a South Korean oil refining company that is a subsidiary of the giant Saudi oil company Aramco

One of many examples. Oil states and their 'private' corporations, along with their financial backers, all backed by big war corporations, vying to seize even greater control over the globe.

The smirking MBS and his gala reception reminds us, as Orwell noted and as the G20 again so richly confirms, that some animals are more equal than others, a distasteful fact which makes plain to all but the "two-legs-bad" self-deluded and hypocritical creatures on the farm the revolting reality that it isn't only the fictional 007 who has a "license to kill ". Shame on the cowardly animals that bleat their approval for predators of this ilk!

Money talks...

...and MBS walks.

Repugnant.

Sounds like the complaint of someone who is overly sensitive.

The frown of disgust on the face of TM as she limply holds hands with the Saudi assassin almost elicited a spark of sympathy until I remembered her uncomfortable posture had nothing at all to do with the slaughter of innocents in Yemen or even with the bestial murder of Khashoggi.

Trump, who has long been loath to scold authoritarian leaders for human rights abuses, seemed to go out of his way at times to shepherd Prince Mohammed.

Here's an example:

https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2018/6/15/17467644/trump-kim-summit-fox-news

Trump loves how North Koreans treat Kim Jong Un: “I want my people to do the same”

Trump's got a base that does seem to see him as their political messiah.

Somebody needs to. Conservatives won't.

Business concerns may have colored Prince Mohammed's warm welcome this week.

In the world of the elite of course money trumps principles. Trump, the least principled president in modern history, sent Jared to KSA to see how much more money Trump, Inc. could get from MbS. KSA, from where most of the 9/11 terrorists came, with nukes?

Anyone who's spent any time in Saudi Arabia is well aware of how brutal the Kingdom's rulers are. That Trump and other world leaders ignore their brutality and seem to be beholden to them - and the other Arabian Gulf 'royals' - says how much control oil and gas powers have over the world.

Y'know why those two are smiling and what they're thinking:

"Heh, we know how to deal with 'the free' press. Heh heh heh."

Not to forget the role the crown prince plays in ratching up the threat of war with Iran and Saudi Arabia's financial support for and export of Salafist ideology and radical Islam in Indonesia and elsewhere. The West feeds (or fetes) the thugs who threaten liberty and democracy. Can't get much lower and will end badly.

Is Teresa May flirting with Xi in the photo with Trump caressing MBS's hand?

Tyrants, Dictators, will always resort to torture/summary execution, extrajudicial or otherwise.

And equally predictable is the global communities sordid and detestable appeasement witnessed so often at these summit gatherings.

Proven by Mohammed bin Salman and Russian President Vladimir Putin at this squalid G20 horror show.

I think it's more the Isreal lobby and his son in law lobbying to start a war with Iran plus the the Military Industrial Complex of course, Eisenhower said it was the greatest threat to America and nobody listened apparently.

Mea culpa! Befuddled by all the faces among the throng of assassins and dictators I mistakenly superimposed the mug of MBS on to that of Putin. Nevertheless, my implied criticism still holds true that TM's visible display of disgust was reserved for the dictator from Russia over the accidental death of a British woman rather than a sign of condemnation for the enormities perpetrated by Putin's desert counterpart.

Teresa May has more spine than all of the other 18 put together.

Lol, yeah nah. May's line-up of meetings for the w-e: Bin Salman, Putin and Erdogan. SA, Russia & turkey, that's a grand slam of murderous dictators.

@northernlife well they also got away from the 911 too...

America supports Saudi because of their America weapons buy.

And so does the UK, tories have sold £ billions of weapons to the saudi in recent years.

Let's play spot the murderer.

It's so easy to see why they've completely removed the G20 summit from the people.

Back in '99 in Seattle, everyone saw these pariahs for what they were and the protesters went to town on them.

Now these ultra-rich moguls and murderers can pat each other on the back and take these staged photos with each other while the citizenry and people are kept miles and miles away.

Clearly we need a global purge of the leadership.

A lot of people are upset about MBS hobnobbing here with the G20 leaders.

Here is what Trump said before about Khashoggi and MBS:

The crime against Jamal Khashoggi was a terrible one, and one that our country does not condone. Indeed, we have taken strong action against those already known to have participated in the murder. After great independent research, we now know many details of this horrible crime. We have already sanctioned 17 Saudis known to have been involved in the murder of Mr. Khashoggi, and the disposal of his body.

Representatives of Saudi Arabia say that Jamal Khashoggi was an “enemy of the state” and a member of the Muslim Brotherhood, but my decision is in no way based on that – this is an unacceptable and horrible crime. King Salman and Crown Prince Mohammad bin Salman vigorously deny any knowledge of the planning or execution of the murder of Mr. Khashoggi. Our intelligence agencies continue to assess all information, but it could very well be that the Crown Prince had knowledge of this tragic event – maybe he did and maybe he didn’t!

That being said, we may never know all of the facts surrounding the murder of Mr. Jamal Khashoggi. In any case, our relationship is with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. They have been a great ally in our very important fight against Iran. The United States intends to remain a steadfast partner of Saudi Arabia to ensure the interests of our country, Israel and all other partners in the region. It is our paramount goal to fully eliminate the threat of terrorism throughout the world!

I understand there are members of Congress who, for political or other reasons, would like to go in a different direction – and they are free to do so. I will consider whatever ideas are presented to me, but only if they are consistent with the absolute security and safety of America. After the United States, Saudi Arabia is the largest oil producing nation in the world. They have worked closely with us and have been very responsive to my requests to keeping oil prices at reasonable levels – so important for the world. As President of the United States I intend to ensure that, in a very dangerous world, America is pursuing its national interests and vigorously contesting countries that wish to do us harm. Very simply it is called America First!

@serrano Here is what Trump said before about Khashoggi and MBS:

Trump's lied and flip-flopped so many times only the hardest core Trump backer could trust what he said.

And given the language used in the above, especially with so many 3+ syllable words, it's highly unlikely Trump wrote or said that. He's too busy golfing and sending tweets to celebrities to take time to communicate something like that.

Orange Man bad. Got it.

This article is the #1 reason to begin the adoption of electric vehicles as soon as possible. Take away oil money, and Saudi Arabia is nothing. Let it fade back into the desert.

Why quote Trump's BS on MBS? The thousands of recorded porkies, misstatements and errors of fact emanating from the mouth of the MAGA man who "cried wolf" and "lock her up" are all the proof we need to dismiss his words as debased coinage that with the best will in the world can never be reminted.

With a dictator here and a dictator there, here a dic there a dic everywhere a dic, dic . . . and right smack dab in the middle of 'em is Donald J. Trump cracking jokes about Russian meddling in fair and free elections and looking down on a free press with these dictators who are murdering them.

What a dark day for the free world!

Two murderers in the picture. One murderer is said to be our "ally", the other our enemy. I think they should both be thrown in jail and never released. In the meantime, impose sanctions on both countries and have nothing to do with either of them.

This article is the #1 reason to begin the adoption of electric vehicles as soon as possible. Take away oil money, and Saudi Arabia is nothing.

Takes fossil fuels to produce the electric cars and their batteries.

Why quote Trump's BS on MBS?

It explains why he's decided to continue to have the U.S. do business with Saudi Arabia like everyone else.

What exactly did he say that's untrue in that statement?
