Affected people stay warm and safe.

There was a similar event earlier this winter that hit Buffalo, and a bigger one in 1978 that pummeled CT, RI, and MA.

turbostat: heavy rain in your region doesn't disprove sever drought in other regions.
There is a global warming trend coinciding with human activity.
So far, the best explaination for this trend is the tons of carbon accumulated during millions of years being released in the atmosphere among other things over about 200 years.
Even a couple of tenth of a degree is enough to change weather patterns.
Reaction is different in every region.

@TumbleDry, does that address the points made in Link 1 at all?: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/11367272/Climategate-the-sequel-How-we-are-STILL-being-tricked-with-flawed-data-on-global-warming.html
TumbleDry
Turbostat: well, the adjusted GISS data seems rather disturbing. I agree. That said, this is surface temperatures and not reliable as the only source for climatic models.
