Congratulations Sarah. I hope she doesn't quit this job like she did being governor of Alaska. < :-)

Oh no.

Bittersweet personality - a perfect fit for Fox !
USAFdude
Sure to win the Emmy for "Best Comedy"! I can't wait!

Fair, balanced news and Sarah Palin on Fox News. What a great way to start the day! With a joke!!
dontknockit
Well, she still better get educated on foreign affairs.
goddog
She will quit before she starts

Sarah Palin moving up in the world!

Bring FOX NEWS with Sarah P., to Japan cable!
WilliB
LOL, I am looking forward to seeing Keith Olbermans already oversized head exploding on MSNBC with this.
A hilarious moment in a bleak world.

Fox just got Foxier....muahahahah !

"Oh no"
Oh yes!
"She will quit before she starts"
She will not.
"fair and balanced news"
Fair, OK, but who needs to balance good ole conservatism with mind-numbing, destructive liberalism?
ChrisBiggins
But Sarge she is such a silly sausage. She says so many silly things, how can anyone take her seriously?
Well, i watched Fox News a few times for a a laugh, pure extreme right wing propoganda at its worst.
Sarge
Chris - "She says so many silly things."
Like what?
You haven't read her book "Going Rogue: An American Life," have you? I recommend it.
WilliB
ChrisBiggins:
Not any more silly than other politicians, especially on the other side of the political spectrum. Only difference is that they get away with it. But thats your unbiased media for you.

And just when you thought the dumbing-down of the media could not sink any lower.

Old man Murdoch has done it again!

As one of America's foremost experts on Russia, I'd love to see her do a hard-hitting interview with Vlad Putin.

Nice timing after what Murdoch's family said about Fox News the other day. Looks like war breaking out at News Corp.
zurcronium
Can she see Russia from her makeup room?
Wow, Fox Fake News has finally just admitted to the world what a fake news program they have. Palin is to news as mccain is to youth. Speaking of mccain he must be just killing himself for picking palin from the redneck heap of losers as a VP candidate.
Maybe Palin can explain now why she was too busy to be governor of Alaska but is not too busy to become a media jock for fake news fox news.
USAFdude
Give Palin enough rope and she'll hang herself. I am SO looking forward to this! xD

Nothing brings real liberal contempt like individual success I always say.

sailwind -
You mean success like winning the 2008 Presidential/Vice-Presidential election? Oh, wait a minute...

One more reason NOT to watch FOX! Signing her contract means signing away what little integrity FOX may have had left.
But hey, this was all 'God's will' in her mind, I'm sure.
Alphaape
I can understand all the hate for Fox news, so tell me, is MSNBC any different? They have a leaning towards the left. Why would they make a news show for a woman whose only salient fact is that she is a lesbian?
If you don't like Fox news, then don't watch. I am not a shill for Fox news, and can honestly say I think someone like Hannity is an idot. But at least with Fox, I do get to hear an opposing opinion. I'd like to see that on Olberman or Hardballl once.

The truth of the matter was summed up nicely.

