I hope the Russians get there soon.

I beleive that the price will drop when the Russian ship gets within the Somali coast. I hope those pirates were able to watch TV recently and fully understood what just happened in Georgia. But, if not, they will get a real quick lesson.

We could use the help of the French again. --Cirroc

Our buddies the French have some annoying quirks, oh yeah, but when it comes to special ops, spy stuff and knowing how to eat, you got to give credit where credit is due. The French are good at those. --Cirroc

McNeoCon, Actually the French have a GREAT special ops force.

Send in the French special ops guys, they know what to do.

that is the funniest thing I ever read. even if the french actually has special ops crew we all know they would surrender at the first sign of a fight. Thank the Good Lord the US is there to save everyone again.

"We want ransom"

Or, we want money that we didn't earn.

frontandcentre; they first have to know where their bases are. i bet the russian Navy will have no problem making a example of the somilian pirates even if it costs some crewmen lives.

The spate of hijackings recently is way beyond a joke. The solution, however, should be quite simple. They should communicate to the pirates that there will be international naval patrols protecting merchant shipping in the area, and that if they do this again, or even come close to another vessel, a gunship will fly over and turn them into instant fish food. If THAT threat doesn't work, then they should launch a land attack combined with airstrikes and destroy their bases.

“if we are attacked, we will defend ourselves until the last one of us dies.”

Sounds good to me.

unscrejects:

Lots of countries who are friendly with the U.S. buy Russian weapons for their military. They are cheaper and the T72 is no match for the M1 Abrams. Also, this seems to be a ligitmate Military acquisition for the Keyna military (they are intitled to have an armed force for national defense just like everyone else) so calling the crew "merchants of death" is not right.

As the Russian fregatte gets closer, watch the price drop...

Isnt that down a lot from the 35 million they wanted yesterday? As the Russian fregatte gets closer, watch the price drop...

Kenya buying tanks from Russia? I thought Kenya was the 'good friend' of the US. And why is anyone concerned about these tanks anyway? Just sink the tub if they pose a problem - crew an' all (they're merchants of death). A lesson for McCain - Somalia is what happens when you jump into a war without thinking.

I read about that Russian ship heading that way. It's a monster that can start WW3.... and then win it.

The pirates have been caught this time. Unless they decide to surrender, I bet they're dead very soon. That includes the crew. < :-)
