"Back in '97, the prime minister of the day had to step in really to help and guide the monarch,"

What a coincidence. About the same time Truss was calling to abolish the monarchy.

Poor the UK. Her Maj passed, a new (not very impressive so far) PM, ridiculous fiscal measures to "help with the cost of living" but which will actually make things worse, currency going down the tubes.

At least the cricket team and women's football team doing ok.

That initial energy package getting overshadowed might be a good thing… between Sunak and Truss, Truss struck me as being more with it in terms of economic policy direction, but these big spending packages to try to paper over inflation actually make the problem worse, even if the optics might seem good to some people.

I hope to hear more about Truss’ economic growth policies, and personally am giving her the benefit of the doubt for the moment. But more big spending packages like that first one, and that’ll be me done.

A moments silence for poor lying Johnson, now excreted from power, his "legacy" spattered into the toilet of history, a populist toff green with envy that the poor old Queen didn't die a week earlier.

Heh. Oh an Liz truss is a freaking moron. The posh boy party have set her up for the fall. General election coming soon after the winter of discontent PT II

One lawmaker from the main opposition Labour Party said other speakers in parliament had "outshone" Truss, including her predecessor Boris Johnson, who according to the Sunday Times newspaper had woken early on Friday to write his speech from scratch.

What the UK needs is a down to earth PM who gets the job done and is able to lead the country through trying times.

Fortunately, Liz Truss appears to be that sort of person.

An intellectually defective moron that has had more positions than one of Caligula's orgies? I agree she's the perfect fall guy for the posh boy party as they prepare for electoral diarrhea at the urn.
