Can’t trust a world they say!

Want to know how to tell when Chinese Communists are lying?

Easy? Whenever their lips move, they're lying.

10 ( +13 / -3 )

Listen you are free from coronavirus, just don't leave your apartment.

9 ( +10 / -1 )

Anything pertaining to Covid, since it broke in Wuhan, that comes out of China has little credibility.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

The whole world is laughing at the CCP right now. I feel so sorry for people in Shanghai.

4 ( +4 / -0 )

I am sure the WHO would endorse this message.

3 ( +9 / -6 )

No, the whole world is not laughing at the CCP right now.

No, they are shaking their heads in pity and disgust.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

there is always the "media statement" and then there is "reality"

2 ( +3 / -1 )

No, the whole world is not laughing at the CCP right now.

The parts of the world that don't get jailed for being a spy against the CCP are.

I am.

Is "Zero-COVID achieved" the same as "Mission Accomplished?"

Both seem worthy of laughter at the time, though we don't because of the real humans left with the failed results.

@painkiller, this story is about Shanghai and Chinese statements, not anywhere else. More "projection" from the doggie warriors following the CCP playbook.

2 ( +2 / -0 )

even if the headline read 'Shanghai says zero-covid achieved and no more lockdown' there are those that would still be critical and cynical

But it doesn’t which is why we are.

Doesn't matter to Mama. If she gets sick and needs to go to the hospital she knows the ambulance won't come because of Covid and the only member of the family with a car is still restricted to his condo compound. That is the reality of Shanghai today, based on our conversation earlier.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

Over a million dead in your own country and you want to talk about credibility? Do me a favor.

The US and other western nations have been honest about their death and infection rates. In China if someone like Mama who has COPD and a history of small strokes comes down with Covid-19 and dies, her death will not be attributed to Covid-19 as it would in the US. The Chinese will instead say she died from COPD, which is a bald faced lie. Many tens of thousands of Chinese died early in the pandemic, probably more, that were never recorded. People got Covid-19, were locked down and died without ever being tested. The Chinese statistics are wildly inaccurate.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

And after two years, the US sustained over 1 million covid related deaths, while China less than 10,000.

Just to confirm, you are stating you believe the numbers reported by the CCP, is that correct? That you believe the CCP's reported numbers?

1 ( +3 / -2 )

I am sure the WHO would endorse this message.

A previous article here showed that the WHO Chief clearly called the zero covid policy unsustainable, it is difficult to be more clearly against it. At this point nobody endorses it.

Great, zero cases of the common cold, suffering for millions.

0 ( +1 / -1 )

I've heard this before coming from the CCP!!! All that comes out their mouths is a bunch of gibberish!!! I don't believe it!

Shanghai on Tuesday declared it had achieved "zero-COVID" across all its districts, sparking derision on social media as millions in China's biggest city remained under lockdown.

Excellent job China, keeping rates of Covid infections and related deaths the lowest in the world.

You keep repeating it and when asked to prove it you bring sources that say the contrary. This means it is obviously false.

While millions in Shanghai are under lockdown, at least they are live. The US in contrast,

Why use the US as a contrast? other countries can have a very effective control without lockdowns and with less deaths than in Shanghai, this means the policy is at the same time unnecessary and not even the best approach.

Sour grapes.

If you can't refute the WHO then their opinion is valid, even if you don't like it.

As scientists and medical professionals know, it is more accurate to use similar figures when making comparisons, so using large population countries like China and the US is the norm.

That would be false, this is precisely the reason why rates are used instead of total number of cases or deaths, so comparisons can be made.

Let's see how those zero community vases compare with New Zealand:

Why cases and not deaths? it is a much more important parameter, once again this is why death rates are the gold standard for evaluation of COVID responses and also why China choose to hide the total number of deaths in order to appear as if it is doing a better job than the disaster it is causing with its outdated policy and obvious disinformation (after all, millions of people in lockdown make impossible to believe that zero covid has been reached).

Relatives of patients at the Donghai Elderly Care Hospital, Shanghai's largest care home, said several residents caught COVID-19 there and died in late March and early April, which wasn't reported in official data at the time.

That would be false, this is precisely the reason why rates are used instead of total number of cases or deaths, so comparisons can be made.

As scientists and medical professionals know, it is more accurate to use similar figures when making comparisons. It is a simple fallacious argument called a small sample.

Even with such small sample, the death rates in New Zealand are higher than those in China.

Simple--because every scientist knows the more infections the more related deaths. Zero infections means zero related deaths. It's not a difficult formula to understand.

And the statistical data clearly shows New Zealand has a higher rate of infection and related deaths. One of the highest in the world.

Anything pertaining to Covid, since it broke in Wuhan, that comes out of China has little credibility.

How have you eliminated the possibility of another nation releasing covid near Wuhan as part of a false-flag operation?

I'm not saying this is what happened, just pointing out that to logically conclude it absolutely was China requires first eliminating that other possibility. Since you seem to have come to that absolute conclusion, I'm giving you the benefit of the doubt that you are intelligent enough to be able to do so, and therefore must have eliminated the possibility of a false-flag. So how did you eliminate that possibility?

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

Simple--because every scientist knows the more infections the more related deaths.

That would be false, countries have achieved lower death rates even with higher cases thanks to actually effective measures like improving medical treatment and vaccination.

Even with such small sample, the death rates in New Zealand are higher than those in China.

Only if you invalidly compare the two different counting systems as the same, once you convert New Zealand deaths to the Chinese system their death rates are lower.

As scientists and medical professionals know, it is more accurate to use similar figures when making comparisons. It is a simple fallacious argument called a small sample.

No, it is not, because rates do not come from a sample of the population but from the total,

Zero infections means zero related deaths. It's not a difficult formula to understand.

That is the thing, China has not achieved zero infections, even when producing more deaths thanks to destroying the local economy and disrupting health services. It causes more deaths without need because other policies are more effective.

And the statistical data clearly shows New Zealand has a higher rate of infection and related deaths. One of the highest in the world

It does the opposite, which is why you stopped bringing sources since they clearly prove the zero covid policy is not the one that gives the best results, even the WHO says it.

All that comes out of their mouths is a bunch of gibberish !!!

Well...Unless your actually listening to it with your ears coming from their mouths instead of reading it with your eyes - you really dont have a freaking clue who's announcement is gibberish yours or theirs !

We know yours are frequently gibberish thats obvious !

If by "they" you mean the whole world, I don't know of anybody shaking their heads in pity and disgust.

In the CCP lockdown really does mean lockdown, zero tolerance. In a country of 1.3 billion, I do have an understanding to such a stance. I hope that the CCP get on top of the outbreak as soon as possible, and life gets back to normal as soon as possible. Having been in lockdown myself (not just a quasi-lockdown) I can empathise with the people of Shanghai.

It would be bizarre to compare China with a small country like, say, New Zealand, but just for fun let's use a city in China to do so:

Shanghai achieved its long-awaited milestone of three consecutive days with no new COVID-19 cases outside quarantine zones

Let's see how those zero community vases compare with New Zealand:

*Grim milestone: Covid-related deaths surge past 1000; *9570 new cases

Such a shame to see central planning so heavily mocked.
