"A villager came who spoke English came, and he called out "We are here, we are with the rebels"
If he was with Gadhafi's forces, that's probably what he would have called out too.
How much longer before he is deposed/killed? I've said that Gadhafi is toast, but it seems that the toaster oven is set on low, lol.
MrDog
I hope Gadhafi gets what is coming to him. He's either going to get lynched by his own people, turned into flying mince by coalition bombing, or arested and jailed. The sooned the better.
Any countries supporting him should be sanctioned and treated the same as Libiya.

Hope all ends well ,for Libyans.

The US military is too stretched already. In this little war, the US needs to pull back and give the reins to another like the French.

how can you even lol??

With coalition bombs taking out Gadhafi's tanks, that is hampering his ability to crush the rebels, but without coalition troops on the ground, this might become protracted unless enough Gadhafi forces turn against him in sufficient numbers.

Moammar Gadhafi’s was a dictator for 40 years, and still brought Libyans free medical care, no bills for electricity/oil etc. So in last 40 years he made them rich.USA are the biggest debters of the world...So when the war at Libya will be over, oil companies will get profit, and what happens to ordinary people, who pay taxes that are used for making war?

Sarge:
In other words, the Western world has to send its soldiers to fight and die on behalf of muslim rebels against a muslim dictator in country where everybody hates them already.
Brilliant idea, indeed!
And how phantastically that worked the last couple of times. Congratulations, Obama and Sarkozy.

Mr. dog:
Fact is, Gaddafi is a small, harmless gadfly compared to e.g. Saddam. So now the very left that was all furiously against attacking Saddam now can´t stop their enthusiasm to go to war with Gaddafi?
Bizarre!

Coalition countries have used military power to prop up and possibly put in power a group of people we literally do not know. Can you tell me who are the rebels we are supporting? Do we have any idea of how they might government look should they topple Gadhafi? Why do we think a no fly zone will protect civilians when they never have in the past? Sure enough, the decision making process that led to the intervention was remarkably opaque. More important, the coalition nations have not really defined what they hope to achieve.
Madverts
Petty squabbling about control....bah work together or not at all, these are our leaders?
MrDog
"Never have in the past"? Even in Bosnia?
Pilots will be less willing to go and bomb civilians if they know that they'll more than likely be blown to pieces soon after take-off by highly advanced fighters.
The same thing happened with Gaddafi, he was boosted-up by Western support, everyone knows that.
I was 100% behind the Iraq and Afghanistan invasions, because the people in charge of those countries were dictators or extreemists. Hasn't turned out great, but still. We got their oil.
But Gaddafi is nuts. Have you ever heard/read what he says to his people? He's crazy and dangerous. Do you think he should be in charge of a country?
