Sidelined by Trump, Macron tries to rally Europe on Ukraine. But divisions run deep

Trump cannot be relied on for anything positive so Europe needs to plan how to arm Ukraine.

The UK will only send troops after a peace deal is worked out, most likely to patrol a DMZ. Not a big issue for the EU as we are no longer in it.

President Musk has, though. Ironically, he attacked Farage for not being right-wing enough. Farage came out of it rather well in the UK.

The UK isn't a big trading partner of the US (we don't manufacture much any more) and no post-Brexit trade deal is on the cards. We buy a lot of energy and military gear from the US and they get posh booze from us. Our military spending is over 2%. There isn't a lot to bicker about.

Trump has betrayed all her European allies, he has done more appeasement than British prime minister Neville Chamberlain who betrayed the Czechs, a very good news for the whole world.

Who wants to be another Ukraine ? Who will believes the U.S. anymore ? Changing the president in Washington means previous administration's policy discontinued and no more safety guarantee. No one should believe an America like this.

Trump and his cabinet members have damaged relationships with Europe and the US with outspoken comments. Then Musk interviewed the German AfD leader and mounting support for extreme rightwing groups. Europe is excluded from talks on Ukraine.
