we are responsible for helping those less fortunate.

That's bs Sarah! Im one of your biggest supporters, but we need to look out for ourselves in our own country first! Haiti can look after their own hellhole.

Sounds more like a PR inspired photo-op, rather than a genuine mercy mission. Why take along a Fox News rep?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

maybe you'd prefer CNN (Communist News Network)?

Agreed,

AP sure spun what should be a positive article to give that negative impression big-time. I'm also glad that they mentioned she was she wearing

Palin was wearing cargo pants, a T-shirt and designer sunglasses.

Wonder how much those 'designer sunglasses' cost. How could she! Doesn't she know what she paid for those glasses could feed a Haitian family for an entire year!!!!..........Spin, Spin, Spin

sailwind,

Jealousy and covetousness are deadly sins. Sarah works hard for what she has and doesnt need you telling her how to spend her money.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Fox News Reporter? Designer sunglasses? Oh well of course this is not sincere. As sailwind said. It's all spin for those crazies that usually come here. But I am surprised Sarah knew where Haiti was. This will really bring up her experience level in International dealings.

Agreed, instead of actually going and visiting the country she should have shown her "sincerity" by just writing and sending a check like most Liberals do.

by just writing and sending a check like most Liberals do.

lol, except the liberals would rather send a check with YOUR money.

"Former Alaska Gov Sarah Palin arrived Saturday in Haiti as part of a brief humanitarian mission .."

I'm sure they thought she was just another nosey tourist.

Sarah Palin in Haiti.

Like Elvis in Congo.

Who?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I wonder if she reads ALL the Haitian newspapers.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Perhaps she is having mercy on America by leaving.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

president obama couldn't be bothered to visit. had a Christmas party to go to.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

You're right. He also sent an aircraft carrier group, mountains of food, water, and the Marines to assist Haitians.

If you remember.....

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I wish obama could look as presidential as Mrs Palin does.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Mrs. Palin, if she is ever let loose in the world f foreign diplomacy, will be a complete and utter joke and conservatives know it.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Mrs. Palin, if she is ever let loose in the world f foreign diplomacy, will be a complete and utter joke and conservatives know it.

You say that now, but when she does become your president, you can bet she will be a straight-shooter and shoot from the hip. She wont mince words with our so-called "allies" and if they dont like it, she will tell them exactly where to go (hell)

You can also bet your bottom dollar that North Korea and Iran wont give us any more lip and will know their place.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

goodog - "She wont mince words with our so-called "allies" and if they dont like it, she will tell them exactly where to go (hell)"

She has already minced, messed up and bungled enough of her words for any serious patriotic American to know she's not up to running a hockey mums group, let aone America.

Wow a story on Palin going to Haiti can get the liberals and the winger really upset. So much so that they go off on tangents about other presidents. That is some kind of power this silly woman holds. Even sillier to invoke that kind of reaction.

Governor Palin and Greta van Susteren have had a pretty long relationship with Rev Franklin Graham and his Samaritan’s Purse relief organization in their charitable relief and humanitarian efforts in the past.

Glad to see that relationship continued to help those in Haiti right now.

From their website on the trip.

Franklin Graham surveyed our work with cholera patients, handed out Operation Christmas Child shoe box gifts to children, and visited a shelter community Samaritan’s Purse built in the aftermath of the January earthquake after arriving in Haiti on Saturday.

Samaritan’s Purse teams have been working in Haiti since a deadly earthquake devastated the country in January. Still struggling to recover from the quake, the Haitian people have more recently suffered from the growing cholera epidemic that has claimed more than 2,000 lives and from a hurricane that pummeled the island nation in November.

“I don't know of any people in recent years who have suffered more, and in such a short period of time than the people of this small country—with an earthquake, a hurricane, and now a cholera epidemic,” said Graham, the Samaritan’s Purse president.

Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is accompanying Graham on the trip. Last year, Gov. Palin joined Graham to hand out food parcels to families in Native Alaskan villages facing hunger because of a harsh winter.

"I appreciate her willingness to visit Haiti during such troubled times,” Graham said. “I believe Gov. Palin will be a great encouragement to the people of Haiti and to the organizations, both government and private, working so hard to provide desperately needed relief."

Greta Van Susteren of Fox News is also on the trip. In 2008 and 2009, Van Susteren made trips to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea with Samaritan’s Purse to report on our medical work.

Excellent research sailwind. This just goes to show how much more efficiently wealth can be used when in the hands of private citizens instead of being taxed and squandered by governments.

