Go crawl back under that rock.

I wonder what people like this do if and when they reach old age. Do they look back with pride at their early self, identifying themselves as a word which is synonymous with one of the worst atrocities of the 20th century? Or do they possibly have the self-awareness to realise how stupid they were, and die with regret?

He looks older than 25. But at 25 he knows nothing at all. Idiot.

Is self-awareness and self-reflection congruent with the fascist/nazi/rightist authoritarian, Some dude? Probably not. They are usually pretty cut off from the feelings that might provoke self-reflection. Hence the atrocities against humanity they can commit. Some may be capable of rehabilitation, I suppose. You would hope so.

Massive overstep by the government. It starts with things that obviously are wrong but where's the protection of free speech? Imagine in 10 years they say it's a crime to say men can't be women? I should get 1 year in prison for that? ridiculous.

One thing is for sure: their tune is going to change mighty quick if they are under the care of minority healthcare workers.

Well, there are levels to it, I suppose. Simply calling yourself a "nazi", while stupid and ignorant, is not as bad as, for instance, doing things like the salute, going to rallies, openly and/or publicly espousing such an ideology. This goes all the way up to the nazis who were the most responsible for the atrocities they committed - Heydrich, Himmler, and so on.

This guy strikes me as a typical product of the tiktok or tiktok-adjacent generation: desperate for notoriety (i.e. attention) and willing to do anything to get it. Hopefully, the highly transient nature of the modern media will mean that he is soon forgotten.

Pure idiocy on all sides. Anyone claiming to be a Nazi in the year 2024 is an idiot. Anyone so scared of the trappings of a defeated dictatorship from 80 years ago is also an idiot. A government that seeks to legislate idiocy is also...an idiot.

I guess next we have to ban Mao Tse Tung t-shirts, anything with the hammer and sickle... where does it stop?

Tell you what, why don't you visit the nearest synagogue and walk around inside with your arm raised approximately 45 degrees in front of you, shouting "seig heil". See how far your free speech gets you.

You might be right, Some dude, but maybe it is right that he should be taken at his words. That might get him to reflect on them but it might also bring out the sense of victimhood that lurks in dark hearts too, especially those of narcissists.

It's possible that he really does believe it, but with the current generation of internet-enabled narcissists, it's hard to know whether they leverage a genuine belief for "likes", or just adopt whatever they think will get them the most attention.

I mean, it's beyond pathetic either way you slice it.

As part of his punishment, maybe they should send him to Auschwitz or Dachau to see up-close what his self-styled beliefs led to. And make sure his face is on camera at all times.

Even better, why don't you try doing it in front of the Tel Aviv bus station?

I was going to say that in this article right wingers will not be commenting... but then a wild Bruce appeared....

protection of free speech? I

A person's freedom ends where the other persons right begin. The Nazi salute implies a very clear message that is dangerous and harmful to others.

Some of the Palestinian supporters marching in Sydney were waving the swastika flag.

Despicable vermin.

A stupid unnecessary law for stupid people. Just like the 13 countries in Europe who make it a crime to question any aspect of the Holocaust. Better to use truth and education than banning the questions.

Banning a salute only empowers it. Banning a flag gives it status.

Because denying the Holocaust is a lie. The Holocaust is a well documented attrocity that happened. Killing people for no good reason other than "they make more money than us" or "The are not the chosen race"

Killing people for no good reason other than "they make more money than us" or "The are not the chosen race"

That was not the reason they were killed.

If anyone's interested, look up the historian David Irving, who has been banned from entering several countries (and thrown out of several others) as a result of his open admiration for the nazis and his denial of what they did.

Fortunately, according to Wikipedia, he's now apparently on his last legs and in no condition to poison any more minds.

I will never defend this thing (can't call it a man or human).

But be careful, today it is one thing, tomorrow it may be another thing you believe in.

Canada rightful banned hate speech, but has now expanded this to include not using made up pronouns and the claim that these low hate speech offences are not punishable by jail time is false, because refusal or not paying the fine results in jail time.

So what we all agreed was a good thing at the time is now slowly growing into a unrecognizable monster.

So Australians need to be vigilant that this law does not get hijacked and expanded for political gains and for pushing certain social agendas.

It is sad that we are at the point that banning something as vile as Nazis junk is also a point of concern because we cannot trust our politicians, governments and the power of certain groups that hold sway over them.

@ Some Dude - thanks for the heart-warming news about Irving. About time we had some good news!

Either poeple that shout "Freedom of Speach" they are very evil or they are simpletons that can only deal with extrems.

You can have freedom of speach, but within what is civilized and respectful of others. If what you are saying cause people to do violent actions or extreme positions that violates the rights of others.. then freedom of speach is being abused to a criminal level.

One error made long ago is one of the main things used by people like him to claim the Holocaust isn't real.

For years in school, in documentaries etc.. we were told 6 million died in the Holocaust.

But because we ignored the fact that Romani, Sinti, Gays, Poles, Russians etc.. also died in these camps and around 5 to 6 million were killed.

We now accept 11 to 12 million died.

So these types and conspiracy freaks us this " sudden increase" as proof it was all fake.

They say things like:

" look is was 6 million, now they claim 12 million, they just making things up"

I have actually had people say this stupidity to me.

By focusing on nearly only the Jews that died and ignoring the estimated 1 million Romani and Sinti as well as all the rest we set in motion a situation that is now one of the major fluels for deniers.

Yeah, but he does seem to exemplify "only the good die young", as he's like 86.

Still, I can imagine some pretty intense celebrations when he kicks the bucket.

I understand the person displaying the swastika was Jewish. The picture at the link below suggests the person was accusing Israel of behaving like nazis.
