Tbh, I'm still going to wear a mask all the time... but that's because of my extreme introversion. Pre-covid, my going out gear always consisted of sunglasses, headphones and a large hood, which made me very unapproachable. The mask now adds to that. I'll happily keep wearing my mask as a barrier to social interactions lol.

“Fauci said the agency would release more specific guidelines and "significant clarifications" in coming weeks on mask wearing. “

If these so called experts continue to still where a mask after being vaccinated doesn’t give a lot of confidence to a lot of people, more of a suspicious sign that maybe it’s not as effective as they want you to think it is.

People in Japan have been wearing masks in public for decades. If some people start doing the same in other countries, there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

He’s a racism expert now too, cause “the science”.

Isn't it funny that people who have made a duty out of criticizing Anthony Fauci are usually not experts in any scientific field? More often than not, they're actually fairly intellectually and/or morally challenged. Which of course makes their "opinions" completely and irrevocably moot!

I simply quoted his own words.

non-existent assertions and attributing things to people in weak attempts to disparage those people.

Reckon I'll be wearing mine as long as I feel comfortable with it. Especially on public transport.

If these so called experts continue to still where a mask after being vaccinated doesn’t give a lot of confidence to a lot of people, more of a suspicious sign that maybe it’s not as effective as they want you to think it is.

I'm suspicious about the right wing misinformation spreaders who appear to wear several different masks, depending on what day it is.

does "science" support this statement? a decades long commitment? huh?

"Let us promise ourselves our memory of this tragic reality - that an infectious disease disparately kills people of color - does not fade. Righting this wrong will take a decades-long commitment. I urge you to be part of that commitment," Dr. Anthony Fauci told Emory2021 grads

Vaccines simply give people the freedom to stop wearing a mask without being inconsiderate of the risks for themselves and others. Some people are not particularly bothered and will choose wear them to lower that risk even if it is already "low enough", others simply do it because of the peripheral benefits (like prevention of other respiratory infections). That should not be a problem. The problem is the invalid polarization of the use of masks because of politics which fortunately is not that important outside of the US.

Hopefully the pandemic will have the silver lining of educating people about how to actually prevent risks from respiratory infections and maybe in the following years we will have much less cases of influenza for example.

Think I will go with the word of a PhD. Infectious Disease Specialist over the opinion of a day-trader.

We all know the kind of person who would claim to get vaccinated but not actually do it just so he/she could ditech his/her mask and become a danger to themselves and others.

At the beginning of your extremely long sentence, you are implying that the experts aren’t actually e Peet’s. At the end of your really long sentence, you are saying that watching the non-experts wear masks means the vaccine (that was rushed because of Trump) is not as effective as the experts claim.

Talk about long sentences, Democrats were screaming for Trump to do something he did and remember, Trump didn’t make the juice, nice try.

It’s always fun reading internally contradictory posts

Hardly, on point, but if Biden is so sure and Harris, and they got vaccinated, why wear a mask?? The CDC just said, you don’t, so what Joe is doing and showing the country is very contradictory. There you go.

good. better safe than sorry- especially with the new Indian variant out there.

Exactly.

Thanks to all the stubborn and deliberately mean and contradictory people, the virus was able to mutate as was feared.

if Biden is so sure and Harris, and they got vaccinated, why wear a mask??

Because there are too many folk who refuse to get vaccinated, don't believe’ in the virus, who will see the fully-vaccinated top dogs and proclaim, ‘Well if they ain’t wearing masks, no reason I should’.

In the meantime some people interviewed in Japan say they have stopped wearing masks because they saw on the news that it was OK.

(No matter that it was US news being reported over here.)