Wrong answer...... Ton's of well intentioned money donated to private relief organizations have been squandered or funneled into corrupt local warlords or other 'charitable' front organizations that have their own agendas which has nothing to do with helping those in need. Fortunately Samaritans Purse is not one of them. Governments also have a vital role as they are the only ones that do have the means to actually deliver aid where it is needed most, mainly through the use of that Nations Military to deliver the supplies through helicopters, maritime cargo ships and other "publicly owned assets" and also provide the security that the aid is not looted or squandered. Both play a vital role in a successful humanitarian relief partnership. I will agree that most private organizations are better in ensuring that long-term relief is being used to the best advantage but again it depends on the private organization itself and how they manage their donations from individuals. Bottom line is to give to the charity of your choice but do your research first to make sure that your donation may not be doing more harm then good after all.

Oh, and PeaceWarrior (Nice name, dude!) you elitist types need to stop thinking that your level of thinking is higher.

Thanks for calling me an elitist type, it is better than some of the other names I've been called on this site. So far, you've written nothing to make me stop from thinking that my level of thinking is higher. Here's something though, I am part of the liberal conspiracy... Wahahahaha!

Sarah Palin is still a joke, whether you like to admit it or not. A joke and a quitter.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Better Mrs Palin representing our country in Haiti than the first lady.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I just read Ms. Palin traveled in part by helicopter.

Did hard-working U.S. taxpayers get clobbered with the bill for this patsy photo-op jaunt???

Here's yet another example that conservatives have no respect or idea how to handle other people's money.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I wonder if Rush Limbaugh has any more comments to direct at relief for Haiti with this visit.

You should actually do some research before getting your typical degrading smear on for Palin and anything she does. Go to Samaratan's purse (website) main page and tell us that yellow helicopter is U.S Government property.

Ms. Palin: "I've really enjoyed meeting this community. They are so full of joy,"

Hello? Is she sure her handlers correctly told her where she is???

0 ( +0 / -0 )

what was Palin supposed to say - ? "These Haitians, they are as miserable and whiny as the libs who hound me and my family everywhere we go" ? ?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"what was Palin supposed to say - ? "These Haitians, they are as miserable and whiny as the libs who hound me and my family everywhere we go" ? ?"

No, she should have just been honest and said, "I only want to hold your hand and kiss your baby because I desperately need stock photos for my 2012 presidential campaign to take America back to the 18th century."

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The headline is as misleading as Ms. Palin's motives - "Sarah Palin arrives in Haiti with mercy mission"

Fox News is a 'mercy mission'?

I didn't know that.

Next thing they'll be telling us is Ms. Palin was caught giving gifts to children or something.

Oh, they already have - my bad.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

The headline is as misleading as Ms. Palin's motives - "Sarah Palin arrives in Haiti with mercy mission"

I agree. I can picture it now that past conversation in the secret den of evil headquarters in Wasilla.

"Is our Earthquake machine and cholera microbes ready to be released on Haiti yet Todd?"......."We need that darn photo op before Christmas!!!!!!"

"Almost ready my wife of pure evilness, one last tweak and there!!! Release the Quake and the Microbes!!!!"

Bwahahahaha

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Really Sail, with comments like that, you make Ms. Palin look like she actually cares for Haitians....

And that's 'damn,' not 'dam.' :-)

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Sarah Palin is a lot late. Hollywood actors and actresses have already been on the ground in Haiti. They all share the same intention. If one is gonna do it, don't be late!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

lostrune - "Hollywood actors and actresses have already been on the ground in Haiti. They all share the same intention."

I disagree.

As a politician, Ms. Palin is not in the same league as actors and actresses. Indeed, Ms. Palin knows she needs some photos to show her followers that she actually is a kind and compassionate human being who shoots defenceless wolves from helicoptors because - hey! - it's fun and she likes doing it.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

okay sushisake 3, I think we all get that you aren't going to vote for Palin anytime soon. She terrifies you democrat boys. You have about a third of the material on this comment thread. So who are you going to vote for? It might come as a shock to a lib but you can't vote for a Hollywood actor unless they actually run for office.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

And that's 'damn,' not 'dam.' :-)

Ummm...That's 'Darn' not 'dam.'

And I haven't seen one shred of evidence that she doesn't care about Haitians and they're plight right now. Unless you've got some sort of actual "credible" evidence to the contrary instead of just smears, I'm going with that she cared enough to even go in person to the country to lend her support to them at the behest of Samaritan’s Purse relief organization and the good Reverend Franklin Graham, and to help him and his organization get some much needed publicity for his good work and worthy cause during this holiday season.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

hey sushisake 3

I asked you a question. Who are u gonna vote for? You don't like Palin. She scares u. We get that. You guys got whooped last month and you r just lashing out.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I'm not American, although what happens in U.S. politics directly affects myself and my countrymen.

