Partly cloudy, with a 10% chance of sheep-showers later in the day.

Tragic for the sheep and witnesses to be sure.
Weren't the sheep wearing seatbelts?
serendipitous
Poor sheep and I bet the driver is feeling rather sheepish....

If the truck had fallen off the overpass, it would have been far worse than sheep falling on the cars below. It's very lucky that nobody was seriously hurt, but sad that the sheep had to die horribly because of the truck driver's error. It seems like fatigue was probably involved; the driver didn't slow down to an appropriate speed.

sometimes sheep happens to you.

Very surreal, and glad no one was injured. Feel bad for the sheep, though.

400 sheep? I have no idea how many cubic meters a sheep needs, but that must have been one big truck- though if they're on the way to the slaughterhouse, I guess they stuff em in.
but I bet you'll still enjoy a nice lamb chop....Cletus

Readers, don't even attempt to turn this into a vegan versus meat-eater debate.

Sheep are very cute animals. Sad story though, these are animals.

Lucky at happened when it did 2 hours later and the road below would have been much much busier with the start of the morning rush hour.
Unbelievable though that this truck driver tried to take that corner at 100km/h though. I know that bit of road well and no way should he have been going that fast on that bend. Lucky he didnt end up killing someone.

Had a look at some pics on an OZ news site, that would have scared the ..... out of you. There are sheep scattered every where on the road. Ironic, I had lamb chops for lunch today.

nomonkeynolife - It is offensive (as is YuriOtani's uncontrollable laughter). The sad fact though is that 400 animals crammed into a truck are no more than 'cargo' - meat that isn't (quite) dead yet. Sheep can stand a disturbing amount of abuse before the quality of the meat is affected, which generally means they are regularly subjected to that level of abuse - including being transported long distances en masse in crowded trucks with no access to food, water or fresh air.

I know it's always a bad smell when driving behind a livestock truck, but i bet this tragedy is every driver's worst nightmare.

Baaaaaad, sheep failing from the sky upon innocent Aussies. In the land down under dial 000 and not 911. Am not sure if "Big Boy BBQ" is tied into the emergency network. Then again hitsuji are so rare in Japan that 2000 were sold in Japan as poodles! Laughs with sheepish grin Baaaaaad! Wonders what happened to the sheep? Are the sheep houses the same down under as in Kanagawa? Lets hope they did not come to a Baaaaaa ending! am going to laugh myself sick
