On Saturday, Ukraine accused the Kremlin of reviving the "genocidal" tactics of Josef Stalin as Kyiv commemorated a Soviet-era famine that killed millions of Ukrainians in the winter of 1932-33.

Holomodor version 2, this time Putin and the Kremlin are aping Stalin and the Kremlin. What nation do Putin and the Kremlin want to try to destroy next? Stop Putin's brand of fascism from spreading beyond Russian borders. Russian troops need to go back to their families in Russia. Let Ukraine solve its own problems. Russia needs to take care of its many problems with Russia's borders, and its borders do not include any Ukrainian territories; Crimea is Ukraine. if Russians want resorts to go to, many of the Kremlin's Russian gangster friend's have properties in Cyprus and elsewhere they can visit.

Uh, because they were born free- not citizens of Russia.

And now he's the president of a Ukraine, a country that's existed for several decades.

Ukrainians have never been citizens of Russia.

Card, Zelensky was born in the Soviet Union, with a Russian birth certificate

No he didn't. He was born with a USSR birth certificate.

NATO promised to support Zelensky but where are air defense systems?

Already supplied:

Is the "ultra-right" (to put it politely) regime in Kiev and its western backers secretly pro Soviet?

No.

If not, shouldn't they insist on the borders the Soviets created be abolished and returned to the pre-Soviet era?

No.

Ukraine was an Oblasts of the Soviet Union pre 1991 ,his grandfather was a citizen of Russia

You mean like the NASAMS that a certain someone (screen name starting with b) said wouldn’t be deployed for months and swore to do a new culpa if wrong?

Yeah that was 10/13. The systems were deployed and operational by 11/10. Sadly but unsurprisingly, not a peep from b.

Systems have been deployed and are successful but more are needed.

Soviet Union. Not Russia.

his grandfather was a citizen of Russia

And both his parents were Ukrainian.

This is the Russians last Gambit. They blast the civilian population into submission or come the spring, the UA is positioned equipped and trained to take back all of its territory including Crimea. So say foreign defense analysts.

The Russians know this. They know their worn out army, low inventories and depleted air capabilities cannot hope to compete, so they bomb hospitals, power facilities and electricity transmission centers to try to kill as many civilians as possible and break the will to fight; just like Chechnya. Just like Aleppo.

It’s the Russian way of war. “If our untrained, poorly equipped cannon fodder cannot defeat you, we will kill as many women and children as possible.”

Card,it do change the fact ,he was born in Russia, with a government an exact copy of the Russian system

Nope. "Russia" wasn't a country when Zelensky was born.

Is the "ultra-right" (to put it politely) regime in Kiev and its western backers secretly pro Soviet?

They're not ultra-right. Absurd. The country doing the invading, however, is.

If not, shouldn't they insist on the borders the Soviets created be abolished and returned to the pre-Soviet era?

No. One doesn't have to support the Soviet Union to agree to the borders of Ukraine set by the Soviet Union.

Inflicting more misery on the civilian population.

Less than 10% are military targets.

Infrastructure, power stations, hospitals, schools, you name it.

Russians are so good at that.

But they received, receive, and will receive their bills!

Ukraine will prevail!

Ukraine will rise!

Biden admin scrambles to track $20B in Ukraine aid as House Republicans warn of audits

Biden's admin reportedly inspected just 10% of weapons going to Ukraine between February and November

20 billion is in someone’s pockets.

20 billion would buy a lot of generators and heaters wouldn’t it?

Eastman,

once again confused concerning names?

EastmanToday  10:03 am JST

Volodymyr

I think it should be spelled Vladimir (Putin).

Yrral,

well, there are quite some frozen Russian assets in foreign countries that will most definitely be used to rebuild Ukraine.

Ukraine will prevail!

Now, have a look at the size of Ukraines territory, the number of potential targets that need coverage and imagine how little this aid actually does to change the balance.

In addition, the UK will donate AMRAAM defence missiles, 125 anti-aircraft guns, dozens of radars, and anti-drone electronic warfare systems. France recently delivered two batteries of Crotale mobile air defence systems.

But agreed, they could always do with more.

Yrral, let me help you out (with the translation):

Volodymyr Oleksandrovich Zelenskyi.

Still, you got it wrong: Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin

It might look similar, but then again .....

was he expecting a Xmas present? It is a war that Ukraine started in 2014,(well almost all conflicts are created with the Sid of weapons sellers).

Russia is savagely hitting Ukrainian power sources to make it tough for them this coming winter but Russia itself has a harsh winter coming up, and with UN sanctions placed on them - let's see how Pudding Head (trump's master) handles this dilemma.

Wil

Ukrainian territory encompasses 600.000 km2.

Which is irrelevant. Ukraine doesn't have to defend every square km.

What is relevant is the infrastructure they choose to defend. These missile defence systems will help boost their existing infrastructure, which is eliminating around 70% of missiles and drone at the moment.

But I agree that they will need more.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Wil

As soon as the Russians started targeting the electricity infrastructure using drones and missiles, Western pressure on Ukraine to start talks increased.

Really?

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock said Berlin's support for Ukraine would not falter in the face of reduced Russian energy supplies.

3 ( +6 / -3 )

Wil

The systems mentioned are able to protect at most 28.000 km2. This may sound like a lot, but it is a drop in the bucket if you look at what needs protecting: powerstation, switchingstations, power lines, bridges etc. etc.

Yes. They prioritise the infrastructure in a cohesive way to reduce the damage that Russia can inflict.

According to the Ukrainians. Personally i think this number is highly exagerrated. I base this on the fact that their energy gris is in tatters.

I.e., pure speculation.

Really?

Yes really

https://www.washingtonpost.com/national-security/2022/11/05/ukraine-russia-peace-negotiations/

That's a political advice so as to not look intransigent. Not suggesting that support is waning.

In fact, General Milley said: “We will be there for as long as it takes to keep Ukraine free,”

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Sunday that Russia would surely launch new missile attacks on his country,

so Russia isn’t out of missiles yet?

Or just a way to demand more money from the West?

-9 ( +4 / -13 )

Or just a way to demand more money from the West?

Ask, not demand. As an average freedom loving American, I am more than happy that we are putting taxpayer money to good use by supplying weapons to Ukraine.

6 ( +8 / -2 )

oh no, its definitely demand. or else.

-7 ( +2 / -9 )

its not even weapons anymore.

...why the United States taxpayer is responsible for funding the government operations of Ukraine, to include the paychecks and pensions of Ukrainian government officials.

-8 ( +2 / -10 )

oh no, its definitely demand. or else

Or else what? lol

its not even weapons anymore.

I'm fine with that too. The US spends 100s of billions on the military each year, and the right never complains about that, so I have 0 problem with a fraction of that money going to help Ukraine stay a free, sovereign nation.
