US gun violence culture rising, and rising..
The belligerence through the guns is very intimate to the culture of the US society..
This is their pathetic "freedom"..
Awwww, how cute..

As long as you continue to demonize and defund the police then let these people go and are not allowed to detain or keep them locked up for a very long time, of course, you will see thugs do these things again and again with no remorse and with complete impunity.
This is yet another example of why people don't trust Democrats when it comes to law and order, this is just beyond ridiculous!

Columbia did not defund the police.
You're attributing cause with no basis in fact.

I was referring to the stance and the push for defunding the police in most States. Florida is not doing it. New York is and again, we are talking about the Democrat philosophy and stance on how they view the police as the problem and not the solution.
No, I have the facts, and once again with the soft on crime policy, another thug involved in a shooting will be allowed to go right back out into the public and be allowed to commit crimes again.
Disgusting!

20 yr old men who don't have full time jobs or aren't in school full-time will be more likely to get into situations where firearms are around. That's a culture thing, for that subgroup, not all of America.
I've never seen any of my neighbors outside with their guns. Heck, I'm probably the worst with my pellet rifles, since I target shoot in the back yard. If my my neighbors see me "plinking", they'll wave or I will and I'll invite them over to take some shots. It builds trust between us, so nobody calls the police just because of a little target shooting in to a steel trap. They recognize the 'plink' sound too. BTW, this is perfectly legal here. Shooting a firearm is not legal in my county, except at shooting ranges. That's pretty common in any non-rural places across the US.
Of course, people who are going to violate laws are going to violate many laws.
Most people in the US don't see any firearms in person, unless they see police with them. It just isn't part of daily life unless you seek it out. The last time I saw a firearm was over Xmas when the family all visited a shooting range for fun. I haven't seen a cop close up in a few years and rarely see any police in my part of town.

Any thoughts that this thug will be released very soon. This is one of the main reasons as to why violence continues to surge all over this country, because woke judges and district attorney’s are pushing these soft on crime policies.
In South Carolina mall this shooting suspect's bond is set at $25,000, and can still go to work with ankle monitoring bracelet.
Enforce the laws on the books, hire more police, do more raids, establish is zero tolerance policy, appoint district attorneys that are serious about stopping crime and not punish people based on equity or being sympathetic to them give severe and harsh penalties to people that engage in illegal activity, that’s a start.
unless liberals face reality about the surge in crime and dealing with these people and punished him severely for the acts of crying, it doesn’t matter how many times he tried to take gun off the streets, it will never work, as a gun enthusiast I can voucher that, it will never, ever work, the only way to stop it is to get hard on crime and the people that perpetrate this kind of first and foremost, then you can start to weed out the gun situation, because you have less criminals on the streets using them, but if Democrats go on this whiny “do something about guns” that’s not going to happen, because they’re not even willing to go after the perpetrators, let alone keep them incarcerated.

The gun culture and violence is a legacy of British colonialism. The gun industry has a long history in the UK, even before the US was a country.
Similar to other former British colonies in Africa, the disparity between the socioeconomic classes further contributes to the violence.

It is a fact. Do some of your famous research beyond Wikipedia soundbytes, and you will learn..
Exactly--gun violence has been a part of the UK for hundreds of years beyond the existence of the US.
The gun industry in the UK helped spur on the industrial revolution.
Certainly can. And you are not American so you don't know what it is like to be a child in the US.
The concept of landowners using guns to defend their property originated in the UK.
And now the UK looks to the US to be the global police. Complain about isolated incidents of gun violence int he US yet rely on America to protect you with its weapons.
Fascinating.

So that "stance" led to this crime. Makes a lot of sense, sure.
And you've used the word "thug" three times so far. I know what that dog whistle means.
bass4funk
No, we have more than enough. Care to opine about the criminal and the current system that is about to let him walk? If you don’t have any, it’s ok. Usually the left would rather refrain from talking about it.
Yeah, but that’s what he is or should I call him a model outstanding citizen of society that was wronged by the system and even though he went on a shooting spree he’s a decent person? Would that sound more appropriate to the left?
bass4funk
Not at all, I want the Democrats to lose so that the Republicans can push for more police funding, hire more police and want the same for the next incoming governors and mayors to become more aggressive on crime.
Blacklabel
agreed. this wave of crime needs to stop.
and if it means the pandering to certain groups by progressive politics also needs to stop, then that is an obvious solution.
plasticmonkey
Fascinating that the topic of a mass shooting with a gun in deep red South Carolina gets turned into a discussion about "the left", "progressive politics", and "thugs".
plasticmonkey
And certainly not guns.
Most developed democracies are far more progressive (i.e. "far left") than the United States. I wonder why they don't have such high rates of mass shootings.
Could it be that we have a problem with "thugs"?
Blacklabel
Thugs, progressive politics and the left pandering to racial groups to get votes, absolutely. You do realize the shooter isn’t even in jail don’t you?
bass4funk
In other words the left don’t know or want to comment on this criminal. They just as usual want to deflect and make it about guns (as usual) this is yet again another reason as to why people are tired of the left not being serious when it comes to punishing these people. Easier to let them go and blame guns than to deal with crime as they should.
bass4funk
Depends on what that is. For millions of us not when it comes to the 1st and 2nd amendment.
They have other problems. Don’t think so? Look at France, seems like they’re very close to going hard right. No country is perfect and we don’t want to be like Europe, those that do will move there.
We have too many of those running around. Look at LA, notice the mass exodus recently?