sailwind: "No thanks, The lady is can hold her own all by herself."
Only because a lot of people don't know any better than to by into all the crap she spouts. Hell, they even defend her inane, rambling, and incomprehensible comments in interviews.
Oh, and if she can 'hold her own', as you say, why did she run away from her job during her first year in office? :)
smithinjapan
Sorry, 'BUY into', not 'by'
Molenir
Whenever Palin comes up, I'm always amused to see the comments by all the libs springing up out of the woodwork. Based on these comments, I have to think she must be the most despised woman in America. I always ask, what has she done to deserve such hatred and vitriol. The libs seem to hate and fear her so much, its like by her very success she unmans them. The only other woman that comes close to commanding such venom is Ann Coulter. I have to admit, I'm really looking forward to the next Palin story, so I can see more nonsensical ranting directed her way.
Rant on my loony friends! Rant on!
sailwind
Molenir,
Agreed, I also rather enjoy watching normally intelligent liberal people turn into blithering 3rd grade playground bullies in their reasoning and in their vocabulary in their haste to just hurl whatever insult and smear that they they can just at the mention of her name.
adaydream
Palin's going to be a commentator. As such she'll be giving her opinion and not broadcasting the news. So if you listen to her you'll hear her conservative views. But those who watch her will be listening to hear her opinion. Sure there will be those on both sides either praising her dialogue or demonizing it.
I have absolutely no problem with her as long as she's not running for president. We just don't agree.
I sometimes go to FOXNews, I enjoy watching GlenBeck. I know what I'm going to hear and I don't agree with it, but by listening to him and Palin I know the conservative mantra. I don't adhere to it, but I want to be aware of it.
So those who go to FOXNews to listen to Palin know she's conservative.
I hope she does good. I might watch her. She's eye candy if nothing else. < :-)
SushiSake3
"Sarah Palin takes Fox News commentator job"
I've been laughing ever since breakfast. :-)
WayneRooney10
She has had to leave politics all together. Poor Mrs Palin is more irrelevant than ever, kind of like everyone predicted!
SushiSake3
As if the GOP didn't have enough problems - they have an out-of-control leader in Steele, they have no real policies and the ones they do have - for instance, healthcare - are so lame they barely bother to push them.
Add to that, they don't have any credible candidates for 2012, and now this?
Dumb just got dumber and funny just became hilarious.
The support of her few remaining fans who are vainly clinging to whatever shred of a reason they can find to support her shows just how desparate the GOP's predicament has become.
sailwind
Scott Brown is going to take Kennedy's Senate seat Jan 19th, I can feel it in my bones and that is how 'desperate the GOP's predicament has become. Sushi, mark my words you ain't seen nothing yet at the backlash for this arrogant Administration and its far left Liberal agenda being shoved down America's throat. New Jersey and Virginia were just a start. Mass is going to be the bombshell. As we say in the Navy "Stand-By for Heavy Rolls" if your a Liberal Democrat and who would have believed the self-destruction in less then one year.
See you on the 19th after the election there.
RomeoRamenII
As we all witnessed in the last election cycle, liberals hate strong women. Look at what they did to one of their own: Hillary Clinton. She won 27 of the last 30 democratic primaries and yet still chose to back a man.
So, it makes sense that they'd vent their spleens at a female who's a non-liberal.
lostrune2
Palin is not going to like working in New York City.
WayneRooney10
Mrs Palin had a runaway bestseller, but it made her more irrelevant than ever!
So, she's had to go and join a news network, and one with an audience larger than their three biggest competitors combined.
She's gone from snowy Alaska to a job with Mr Murdoch. She is really taking irrelevance to the next level!
Just what will they call the show she thinks she can present on Fox's Network - "Too Irrelevant for Prime Time" ??
SushiSake3
sailwind - "Sushi, mark my words you ain't seen nothing yet at the backlash for this arrogant Administration and its far left Liberal agenda being shoved down America's throat."
Hmmm...that's pretty much exactly the same reason the GOP was massacred only a year ago, except switch 'liberal agenda' for 'conservative agenda.'
I see you still completely fail to understand that most of the problems facing the current administration were caused by the last administration
the deficit, the recession, 2 wars, you name it.The arrogance of the GOP is only matched by the ignorance of its supporters.
SushiSake3
RomeoRamenII - "As we all witnessed in the last election cycle, liberals hate strong women."
lol! As I said, desparation.
RRII - "She won 27 of the last 30 democratic primaries and yet still chose to back a man."
Does a non-American have to educate an American about U.S. politics again?? Clinton didn't 'choose' to back a man. She did so because more voters backed candidate Obama than her.
'Clueless' takes on a whole new meaning when you're dealing with conservative Americans.
sailwind
The Blame Bush card doesnt play anymore Sushi, haven't you heard?
SushiSake3
Sailwind - "The Blame Bush card doesnt play anymore Sushi, haven't you heard?"
That only flies if you - for some bizarre reason - think U.S. politics began in January 2009.
For those of us who live in the real world, that's just not the case.
Denying the events in the recent past is dangerous, as you admit you choose to ignore the causes of the problems bogging down the current U.S. administration.
But then again, for some, Sarah Palin really IS a credible GOP candidate for 2012 - lol! :-)
Beelzebub
There's a comedienne in every generation, Imogene Coca, Phyllis Diller, Mary Tyler Moore, Roseanne Barr, Sarah Silverman... and now, ladies and gentlemen, I give you -- Sarah Palin!!!