And no, Ms. Palin doesn't scare me - what scares me is the stunning level of stupidity I believe an American voter would have to have to think she was a viable candidate for the office of president.

And talking about getting whooped, if you were paying even the slightest bit of attention, you would have noted that the GOP and TP picked up so may seats this time because the GOP had a nuke put under them by Obama and the Dems in 2008.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Palin is getting crapped on for doing charity work? Man, "progressives" have completely lost it. If this woman is so irrelevant why does the media pick up stories like this? Lots of ppl do charity work. Good for her but there are bigger stories out there. It's like some people, "feminists" no less, can' t get enough of just hating this woman as much as possible. Truly bizarre.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

When did she become a polititian again?. If I recall she quit, joined faux news, stars in a reality show, but when did she join back into politics?.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

A lot of Hollywood actors and actresses get crapped on for during charity work, even if we haven't seen one shred of evidence that they don't care about the people they're helping and their plights. There's no difference.

DXXJP, Palin is still a politician, just behind the scenes, same as Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney. Even if not a queen-to-be but a king-maker.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

sushisake 3 you really don't make too much sense. Sarah Palin's charity work in Haiti directly threatens you and your countrymen? that is pretty funny to read.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Here's what a totally desperate not to mention absurd leap of logic looks like:

SushiSake3: "what happens in U.S. politics directly affects myself and my countrymen."

6bncapitalists: "Sarah Palin's charity work in Haiti directly threatens you and your countrymen? that is pretty funny to read."

0 ( +0 / -0 )

DXXJP at 06:26 PM JST - 12th December

When did she become a polititian [politician] again?

That's a joke right. She runs all over the country endorsing candidates and inserting herself into campaigns. She gives political speeches at tea party functions. Furthermore, she has been doing the Iowa thing. I wonder why?

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Chill out Sushi. There is as much chance of Sarah Palin becoming president as there is of her becoming a member of AKB48. Right now she fills a useful role, that is all she is there for. If she gets any ideas that she is about more than that, she will receive an offer she can't refuse.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

the left wing nuts are going crazy again. Why attack Palin for doing a charitable cause? I hope you're also attacking Bill Clinton for it. The Left really needs to examine their hatred and address their personal issues.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

sushisake:

I'm not American,

:-D

0 ( +0 / -0 )

King maker!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

She should go home to Alaska and look after her family. Enough of this useless flying all over the place. If she is so concerned about Haiti then you just should have send a cheque and not tie up resources by showing her around. What the heck does she think she can do there anyway? Another photo opportunity for her presidential aspirations. Jan

0 ( +0 / -0 )

"...the left wing nuts are going crazy again. Why attack Palin for doing a charitable cause?"

Again, I find it amusing that the same people out and out defending the dolt here were the same criticizing Obama after hearing Rush Limbaugh's take on helping the people of Haiti after the big quake.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

If she gave the slightest toss about people living in poverty, she wouldn't be the nasty right-wing republican that she is. All for show.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Talk about moxy. Judging from the spelling Palin's haters here aren't even American. She is cool.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

No offense, but you've posting so many times how you love the SNL skit and Tina fey that is is kinda nice to see you branch out a bit after all these years.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

I guess I don't see any more purpose to Palin being in Haiti then when what's-his-name flew in with his scientoloty buddies. Maybe she's trying to show she's presidential material? Perish the thought! Anybody who bails out of their term as governor should be considered unfit for higher office. IMHO, of course. Even if I agreed with all of her policies her behaviour disqualifies her.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

She may run for president, and probably win.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

You say that now, but when she does become your president, you can bet she will be a straight-shooter and shoot from the hip. She wont mince words with our so-called "allies" and if they dont like it, she will tell them exactly where to go (hell)

As straight a shooter as Yosemite Sam!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Kind of popularity contest for winning the nomination from the Tea Party gores. Her political campaign is as gross as a rotten pudding.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Right-wingers. WHEN, WHEN are you people EVER going to stand up for your values. Women belong in two places according to your logic. The kitchen and bedroom. Where is the criticism of Palin. She needs to take care of her flippin children so that they are not out fornicating with every two bit bum and repeatedly getting pregnant. I thought mentally-retarded children needed more time too. But, no---not a peep of criticism about this issue unless the woman is a democrat!!

0 ( +0 / -0 )

She needs to impress upon Haitians the need for a Tea Party movement there. It is their only hope. Like us in America the ordinary folks must fight the statist collectivist authoritarians who have taken power.
