LOL! I love the movie Network, but Beale doesn't have anything on Glen Beck.
I am a big fan of Lumet's movies, and they don't get any better than The Verdict or Prince of the City.
Fail-Safe and All The King's Men are two other classics directed by the master. I also loved Daniel, a movie based upon the children of the executed Ethel and Julius Rosenberg.

Me too.The Venona Papers completely vindicated McCarthy - and good old fashioned Democrats like RFK.

"The Wiz" was a huge bomb, in no way a "popular film" even with MJ as the star, considered by many to be an unmitigated disaster.

Well, Babe Ruth didn't knock them all out of the park either.
The combination of Lumet's directing and Mamet's writing on films like Prince of the City and The Verdict created some of the best movies ever.

I've always considered 'Dog Day Afternoon' an underrecognized gem. Lumet was one of the directors who made American cinema in the 70s look and feel like what it will always be admired for. A real eye for honesty in filmmaking. RIP

Along with an under-appreciated actor in the person of John Cazale.