I don't deny his 789 billion dollar stimulus package has resulted in a 10 percent un-employment rate. I don't deny his health care plan will cost over two trillion dollars, I don't deny his cap and trade proposal will cost an average 3000 dollars on the average family in added energy costs. I don't deny the national debt has exploded under this administration and continues to grow.
These are his policies in effect now, not that 'spawn from Satan Bush's policies, but I guess as long as you think you can bang that drum your going to. America has moved on from that in case you missed it and the Dem's are in real trouble, ask Senator Chris Dodd, he saw the writing on the wall.
SushiSake3
Sailwind, I see some facts that do not include Fox News propaganda are necessary.
Sailwind - "I don't deny his 789 billion dollar stimulus package has resulted in a 10 percent un-employment rate."
Fact #1: Obama's stimulus package, expensive as it was, saved the economy from going totally belly up. Had the GOP's 'do nothing' plan been implemented, companies like GM, BOJ, etc. and a whole lot of others would have hit the wall resulting in far higher unemployment that we have now.
Sailwind - "I don't deny his health care plan will cost over two trillion dollars."
Fact #2: As opposed to the GOP's plan, in which only a paltry 3 million more Americans would have been covered. The Dems have the guts to implement universal health insurance, and if you and your fellow well-off elitists think your poorer brothers don't deserve what you take for granted (for you in particular, thanks to your taxpayer-funded USN pension), then I suggest you take that up with them.
Sailwind - "I don't deny his cap and trade proposal will cost an average 3000 dollars on the average family in added energy costs."
Fact #3: Had the GOP remained in power, they would still be denying the threat of climate change from their mouths buried deeply in the sands of outright ignorance.
Sail, decrying the additional forecast "average 3000 dollars on the average family in added energy costs" over the future of your grandkids is about as low as you can go.
Sailwind - "I don't deny the national debt has exploded under this administration and continues to grow."
Thanks to the not one but 2 wars AND a global recession that started under the administration of the previous GOP president that you so ardently plea that I forget.
Sarah Palin appears to want to continue the policies of the bush administration - policies that are proven failures and that have pushed America into the most critical debt crisis in history.
I applaud her for taking this position at Fox News, as only the flailing few extremist U.S. conservatives who watch what passes as an excuse for a 'news' show will ever take her seriously.
The rest of us tuned out last year when she cemented her credentials as a quitter.
Good job, Sarah. :-)
WilliB
I see we don´t need to wait for CMNBC to see exploding heads over this news... we have our own Keith Olberman clones right here :-)
Alphaape
SushiSake3 and for all of you who call Sarah a quitter and only going for the money. When Bill Clinton was leaving office, they decided to move to NY and not Arkansas where they were from. For those who don't know, Hillary was the first lady of Arkansas when her hubby was the Gov. and she was a citizen of that state, since her primary residence (the Gov. mansion, they did not own a personal house until they moved out of the White House). So, instead of going back to a state that at the time would have had a Senate election too, she choose to go to a state that she did not live in (if she did she was not a resident since the 1970's) and low and behold she was elected Senator.
So, if Hillary can go someplace for the money, and get a job as a Senator with no experince in living in the state of NY, why can't Palin do the same thing.
If you don't like her views, then don't watch Fox. Remember as many here like to say, Obama won by a huge majority. So, if that majority feels that Fox does not represent their views, then there is nothing to worry about becuase they have made up their minds about whom they are going to vote for, and not watch her.
I don't agree with everything Palin stands for, but at least I know more about her and can relate. She didn't spend her time at Ivy League schools and around the same crowd.

Beelzubub: "There's a comedienne in every generation, Imogene Coca, Phyllis Diller, Mary Tyler Moore, Roseanne Barr, Sarah Silverman... and now, ladies and gentlemen, I give you -- Sarah Palin!!!"
The difference of course being that the former bunch were literally 'comedians' -- it was their profession to make others laugh, and they were willingly funny. Palin is just plain funny, and a joke for that matter, because she's completely ignorant and can barely string words together in a coherent sentence.
smithinjapan
Molenir: " I always ask, what has she done to deserve such hatred and vitriol."
Let's see... she stole a bunch of money from the American public, including using it to ferry her kids with her here and there; she used her powers of government to get a man fired, then tried to sweep it under the carpet; she ran out of sworn office less than a year after starting, and had the gall to blame everyone else for her woes... etc.
sailwind: Speaking of which, you never answered my question above: if she's such a 'strong woman who can hold her own', as you claim, why did she run away from office less than a year after starting?

Gag me with a spoon.
yabits
Wrong. Most of the impact to the current economy are from events that occurred 2-3 years ago. It takes more than a few months, and often several years, before the full impact of policies to make their impact.
As far as Palin goes, give her time and the microphone. She'll say a lot of stupid things, but those who love her obviously don't care much about her mental capabilities or situational ethics.

