Pirates in Puntland are known to spend their ransom spoils on alcohol, drugs and prostitutes. Pirates never change, they know how to party.

I knew they were in deep crap when they captured Americans. Now let's just hope they don't get them to land before the rescue begins.

goodDonkey,

Yup. The pirates made a big mistake. I hope the Americans are successful in both rescuing the victims and capturing these pirates. It might make the next lot think twice.

capturing? I'd prefer if the rescue party takes no prisoners...perhaps that would make them think a whole lot more.

Kwaabish,

That'd get no complaints from me either.

They are not scared of the warship, they have the hostages.

Personally, I'd like it if the US did something that would make them scared, very scared.

They should kill the pirates on the spot. Isn't this the kind of situation that SeALS are trained for?? What are they doing, polishing their rifles and shouting "hoo-rah" as usual?

With an international flotilla of warships off the coast of Somalia, the nationality of the warship following the Quest wasn't identified in this article. Could be French, British, Japanese.......

Several nations have killed and captured pirates. Several pirates ships have been sunk and many have been let go. Finding a country to accept and then try the pirates seems to be a problem.

I seem to remember that it was 3 U.S. Navy Seals who fired 3 rounds and killed 3 pirates in 2009.

Maybe it's just me, but if I had a yacht that is not the first or even second place I'd think of sailing it. Is it possible for someone who can afford a yacht to be that uninformed?

warnerbro:

These naive fools on the yacht are carrying bibles into the waters of Somalia.

Clearly, they are astonishingly ignorant, but not more so than the US and Euro politicians and the mainstream media commentators.

How come democracy didn't break out in Somalia after they ousted their leaders? I wonder if the kumbayah kiddies here have a reply.
