Interesting read.

I’ll give you this much “Some** Americans are a way from resolving their racism and becoming more ‘color-blind’ as people.**” -

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

What did the Asian community do to the Black community?

how dare you try to look at the actual problem!

were you not told this is only happening because orange guy called it the Chyna flu?

get back in compliance with the narrative, immediately.

(LA riots, issues with Korean owned stores in Black neighborhoods cause a lot of this friction as a simpllstic starting point)

Racism is not an only American problem. The main difference is, it’s just more in your face and not behind your back.

Anti-Japan, and also anti-Japanese. Some in those hordes might just be flame fanning, perhaps for another government Or perhaps for one of their 'political belief systems' that want even more divisions, after all authoritarian systems and despots throughout history have used divide and conquer tactics. And media of all sorts, especially social media have provided the divisive sorts, government funded plus individual volunteers from around the globe numerous ways to spread their divisive messsages.

Sorry. I fail to see how that relates to what is happening to the Asian community and strangely, why is it overwhelmingly the black community what would be the motivating factor? What did the Asian community do to the Black community? How do we stop it. Do we need to bring both sides to the table for talks? Again, so many questions and no one is asking any questions?

Ask the hordes of people making anti-Japan comments on this site.

Foul. What is so difficult about treating others as human beings?

In what should come as a shock to no one, this is the natural result of all the sinophobic anti-China propaganda that the country has been pushing. You can see it everywhere, including the stories that got posted on this very site. If you spend the majority of every news cycle creating a McCarthy style boogyman, people lash out.

Either this is the intended result of the propaganda campaign, or the govt was so clueless that they were entirely oblivious to the fact that this would happen. I am frankly not sure which is worse, maliciousness or gross incompetence.

But no, as per usual people are going to try to break it down along party lines, with Republicans and Democrats both just pointing at the other side and saying "their fault!".

Perhaps you need to read those @10:03am comments again, *@nero 10:53am ***? **- It was:

“*Hatred fueled by governments, politicians, media and ‘those within social media’, promoting hatred of a people, or a country’s people. *

If I didn’t misinterpret the tone of your comments, perhaps you agree, it’s:

humans attacking other humans”

Once again,

*“Some self-reflection on biases, motives & intentions is desperately needed within the community.” *

Some of those on the outside just want to make passive-aggressive, blanket statements that fuel foreign misconceptions about the people within a country.

@Pukey

Nice try. All the Asian hate crimes are happening in Blue cities. New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, etc. Nothing to do with Trump calling COVID the "Chinese Virus". Asians need to be careful in these cities as criminal acts against them have exploded.

Certain residents of these Blue cities have been failed by their "leaders" for generations, so politicians of course look for convenient scapegoats. In this case, honest, hard-working, successful, Asians.

Example- former mayor of New York Bill De Blasio suggesting Asians were unfairly taking the place of other minorities in highly competitive prep schools, so admission criteria was changed. Same with the Ivy League schools, and the US Supreme Court will soon decide whether the blatant discrimination against Asians can continue.

These Asians need to make like the Korean rooftop guys did in the 1992 LA riots. Once they stopped being easy pickings of low-hanging fruit, their property and persons were left alone.

because no racial descriptors were used in the article

How many articles about white people say, "John Doe, a white man..."?

0 ( +5 / -5 )

People get stressed out, and they've just got to go out and find someone or something to hate. Same ole story.

@snowymountainhell

Righht it's the government that makes me kick that old Asian lady.

Dislike of China is not new. Especially here in Asia where they have been bullying other countries. But only in America does it transform into violence. If the pandemic turned people into racist then what of LA riots in 1992 ? @pukey2 is right. The west suffers from messiah complex. They must tell others how to live, how not to be racist, etc in short they must always virtue signal no matter how broken their society is.

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

Well, that’s the sad thing, but as I continue to say, no one wants to talk about the stats of any of these problems unless it deal with Whites and or conservatives and I feel no one wants to get to the main cause of the problem or even debate it, just sweep it under a rug and hope that no one will talk about it and ignore it.