SushiSake3, Yes I know about that and I can't wait to read more about it in the book that is coming out.
But the bottom line is this, tell me what has Rachel Maddow done that gives her the opportunity to host a news commentary show? I don't even remember her being at least a field reporter.
I don't take everything that comes out of Fox news or Sarah Palin or anyone for that matter at 100%. But what I can say about Fox is that at least they make an attempt to present opposing sides (on most shows). Tell me, have you ever seen a coutner point to Olberman on his show that doesn's share his same viewpoint? And the last time I checked, he still ends his broadcast with the days since "The last President said Mission Accomplished." That was a decent "Schtick" back when "W" was in the White House, for awhile but now it is getting a bit old and tired. Giving this example, do you honestly believe that you are getting a balanced viewpoint from a show that is still digging at the last President.
Like I said, if you disagree with Palin and don't like what she stands for, then don't watch. As I say again, if the majority of Americans voted for Obama and what his party believes, then you will have nothing to worry about. She will not change a thing.
yabits
Her educational background is stellar: Stanford graduate with honors and a Rhodes scholar.
What she has done is attract many listeners and viewers on every broadcast show she has done from the time she started in radio in the Boston area. As they say, the proof is in the pudding.
Palin will initially attract viewers because of her name. Maddow had to do it through sheer talent alone, she didn't have the name. (But she's rapidly making one for herself.)

Sushisake, you are wrong there. There is nothing else that he can do that is more productive.

zurcronium
More facts about Palin during the campaign . . . she is a stooge.
Sarah Palin believed Saddam Hussein to be behind the attacks on 9/11, didn't understand why North and South Korea were separate (the Korean War) and that she could not properly pronounce Joe Biden's name. The book contends that Palin was a mentally unstable person prone to wild mood swings, describing her being hopelessly lost in a "catatonic stupor" at one point during the campaign.

True. Bush presided over a $2.5 trillion increase in the public debt by 2008. Obama and the Democrats are set to increase it by around $5 trillion from 2010 to 2016.
If Sarah Palin would become president, there is no way she would preside over such an increase in the public debt.

And thus she will continue to be dull and predictable on TV.

So, several organizations have given Sarah Palin the Lie of the Year award. Doesn't mean they're right. The fact remains that under the government-run program some people will be refused certain medical treatment/medicine, and will die as a result.
And a bigger lie would be Obama's claim that government-run health care will save billions of dollars.

But just to make a comment on Palin so as to make it fit, I think she would make the prefect commentator for FOX. Sort of cute, nice smile, as clueless as most other FOX moderators, etc...She has that down home twang which resonates (supposedly) with "middle American" and the heartland, regardless of the fact that her policies, as is usually the case from the right, harm the very people who are supporting them. But this is the most clever aspect of the right, even though I doubt even they are aware of it i.e., garnering support from those whose policies are not in their best interest. Anyay, okay, I've made my comment about Palin.

isn't Fox a little 'highbrow' for her? she might struggle a bit with teleprompters

"her policies... harm the very people who are supporting them"
Really? Which ones?
"she might struggle a bit with teleprompters"
She don't need no teleprompters, unlike Obama.

"her policies... harm the very people who are supporting them"
"Really? Which ones?" Do I really need to point them out? Most all policies of the right harm the very people whom support them. I can leave a LOOOOONG list if you like. They've persuaded the victims of their politcies to support them. Basically, it's like the slave masters duping the slaves themselves into thinking that they had their best interests at heart and the slaves falling for it. Sad. Pathetic and sad. Nothing new though. What else is REALLY sad is that FOX news, Palin, Limbaugh, Hannity, etc...are even a apart of any discussions related to ANY topics at all, as if they're credible sources of information. They're unfortunately given legitimacy.
"she might struggle a bit with teleprompters"
She don't need no teleprompters, unlike Obama.

Apparently she does. Unless she was hired to be the "moose caught in the headlights." Watch her sarge! She is the gift that keeps on giving. I now feel sorry for Sarah the doofus.

How appropriate. Now if we can just get her nominated for the 2012 presidental election, America will be a better place.

Let's be fair, Sarge. The major media outlets miss-quote and lie about Palin on a daily basis. Why should we deny Zurc the same right?
I think Zurc and Amrijap have a chance with their "alternative relationship," and we shouldn't spoil it for them ;-}.
