Feldman and others have tried to bring pedophilia and harassment into the open for a very long time only to be openly mocked or disbelieved by industry powers as well as law enforcement. Social media isn't perfect but it is a hell of a lot better than what went before.

Not a single person quoted in this story, nor any of the many people I've seen participating in #MeToo have claimed to be a bigger victim than anyone else. I haven't seen anyone even comparing victimization - the whole point of this event is to demonstrate how frequently sexual harassment or assault happens.

What I find really pathetic is all these women who claim they were assaulted by Weinstein never came forward before putting their fame, fortune and careers before their morals.

The most frequent comment I see when it comes to Weinstein stories is that either people don't believe the victim, or they don't care, because "That's just how Harvey is." And that's pretty easy to believe considering how many people in this thread are falling over themselves to denigrate anyone participating in the event.

The reason so many people come out with these stories all at once is how scary it can be to feel all alone with them. I'm experiencing it myself. I've spend a long time thinking what has happened to me wasn't that bad, I should get over it, others have it much worse. But these experiences have affected me, changed the way I behave and think and planted fear in me. This hashtag is more than just a trend for people like me. It shows that I'm not alone, that these incidents are unacceptable, and that it isn't a competition about the most traumatic experience. It's giving me strength to face what has happened and tell myself that it wasn't okay, no matter how "minor" it may have seemed.

Yes I am sure all of the encounters were consensual. I'm absolutely certain these women were not coerced into consent just because HW is an all powerful man in the industry who could make or break anyone's career and livelihood. I am sure they all consented because HW is so darn attractive.

A victim would have immediately told the police and would have pressed charges.

Because all victims of sexual assault act the same, right? They all follow a set procedure. They do not panic or worry or take an easier option or try to bury it. And the self loathing never haunts them if they chose the latter. Oh no.

If you've been assaulted, or know someone who has, or who has worked with victims of abuse - you'd understand that reactions are diverse, unpredictable and they don't follow any one path.

One thing for sure. The loudest, most judgemental voices will be male. And they will question, interrogate, deride, denigrate, discredit and ultimately dismiss.

This is the kind of mindset we're up against.

But hip hop, as a genre - still ever evolving, I love it.

The misogynist, abusive stuff can go stuff itself. Which I say having owned some of it in the past. As well as plenty of questionable metal bands output as well.

"Rosey" Mcgowen was paid 100 thousand dollars to keep her mouth shut regarding HW. She agreed and happily took the money. A business arrangement. She knew exactly what she was getting into. A victim would have immediately told the police and would have pressed charges. Mind you she was fairly successful even back then. She prostituted herself for the fame and glory of Hollywood. Now that nobody cares about her anymore she will do whatever it takes to get back in the limelight. The trouble is she is having to much fun with this now and seems very UN-believable.
