case of WURS so far.
