Things will balance out. Doctors go on strike. After a few weeks, not so many doctors will be needed.
Morticians on the other hand...

A 65% increase would balance things for the benefit of the population (as long as there is no unbalance like in Japan with lots of doctors all crowded together in big cities) but it would really hurt the profits and privileges enjoyed right now by the physicians, it is obvious they will resist. The situation was made much worse by the government letting the situation escalate to this point, now it is likely the problems will be much worse before things normalize again.

Please let it not be the same as in USA which has the highest spending on healthcare but among the worse in healthcare system. It is not affordable for many people because pharma, hospitals, clinics, and doctors are highly paid. MD in USA is known as key to being rich which is totally against the idea of medicine which is to take care of patients, not poor and bankrupt. Simple demand and supply theory, make it competitive, increase supply to control cost. As long as med. students pass all required tests and certified, the more the better.

Consider, for just a moment, what is happening on the ground in South Korea.
A ped doctor I spoke to at a conference last year told our table that physician salaries are static and negotiations for pay increases are going nowhere. All the while the government is, more and more, seeking foreign recent practitioners to work on the cheap. He said historically the government just doesn't value them, and sees them as disposible. He said that he was tired of it all, and was seriously thinking of accepting a professorship at a medical school in Australia.
As many things in life, the definition of the problem depends on who you ask.

@tom toto The reason why the USA has the highest spending on healthcare Some of the factors that contribute to the high healthcare spending in the United States, include, high administrative costs you have a healthcare system that has a complex administrative structure, which includes insurance billing and paperwork, which contribute to higher overhead costs.Healthcare services and prescription drugs tend are more expensive in the U.S. compared to other countries because of the cost of medical technology, pharmaceuticals, and physician fees. You have doctors who fear malpractice lawsuits which leads to defensive medicine practices, which also force healthcare providers to order unnecessary tests and procedures to avoid litigation, which drives up costs. You have a healthcare system that is fragmented, with multiple payers (private insurance, Medicare, Medicaid) and providers, leading to inefficiencies and duplication of services. You have pharmaceutical companies who often charge higher prices for prescription drugs compared to other countries, where the government gets involved to negotiate prices or regulate them directly. The U.S. has a high prevalence of chronic diseases, such as obesity, diabetes, and heart disease, which require ongoing and costly medical care. Yes, we have technological advances that improve healthcare outcomes, but they also contribute to higher costs, as new treatments and procedures tend to be expensive. One other factor is you have massive immigration, where immigrants are crowding hospitals and unable to pay the cost of hospitalization so that cost is passed off to the tax payers and also drives up cost as Medicaid and Medicare is left footing the bill. Medical school is not CHEAP I know this for a fact coming from a family of doctors. Yes doctor are highly paid in their later years but they are on the hook for paying for those medical school LOANS that can go well over $450,000. I don't know of any doctor that put themselves through such a tough regiment of stress went to school to be rich, actually they come out poor saddle down with huge loans. I would say the majority of then 97% really want to do the best they can to save lives and do good things in the communities they serve. Medical school is very competitive and I do agree the cost should be controlled because its too expensive many don't make it past their first year after receiving their white coat. The key is passing boards I agree but it takes a special person to survive such a journey.
