So the death tax is back, but only if you're a successful small businessman, or happen to own a small ranch. If you haven't been as successful, or don't own any property, then you're fine. Otherwise, you're screwed. Once again, we would like to thank the Dems for screwing Americans and their heirs out of their inheritance.

Congress has an approval rate of 13 percent. This Congress is the worst in American history.

SolidariTea,

The approval rate will get even lower once the gridlock starts next year.

"The approval rate will get even lower once the gridlock starts next year."

Yup. Only the handle's will be different.

Heh, it's already hard to find someone who'll admit to voting for Bush jnr. Before long, all these wingnut's will be suffering from 8 years "amnesia", what nromal folk simply call Denial.

Actually, its become easier to find people admitting to voting for Bush, then it is to find people who admit to voting for Obama. Or rather, they now tend to add the phrase, 'I got suckered.'

I voted for Obama. Up until now I've been pretty happy with what he's done. However, this tax compromise sucks.

If this bill passes we'll be borrowing money to pay for the continuance or tax cuts that were only intended to be temporary. Actually, bush wanted them permanent but they would never have gotten through because people knew we couldn't afford this.

Obama has torqued me off on this one. < :-)

They were never intended to be temporary. Republicans simply didn't have the votes to make the cuts permanent. They tried repeatedly while Bush was in office, and they had the majority. Dems threatened a filibuster everytime, and they caved. These cuts were always intended to become permanent. Dems insisted on the sunset provision, so they could raise them when it expired. They simply didn't anticipate there being a recession at the end of the 10 year period.

The 1 trillion-dollar Omnibus Bill just failed today.