In 2018, there were 182,230 reports of Asian victims. Of these, the offender was white 24% of the time and Black 28% of the time. For comparison, the US population is 62% White, 12% Black, 17% Hispanic, and 6% Asian.

So while the US population has more white people than black people, Asians are victimized in violent crime by Black people more often than by Black people even without adjusting for the population difference.”

In other words, the rate of victimization of Black on Asian violent crime is 280 TIMES HIGHER than Asian on Black crime. It’s all sourced and not difficult to find and let me repeat before the usual liberals start screaming, pointing these stats does not in any way, shape or form mean that a person is racist. The government and FBI crimes stats are from the largest law enforcement agency.

https://www.financegeek.org/chinese/black-on-asian-crime/

So the question is, why? I really want to know, but our political leaders are very cautious to make sure we don’t talk about this and so nothing changes. Think about this, when the perpetrator of a homicide is White that is the first thing that is mentioned, if the person is non-white, we hear nothing for a very long time. Why is that?

0 ( +6 / -6 )

How do you know it's a non-white person?

because no racial descriptors were used in the article

and by who is seen in these videos that are mentioned, but not identified as the attackers in the article.

In San Francisco and elsewhere, video clips of Asian Americans being attacked and robbed on public streets

1 ( +7 / -6 )

odd there are no racial descriptors used when its a non white person.

How do you know it's a non-white person?

-4 ( +4 / -8 )

Officials there say there is no indication the man was motivated by racial bias

"the man", huh? odd there are no racial descriptors used when its a non white person.

This is driven by the people from the top whose xenophobia and anti-China hate has fuelled this backlash from people from all walks of society, including a lot of the posters on JT.

Ignorance is ignorance and all I see here is someone coddling the perpetrators. It is like being cool with letting free a mass murderer because they were victimized by society growing up. A normal human being can think for themselves.

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

A CNN producer admits that the network is having a hard time with the "Stop Asian Hate" campaign because all the attacks on Asians are coming from Blacks. He expresses anxiety that this risks undercutting BLM.

He also admits that stories where the perpetrator of a crime is not White just seem to disappear and there is an intense focus on stories where the bad guy is White.

We already knew all of this, but it's always good to have more evidence.

Agreed, “Foul” @P.Smith 8:00am. - Deplorable news with ‘humans attacking other humans”. - Hatred fueled by governments, politicians, media and ‘those within social media’ promoting hatred of a people, or a country’s people. Some self-reflection on biases, motives & intentions is desperately needed within the community.

@P. Smith 8:00am: “Foul. What is so difficult about treating others as human beings?”

@zichi 9:43am: “Americans attacking other Americans.” -

Despite claiming to be diverse it's the west particularly liberal places like SF or NYC that have the vilest racism. Just being an Asian in public can get you spat on, slammed, punched, kicked or shoved to an incoming train. And then they come to Japan and pontificate us all about diversity.

Why so ‘cryptic’ *@bass4funk 9:30am ***? **- While some (myself included) may not always agree with you, you shouldn’t feel you have to skirt or censor something you may be inferring on this ‘open forum’. Just give the links and let others decide if you feel it’s relevant:

You are right, but it doesn’t work when they get zapped.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

This hate will not stop until USA and its Anglo lackeys stop all this anti-China rhetoric. Two-faced.

Anglo lackeys? I think you really need to look at the stats of who are the biggest perpetrators of Asian crime so far within the last two years. It’s on record, look it up. As far as the hate goes, it won’t stop until the media is honest about this and stops Cherry-picking stories of what and how it wants certain groups of people to be portrayed and refuses to engage in any dialogue whatsoever, it helps no one, but their political agenda.

regardless of race, ethnicity, vaccination status or skin color.

Only one of these things is a public health concern.

It gave me great pleasure to see that San Francisco granny whack the heck out of that guy who attacked her. But shocked to see that only he was offered a stretcher to be taken into an ambulance. This hate will not stop until USA and its Anglo lackeys stop all this anti-China rhetoric. Two-faced.

We're all just SICK of hearing about these hateful attacks on our hard working Asian citizens by violent, and racist people.
